The nice people at Fairtilizer recently interviewed us and also asked us to put together a playlist of some cumbia sounds.  We tried to put up a nice mix of classic cumbias, tracks from our friends in Buenos Aires, selections from Bersa Discos releases, and a few other goodies.  Check it out:

BIG UP TO AL GORE AND THE WHOLE CURRENT TV CREW FOR THIS ONE. It's crazy!

We're not exactly sure why the folks at FADER magazine love our little record label so much, but we're sure glad that they've sent so much love our way.  For their latest issue they enlisted renowned beatsmith DJ Rupture to venture down to Buenos Aires and check out our old cumbia-laden stomping grounds.  Besides mentioning our pals at Zizek and folks like El Hijo de la Cumbia and Vampiros, Rupture also saw fit to write a little something about Bersa Discos toward the end of the article.

Last week local paper the SF Weekly handed out their annual "Best Of" awards and named the electro-cumbia heard at Tormenta Tropical the Best New Dance Club Genre for 2008.

On top of that, last Friday they also ran a little Q&A with our very own Disco Shawn.
