Hey everyone!
It's been a long and crazy summer and it feels even longer since i've posted anything on our site. But don't be confused. By no means have we been slacking with our musical ambitions!
After our fiery praformace this past May at the Elbo Room, Jake and I jumped right back into a feverish ferenzy of writing new material for the coming of our two new song-brothers (Mr. Tim Maguire on lead guitar, and Mr. Brad Haptas on bass guitar) who broke out from the drone of their scholarly doom to take on playing with Jake and I full time.
Almost immediatly on June 22nd Timmy joined us on stage at North Beach and wailed out a barrel full of new tunes to our biggest croud of melted faces yet. After that it was back down to the basement with our new bass player Bradly for the beginning of the grueling process of writing and refining the songs that will eventually appear on our first EP set to debut in late October.
Quickly and quietly we played a number of unpromoted shows here and there to make sure we had exactly what we wanted out of our new found sound and bandmates before we started recording. Sure enough even when it was only played to a handfull of people, everyone said and knew we had something very special and very new in our hands.
So keep an eye and an ear out for us in September! We have one more show lined up and then it's off to Clava Studios in Chicago. That's right, the very same where Modest Mouse recorded their album "The Moon and Antarctica." I'm hoping to channel some of Isaac Brock's sweet, twisted vibes while i'm there and take it home with me.
we love you guys! Make sure to come check us out September 13th at Dimito Time in Villa park with the sensational "The Glide". $7, 21+ @ 9:00pm. We'll be posting it soon on our page and will inform all yall of any changes or updates.
god speed
