Preview 9 of Roads' 11 Tracks Here! LINKS TO "ROADS"1. "ROADS" @ THE CAS LUCAS ONLINE STORE2. "ROADS" @ ITUNES MUSIC STORE ..
3. "ROADS" @ AWARESTORE4. "ROADS" @ CD BABYPRICING...47 Records firmly believes that major labels are overcharging for CD's, as we usher in the age of digital music. Many more Cas fans buy his music from Itunes rather than ordering CD's, so we've decided to keep the CD retail price the same as Itunes, under 10$. (cool right?) What every music fan doesn't realize is that MP3's don't sound nearly as good as what you get on an audio CD. BUY THE CD! It really does rock. Single song purchases can be made through ITUNES, for those of you Reps that have certain songs from "Roads" and just want to pick up the others. Honestly, every cut on this record is killer. Or hey, if you're a Cas fan and liked what you've heard so far... then you're totally gonna trip over the songs on "Roads." I'm so proud of Cas and the boys for doing what they are. Click the "cas on the radio" link @ caslucas.com to check out a list of stations that are already playing "Feel You" the first single from "Roads." Exciting stuff! If those stations are in your area, call in and request Cas Lucas! You guys, as always, rock it. Jen

I'm sure you guys saw this already from the main post. Cas Reps in Indiana need to take point on this, so we can have a strong showing @ the Summit. It's gonna rock! Hit me back, and we can make a game plan! I hope some of you guys from other states in the Midwest might consider coming out too. (you know who you are.) A strong showing from Cas fans here could mean a major label deal for our boy! So please write me back here or email reps@caslucas.com. If I don't get back for a couple days, it's because I'm slammed with Cas on tour stuff, but I'll get back to you by the weekend! Midwest Music Summit, one of the world's largest music industry conferences and A+R showcases, has chosen Cas Lucas to join the many talented artists from all over the world performing at the 2006 summit in Indianapolis, Indiana. Cas's Midwest Music Summit performance is at the summit's "Monon Coffee Stage"... on Saturday, August 12th @ 2:40pm. It will be an ALL AGES, FREE SHOW! For full details visit the Midwest Music Summit website. The street address of the venue and show details can be found there or @ caslucas.com.We hope all you Cas fans from Indiana and the Midwest will come out and represent Cas @ the show on Saturday, August 12th... This is a big deal, and we'd love to see some friendly faces out there among the music industry big wigs! (let's get the guy a record deal by cheering for him like he's Elvis! Whadaya say?!?) Conferences like this one and it's cross-country equivalent, Austin's prestigious South By Southwest Music Festival, have been the jumping off point for many a successful recording artists' career. Representatives from all sizes of record labels will be on hand, scouting for new talent. Good stuff, Jen reps@caslucas.com

Hey all,
I wanted to write real quick and thank everybody that took the time to vote for me on DMB's opening act poll. Jen says we got a lot of emails, and we'll be sending out your prizes really soon.
I'm sure that winning is a long shot, since there are major label artists out there with millions of fans, but hey. You never know.
Thanks again, folks.
I'm doing well... Busy working on the new record and gearing up for Spring and Summer tours. Hope to see all you SoCal folks down in LA for my show at Hotel Cafe next week.
I'm always curious what bands you guys are listening to that I might not know about, since I'm a music FAN first and foremost. Shoot me a myspace message or email (cas@caslucas.com), and let me know.
Some folks I'm listening to and digging...
justinfarren.com
julianvelard.com (friend from college)
soulive.com (other friend from college)
amoslee.com (just great)
luceband.com (best band from SF. I'm working w/ their producer on the new CD)
Ok..

Reps and friends of Cas... Our beloved DMB has a poll going on their official website, allowing fans to suggest their favorite artists to open the next DMB tour. Needless to say, I bet we all think Cas would be great and deserves the chance to get turned on to a larger audience.
So here's what we're gonna do. I'm really hoping that we can rally around and get our friends involved with this.
The Get Cas On Stage With DMB Campaign 2006:
They only let you submit once per email address, and you get to pick 5 bands that you'd like. After you list Cas ..1, you'll also get a chance to help out your other favorite bands/artists. (of course, you could just enter a million fake email addresses. It doesn't send any kind of varification email back, so each entry will be counted.)
First and foremost, stop by http://dmband.com/surveys/OpenerSurvey.asp and vote a few times yourself.
From there, here's what we're going to do....
Send me the name and email address of 10 friends who voted, and we'll send you a free unreleased MP3 from Cas's vault
Send me name and email address of 25 friends who voted, and we'll send you the track and a free pack of CL stickers
Send me the name and email address of 50 friends who voted, and we'll send you a free copy of "Giving it Back"
Send me the name and email address of 100 or more friends who voted, and we'll send you a free copy of "Giving it Back" and PUT YOU DOWN FOR A FREE COPY OF CAS'S NEW DISC. And you'll get it way before it's officially released commercially.
Thanks so much for jumping on this, guys. I know I can count on you to make this go. Just send out an email, and this thing will take off on its own. You can send me your entries on MySpace or via email.

