It's been a while since I posted a blog but wtf ever. About 3 weeks ago Vince, John, and I headed down to San Diego to see Into Eternity, Epica, and Symphony X play at the HoB. I think we were all only interested in seeing Into Eternity. Little did we know Into Eternity were the first band playing AND they would only be playing 5 songs. WTF!?!?!?! I know they're not well known, but they should have at least been second during the show.

So Into Eternity plays, they rock, we have fun. The crowd didn't like them one bit. I thought that people were still coming in and weren't prepared for the show. Nope, people were there and ready....for Epica. When that shit band came on the crowd went nuts. I only heard about them through a former roomate and his opinion of them was vastly overrated. They sucked, blew, tanked, whatever. The guitar players sucked, the bass and keyboards were average, and the drummer played like Animal from the muppets(only drunk). The only bright spot was the singer...WHO ISNT EVEN IN THE BAND!(She's subbing while the actual singer recovers from cancer). Symphony X were ok. Not mind boggling or anything.

Next show: Progressive Nation tour opening night! 3, some shit band, Opeth, and Dream Theater all playing at the Gibson in LA. Woooooooooooooow. Opeth and Dream Theater blew my mind as expected, but I didn't expect 3 to do the same. They were really good and I'm going to start listening to their stuff more.

Lastly, Manchester United are 3 points ahead of Chelsea going into the final game of the season(Chelsea haven't played Newcastle yet). COME ONE UNITED!

32 nations enter, 1 nation leaves champion. It's the World Cup baby and it's on now. The US plays the Czech Republic on Monday(I'll be taping the game, but listening to it at work) and hopes are high that our boys will upset the European Championship runner up. After that we have Italy and Ghana. Not exactly an easy group for th US. We'll still be hoping for the best. USA, USA, USA

So Bruce Arena named his provisional 23-man squad for the World Cup today and I, like many other fans out there, was shocked to see Taylor Twellman was left off the main roster(he is on the list of alternates). Why is Twellman, one of our better players, being left off in favor of Brian Ching? I don't know, maybe it's the fact that he's an ex-San Jose player, but for some reason I don't agree with picking Ching. He didn't look like a good player during the qualification process and he's more or less a one dimensional player. Why him over Twellman?

And why is John O'Brien on the roster when he's not played more than 15 games in the last 2 years? I'm a huge fan of O'Brien's, but come on! We need a fit team to take on Italy, Czech Rebublic, and Ghana. Right now, O'Brien isn't fit and should stay home this time around
