Lost soul spinning out of control Nowhere to run Nowhere to hide No one there to guide
Speak your mind Sometimes you fall behind Never give up hope Even if you may feel like a dope
Never see things as they are Knowing this will get you far Question many things Never let love get in the way Or you will be prey
There is hope for the hopeless This I must confess I've seen many things So many people shining like diamond rings
Then something happens and they fall of track It's so hard to get it back

They are waiting for that day -
When Santa will bring them toys,
Guessing what might they get -
Those fortunate little girls and boys.
Some others look forward to less –
There is no Santa Claus for them,
Toys are the least on their minds –
Their broken lives need to mend.
Beautiful clothes they always wear –
Name brand only will they know,
Never to worry if they don’t fit –
While others go naked out in the cold.
People shopping for Christmas gifts –
Many family and friends for whom to buy,
Never thinking of a different fate –
Not everyone has a job on which to rely.
Christmas lights strung all over the house –
Drivers passing by, they are so bright,
The only light is a flickering candle –
Hiding their faces while parents fight.
Tucked into bed after end of day –
Pillows soft and blankets warm,
Kisses on their foreheads, saying good night –
All is safe, no fear of any harm.
Bullets flying in many directions –
Innocently striking a small child down,
Gangs roaming the streets at will –
While the poor little body waits to be found.
Put an angel on top of the tree –
Watch the lights flicker and blink,
Feel the warmth from the fireplace close –
Hot chocolate is prepared to drink.
Homeless person on the street corner –
Holding cup out to passerby’s,
Maybe a nickel or a dime will drop in –
Shivering in the cold so teary-eyed.
These pondering thoughts come to me –
As this Christmas season draws near,
Times have changed for so many folks –
Things aren’t like they were last year.
The one thing that is constant each year –
Is that Christmas is about a holy birth,
The coming of the Christ child for all who know –
That God loves His children all over this earth.
No matter the scene, be good or bad –
This event we celebrate the 25th of December,
Times have changed for many like no other -
And this will be a Christmas to remember!

Christmas lights that twinkle
In the cold December night;
Trees all dressed with tinsel
Are such a pretty sight.
Presents wrapped and labeled
And placed beneath the tree;
Children watch and wonder
What they may receive.
People running here and there
With little time to share;
Many have forgotten
Why Christmas time is there.
So many things to purchase,
So many things to do;
Have you stopped to think
What Christmas means to you?
For some it just means money
And how much they can make;
To others, just a ritual,
A game of give and take.
Christmas is more than this,
A time we all should share;
God’s son sent down to us,
Our sins for him to bear.
The love that he has shown,
The gift that he has given;
Should shine above all else,
At every Christmas season.

Be patient,
Be open minded.
Smile often,
Savor special moments.
Make new friends….
Rediscover the old ones.
Tell them that you love them…
And when you love them,
Feel it deeply.
Ignore worries, forget problems,
Pardon enemies, keep promises.
If you get more than one chance,
try again.
Prize your good ideas.
Try not to make mistakes,
And if you do, learn from them.
Be crazy.
Appreciate miracles when they happen.
Notice where the sun is in the sky,
Listen to the rain.
Watch for rainbows and falling stars.
Look for the beauty around you.
Smile with your heart,
Confide in others.
Give to others,
And be gentle with others, always.
Hope,
Desire,
Grow,
Work hard…. be yourself.
Be understanding when it’s needed.
Have confidence in life, have faith
Comfort a friend
Have confidence in yourself.
“ENJOY LIFE!!”

For the hay and the corn and the wheat that is reaped,
For the labor well done, and the barns that are heaped,
For the sun and the dew and the sweet honeycomb,
For the rose and the song and the harvest brought home
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
For the trade and the skill and the wealth in our land,
For the cunning and strength of the workingman’s hand,
For the good that our artists and poets have taught,
For the friendship that hope and affection have brought
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!
For the homes that with purest affection are blessed,
For the season of plenty and well-deserved rest,
For our country extending from sea unto sea;
The land that is known as the “Land of the Free”
Thanksgiving! Thanksgiving!