Friends,
Hey there. I'm back in Florida for a few days, chilling out with my family and old friends, and taking a step back from what has been a very busy, cool, and interesting 2005 for me, the rest of us in the band, and the CL team.
Let me just say what I huge boost it has been to connect with all you awesome folks here on MySpace. Jen's a very busy girl these days, and we're all psyched to be getting such a great response from all you true music fans. I want to give a particular shout out to the whole DMB community on MySpace, since I understand that's where a lot of you found you way to my tunes. How about that Dave Matthews Band... The first time I saw them live was in 1994 in a small club (since closed) in Orlando called the Edge. It was right when UTAD was starting to break but before they had a video on MTV. Man... that show kicked my ass and that of all my friends. I was at my peak of being into Dave, was right up front getting my groove on, and it was honestly the best live music experience I've ever had. (that I was on the receiving end of) I remember at the time I had "So Much to Say" on a couple low quality live tapes and was really getting into it... They hadn't been playing it for years, but they busted it out for the first time that night. I, to say the least, was pumped.
Anyhow... Dave. I saw the band with the Black Eyed Peas and Jem at SBC Park in SF (big stadium where my beloved and misunderstood Giants play...BTW, Barry Bonds will pass Hank Aaron, and yes, he is on steroids, and so what. We live in the future now, and everything is big and weird) It was a great show... made even cooler due to the fact that my friend from college/jam buddy from music classes, Eric Krasno of Soulive, sat in with DMB for a big part of their set. If you guys don't know Soulive, check them out. They move audiences around and keep it beyond funky. Eric was a star even back then, fronting the band Lettuce that played clubs and parties all around the area. Boy is sick.
I'm really looking forward to seeing the Mayer Trio open for Phil and Friends on New Years in SF. I hear John is covering Jimi Hendrix's 1969 NYE Band of Gypsies set... I think he'll rip it up... in a good way. I have to openly confess to liking John Mayer's music. (certain songs must of course be skipped... but I won't name names) Did you guys know that I was asked to audition for JM's band back in 2002, when they were replacing their 2nd guitarist? I went down to LA, played City Love and My Stupid Mouth with John and the band... it went well... but they wanted somebody that doubled on keys. I played fine and got along with everybody, but they must have found 100 guys who did just as well. Anyhow... it was a cool experience, and I'm glad I did it. I often wonder if that's as close as I'll ever come to "making it" though. What does that even mean anymore in this wierd record industry? I'm willing to accept so many different levels of success.
I often light a single candle and cry quietly to myself... just kidding. Enough serious stuff.
Here are some other albums that I think are pretty cool these days:
All time favorites that I've been busting out: Hendrix... anything and everything. The Band: new box set is sick. Grateful Dead... listening to Dead shows is just something I'll always do. Paul Simon: Graceland and Rhythm of the Saints. Robert Johnson.... nuff said.
New Stuff.... I like Amos Lee's record. My friend and CLB guitarist, Stephen Inglis just made a great disc. I like the Mayer Trio album... he makes great decisions about what to release when. I'm really enjoying the CD by local acoustic band, Green and Root... They're very Indigo Girls, which is cool. It's not a cover to cover listen, but some songs are really sweet. What else? Luce... I'm working with Adam Rossi, the producer and keyboardist from Luce, and their new record is really good.
Speaking of the studio... Weehoo. For all of you that have bought my CD's... All of that money and every other penny I have is going into the new CLB record. Put it this way, we're in the rough tracking stages, and the raw sketches we've made of the songs are better than anything I currently have out there on CD. Stay tuned you guys. I don't know what this CD will do for us all in the end, but I can tell you that it's going to make all my other recordings sound like demos.
ok... Have I said yet that I am very grateful that all 2000+ of you have jumped on board? As Jen likes to say (correctly), it's really up to the fans these days what bands make it and what bands don't. The record industry will always have the 10 artists in each genre that it plugs into the MTV/major radio Matrix each year, but the rest is on ya'll. Step up and support the up and coming bands that you love. Whether it's me, your favorite local band, or an artist you see teetering on the brink of commercial success.
Tours: More. Many. Soon. Sit tight, and I'll be in your town before you know it.
So that's my rant. If I forgot to say thank you, thank you. Happy holidays to all you guys and gals. My CD "Giving it Back" makes a great Christmas gift... so stop by www.cdbaby.com/caslucas and pick one up. I hope you're with the folks you love, having a great time.
This is my first blog post, and I don't see a spell checker. Trust me, I'm actually literate. ;)
All the best,
CL
