Beta Valentine will be playing our final show at Club Deville
this Saturday. We were originally hoping for it to be a CD
release/final show combination but the CD isn't ready yet, so it's just
a final show. Show starts at 9pm. We play at 10pm. I'm not sure of the
cover charge, but it's probably on a few bucks. Come out only if it
won't interrupt your plans for dinner at that quaint little
faux-gourmet place that's overhyped and overpriced but still works like
a charm.

Our third CD will be coming out soon. It will most likely be made
available as a free download. We'll let you know when it's done if
you're interested.

PS. SXSW sucks. It's for 17 year olds and those that think they are.

PPS. Yeah, I had to throw that in there.

Most of PJ's lyrics are about this: a woman's lover leaves her, and she tries to contact him to find out why he's left. She confronts his wife and son, who are as clueless as she. Meanwhile her girlfriend is afraid the police are looking for her because of her boyfriend's criminal activities. They talk to a female lawyer, who turns out to be the lover's new lover, and everyone's path keeps crossing each other's in a very complicated and confusing manner.

PJ's fuckin deep, yo.

We're playing in January and then a final show/CD release show in February.

Yes, we're breaking up. You're all sad n shit. I can tell.

But since people still ask us "how's the band? when are you playing again?" as if they really do care, well, here's the info. We know that you won't come, but we hope that this might stave off those ridiculous questions.

We actually have a show! Yes! We're actually going to take our equipment out of the practice space, set it up at the Parlor and play songs! Isn't that exciting for you? It's our 3rd show of the year in fact. We may, just may, play a 4th by year's end, but let's take it one step at a time. BV does not strain itself and neither should you. We got time baby. Slow down and enjoy the ride.

Saturday, August 23rd.
The Parlor on North Loop in Austin.
The Steed (9pm)
Radioland Murders (10pm)
Beta Valentine (11pm)
Free & All Ages.

We've got some new songs to play for you and we should have a new full-length out next year sometime if the stars align themselves in a way that gravity does not overpower inertia.

First, I'm gonna talk about my stuff. On Friday, March 7, I'll be playing my first "solo" show at the Parlor here in Austin. The one on North Loop. When I say "solo" I mean I'll be playing Chris Boehk songs, but I've put together a band of brothers (a rag tag group of outsiders from the wrong side of the tracks) to share in the glory. Joey Siggens, who plays in Beta Valentine with me and recorded my CD, will playing the lead guitar. Matt Anderson, who plays in 14 other bands locally and lives down the street from me, is playing the drums. Jeff Greene, who I've been in Orion and The Search for Saturnalia with and have known for 15! years is playing the bass. I, of course, will be playing the rhythm guitar and doing the vocals. We've had a few practices and so far it sounds delicious. It should be a lot of fun and a low key show. Rachel from Experimental Aircraft has a new band with her husband called All In The Golden Afternoon and they'll be going on first at 9pm. The second band is called The Little Bicyles and they'll be going on second at 10pm. Me and the boys will be headlining at the wee hours of 11pm. The show is free, it's all ages, and of course there's all the pizza and beer you can afford to pay for.

Now, I'll talk about Beta stuff. We're going into the studio for a day in the next week or so to track all of the new songs we have up to this point. That's 6 for those of you haven't been keeping count. We will be recording 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, and 29. At this point, I'm not sure which is my favorite, but I'm leaning towards 29 since we just wrote it and it's a really good song. We're also making a rare live appearance in the new future as well. We'll be playing at the Scoot Inn on Friday, February 22nd. It's a fundraiser for Allen Demling who's running for City Council. The show is $3. The other bands on the bill are Hot Penecostals and Hacienda.

Love, Chris