Sometimes silence is the sweetest song of all
When you go inside yourself, understand why you fall
What has happened to make you what you are
Count your blessings and wish upon a star
How to be better, not make the same mistakes again
Know who your demons are and how to hold onto a friend
How to do the right thing, and know love from lust
Hold onto a higher power, hold onto those you trust
Know when to bow your head and fall to your knees
When to stand tall and hold onto your beliefs
And sometimes let a dream go, to find that sweet release
And in that golden silence, God will grant you peace

When you are around
I feel I can take on the
World
When you speak
I Feel every word you
Speak
When you move
I feel every movement
You make
When you touch my hand
I feel that I can fly or just
Go on for miles
When your heart beats
I feel everyone of your
Heartbreaks
When you laugh
I can hear the tension in
Your voice
When you leave
my heart anticipates
The moment you will return

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire. He told his
employer-contractor of his plans to leave the house building business
and live a more leisurely life with his wife enjoying his extended
family. He would miss the paycheck, but he needed to retire. They could
get by.
The contractor was sorry to see his good worker go and asked if he
could build just one more house as a personal favor. The carpenter said
yes, but in time it was easy to see that his heart was not in his work.
He resorted to shoddy workmanship and used inferior materials. It was
an unfortunate way to end his career.
When the carpenter finished his work and the builder came to inspect
the house, the contractor handed the front-door key to the carpenter.
“This is your house,” he said, “my gift to you.”
What a shock! What a shame! If he had only known he was building his
own house, he would have done it all so differently. Now he had to live
in the home he had built none too well.
So it is with us. We build our lives in a distracted way, reacting
rather than acting, willing to put up less than the best. At important
points we do not give the job our best effort. Then with a shock we
look at the situation we have created and find that we are now living
in the house we have built. If we had realized, we would have done it
differently.
Think of yourself as the carpenter. Think about your house. Each day
you hammer a nail, place a board, or erect a wall. Build wisely. It is
the only life you will ever build. Even if you live it for only one day
more, that day deserves to be lived graciously and with dignity. The
plaque on the wall says, “Life is a do-it-yourself project.”
Who could say it more clearly? Your life today is the result of your
attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the
result of your attitudes and the choices you make today.

Our ego
helps us to be self-confident and successful. So it is our friend -
right? Wait a minute! There is another side to this. Our ego has an
inborn tendency to grow at high-speed. If we don't watch it carefully,
it soon becomes an inflated ego, damaging us more than we can imagine.
Does that mean it is always our foe? Certainly not, but as in many
aspects of our life, balance is what makes the difference.
Ego has a voracious appetite; the more you feed it, the hungrier is gets. - Nathaniel Bronner, Jr.
Anytime there is a struggle between doing what is right and doing what seems right, your ego is interfering with your decision. - Darren L. Johnson
Whenever I meet such a "super hero," I feel sorry for him. He thinks he
is superior to others and knows everything about the when, where, how,
and why of every situation. He has all the answers and doesn't need
anyone else's opinion. But what he doesn't realize in his glory is that
he is living a dangerous life. Sooner or later he will make mistakes,
and no one's going to be inclined to warn him. His ego is his foe. What
makes us any different? Nothing, unless we realize how important it is
to keep our ego in check – unless we realize that remaining humble is
central to living a successful life.
What about your ego? Is it your friend or your foe?

Anger is a condition in which
the tongue works faster than the mind.
You can’t change the past,
but you can ruin the present
by worrying over the future.
Love…and you shall be loved.
God always gives His best to those
who leave the choice with Him.
All people smile in the same language.
A hug is a great gift… one size fits all.
It can be given for any occasion
and it’s easy to exchange.
Everyone needs to be loved…
especially when they do not deserve it.
The real measure of a man’s wealth
is what he has invested in eternity.
Laughter is God’s sunshine.
Everyone has beauty
but not everyone sees it.
It’s important for parents to live
the same things they teach.
Thank God for what you have,
TRUST GOD for what you need.
If you fill your heart with regrets of yesterday
and the worries of tomorrow,
you have no today to be thankful for.
Man looks at outward appearance
but the Lord looks within.
The choice you make today
will usually affect tomorrow.
Take time to laugh, for it is
the music of the soul.
If anyone speaks badly of you,
live so none will believe it.
Patience is the ability to idle your motor
when you feel like stripping your gears.
Love is strengthened by working
through conflicts together.
The best thing parents can do
for their children is to love each other.
Harsh words break no bones
but they do break hearts.
To get out of a difficulty,
one usually must go through it.
We take for granted the things
that we should be giving thanks for.
Love is the only thing that can be
divided without being diminished.
Happiness is enhanced by others
but does not depend upon others.
For every minute you are angry with someone,
you lose 60 seconds of happiness
that you can never get back.
Do what you can, for who you can,
with what you have, and where you are.

