The Let There Be Night DVD for friends of dark skies has come out, with the first 750+ copies going around the world to members of the International Planetarium Society. Some US planetarium associations will provide their members with copies, too. Ask your local planetarium or astronomy club to get its hands on a copy of the DVD to show parts of it in your town.
A highlight of the Let There Be Night video is immediately after the credits, when Galileo cites some lyrics from "Lucifer's Bait" by Bandazian. Watch it to the end
Meanwhile, in northern Indiana, an entire community is preparing for a collective science experiment to quantify how much of the night sky we've already lost. See www.LetThereBeNight.com.
