Current mood:  groggy
As I pointed out in the last entry, this new location is going to allow us to expand our readings.  There will be at least one room dedicated to author readings during all con hours!

So if you are a local writer, or if you know a local writer, who might be interested in reading a sample of their work for a half hour head on over to our website and check out our instructions for considerations!  http://www.crypticonseattle.com/2010/writers2010.html

We strongly urge writers from British Columbia, Oregon, and east of the Cascades to apply!

Current mood:  excited
Crypticon will no longer be the first weekend of June.  It will be the third.  (That i s June 18-20 2010)  And it won't be in Seattle or Seatac either.

We have moved the event to the Holiday Inn in downtown Everett (3105 Pine street, Everett WA 98201)   It is centrally located, right alongside the Everett train and bus stations with shuttled running to the hotel.  If you're coming from Portland or from Vancouver, B.C. I strongly urge you to take the train, it is an awesome experience!

The facilities are spectacular and will allow us more room for author readings, a bigger and better costume contest, a FASHION SHOW, an AWESOMELY laid out dealer room (seriously, guys, you are going to love that!)  Our film rooms will be a hundred times for convenient and we will have the chance to offer you so much more!

Plus, we will be running a bar, the hotel has a bar, and we are encouraging room parties.

We're also in talks with some big named stars, ones you will be dying to meet!  (Ok, I'll lay off the puns)

So change the date on your calendars and get ready to party at the best horror event in the Pacific Northwest!

Current mood:  excited
Hello, all, on this dreary winter Tuesday here in the dreary Pacific Northwest.

I just wanted to let you all know that Crypticon is making some big plans and big changes this year.

We know that you have told you to save the first weekend of June in 2010 but the winds are blowing different this year and it might be the third, not the first (that would be June 18-20 2010), weekend that we ask for your patronage.

In addition to the date change the location will certainly be different.  We have been scouting out hotels to allow for more room, more entertainment and more "refreshments" this time around.  While this probably means that we will no longer be located centrally in downtown Seattle we have kept our non-driving members in mind and are working to make sure that public transportation is a viable option no matter where we end up.

We are also planning to change the make up of our programming.  Instead of a large group of actors we're shooting for simply a few big named film and television stars and will be supplementing with local talent as well as more writers and artists this time around.  John Skipp and Cody Goodfellow will be back and they might be bringing a friend or three along for the ride.  Our Bizarro friends from Eraserhead Press plan on attending and blowing your mind with even more elaborate readings and performances.  In addition to our tattoos, this year we're making sure that piercing will be going down as well.

And THOSE are just a small taste of things to come!

As always please let us know if you have a horror event you think we need to have posted on our calendar of events.  Anything you want can be added to this so don't hesitate to tell us!  We are always looking for volunteers and offer fabulous benefits to those willing to offer us their labors.  No good deed will go unrewarded around these parts!  Check out our volunteer page if you think there is anything you can do for us!

WOW! Is one word that can easily describe this year's event!

What a weekend, in only our second year, Crypticon Seattle was incredible. We want to "Thank" all of you who made it out to the Seattle Center to check out this Convention. The turn out and response to this growing event has solidified the fact the Seattle wants and deserves a Annual Horror Event.

The Vendor Room, Guest Room, Exhibits, Movies, Panels and Q&As where all very well done and and very well attended. We want to thank each and everyone of you, our volunteer staff and the Seattle Center for helping to make this years' event first class all the way.

Pictures will be up soon!

We are already in production for 2010. We will be updating the web-site over the next couple of weeks with all kinds of information, pictures, testimonials, location and times.

The dates for Crypticon Seattle 2010 are June 4-6, 2010.

We would like you to send us your photos, video and any positive feedback that we may use in promoting next years' event. Send them to billwsm@comcast.net

Thanks again for all your support!