Some folks ride the train of life looking out of the rear Watching life roll by year after year Sitting sadly remembering wasting the days gone by Cursing their life for what it was as they hang their heads and cry
Not concerning myself with that I look at a different vent Looking forward to what life holds not on what has been spent
Strap me to the engine securely as I can be I want to be out front where I can see
I want to feel the winds of change blowing in my face Wanting to see what life unfolds as I move form place to place
I want to see what coming my way not dwelling on the past Life's to short for yesterdays moves along way to fast
If the ride gets to bumpy while you're looking back Move up front your life has jumped the track
It's alright to remember things of the past that's part of history Up front thought is where it is happening that's a great mystery
The enjoyment of life is where we have been It's looking forward a year and ten
In searching our byways never should we refrain If we want to live life We must drive the train

I am sorry! We all make mistakes. We know of course that the problems caused by our mistakes can be alleviated with a simple "I am sorry," but we don't use these words. We prefer to wait awhile and think the problem will go away. But that only makes things worse. There is no better way to clear the air than to say, "I am sorry," and the sooner the better. Why are we so reluctant to use these magic words?
An apology is the superglue of life. It can repair just about anything. - Lynn Johnston
Never ruin an apology with an excuse. - Kimberly Johnson
Those three words either get stuck in our throats or come out sounding fake and insincere. Why is that? Do we think that saying "I am sorry " is an act of weakness? It isn't – it's a sign of strength. We could also look at it from another angle. To say "I am sorry" (if we really mean it) is the best way to prevent us from spending a lot of time and negative energy on something that is so easily fixed. We should use the three words more often, even if it hurts a bit. It could hurt much more later.

Some never believe me
But at least I know it’s true
When I speak those four little words
Honey, I love you!!!!
Some never believe me
But I know it’s a fact
And there is nothing any sweeter
Then when I hear it coming back
Some never believe me
But I feel it in your kiss
And that is the feeling
That I never want to miss
Some never believe me
About love finding its way
But you can believe me
That yours is here to stay
Some never believe me
But, love can never be measured
But believe me my love
Yours will always be treasured
Some never believe me
But I pray I’m believed by you
For when I say “I Love You”
There is nothing ever more true

The gentle breeze of summer
The sweet smelling flowers of spring
The love I carry inside my heart
The sheer beauty beheld in everything
The laughter of a small child
The sun that shines so bright
The air that we all need to breathe
The stars that fill up the night
The rippling of the water
The sky so big & blue
All these wonderful things
Remind me so much of you
A big ole field of clover
The magnificent pale moonlight
The birds that gracefully sing
You’re never to far from my sight
You are the love of my life
And darling you’ll always be
These are just a few little reminders
That we were meant to be

Next To Nothing
As the shadows cast upon the luminating sky
I envision many tears falling and passing by
If only we could conquer our biggest fears
it would make everything more clear
As the gentle winds brush upon my face
I feel nothing but empty space
As if I have found the forgotten place
Knowing many can't truly see
the great depths of me
I still hold onto faith and believe
I can still succeed and achieve
Knowing there are many out there without a home
I feel as I am a dog without a bone
Nothing to chew
or not knowing what to do
Self expression comes and goes
from where no one knows
I wish I knew where to go from here
knowing I feel a deep presence that's clear
I only feel regret, temptation and self pity
that though has never been in me
I wonder who I can truly be
~Chelle~
