I finally wrote something in my forever-in-progress book tonight.  It's the first thing I've written in it in years... it might stay or it might go, but at least things are happening again.

you can read a really short new chapter (a "free sample," if you will) here.

This is a pretty crazy little flash movie of what it would be like if Mario (from the nintendo games) was a revolutionary or something.  It's pretty stylized, and reminds me of if he were Russian or maybe the hero of Les Miserables Part II.

This is a really interesting audio positioning techology demo.  It's for "Holophonic" sound.... you need headphones to get the effect though.

So this is pretty exciting.  I've been a fan of Futurama ever since the first episode.  And frankly, I think it's probably the best animated show ever - at least I definitely prefer it to The Simpsons.

So that said, I'm very happy to hear that Futurama has apparently been renewed for another 26 episodes.  It was cancelled in 2003, but the DVD sales and its popularity on Cartoon Network must have given it the boost it needed to rise from the dead.  Hopefully it ends up being on even longer... I wonder what network it'll be on (I'm guessing FOX - especially since it would be WAY better to have that on Sunday nights than that stupid War At Home show).

It'll be nice to hear Billy West doing some voiceovers again... makes me want to go pick up a copy of Ren and Stimpy on DVD!

Here's a link to the news article - including news about Simpsons and King of the Hill too.

So I posted a good chunk of photos from Hope and my trip to Oregon last week.  If you want to see them, click the link below for my flickr slideshow:

I know there aren't a lot... but that's what we have.  All but one are from our day at the coast... although I MIGHT have a few more on my phone.  I'll check at work tomorrow.
