Current mood:  artistic
Friends, Family and Fans,

The Buddhi would like to say thank you to all who have supported us over the few short years we have been together. We are privileged and honored to have all of you in our lives.

Some of you may have wondered where we have been for the last few months, not hearing a peep from this group. Currently, Andrew is studying in Spain, but will be returning to Ithaca in January.  The remaining members have been playing, touring, and recording with The Big Mean Sound Machine, The Temple Rockers, Beat the Grid, Jsan and the Analogue Sons and several other projects, and we are all far from finished with The Buddhi after this brief hiatus.

The Buddhi has been slaving away in the Blue Sky and Farm St. Studios working on its next release "II" which should be out in the Spring of 2010. This record will feature such tracks as "Vacancy Blues," "Quit your Cryin" and many other brand new tunes from this funky bunch. The album will have some guest musicians and many new sounds, packaged up to create a dynamic and fresh new offering.

The new Buddhi record "II" will be released under the new independent record label that the Farm St. Crew is opening in the Spring of 2010. This new label will feature other artists such as The Big Mean Sound Machine, The Bobby Spellman Trio, The Brett Bearslee Trio and other projects from this hefty roster of young funky artists. We are taking ideas for names for the label, so please give us some feedback!

Once again we want to thank you all for helping us along the way and we hope to make more music for all of you to enjoy for many years to come. Please check out members of the Buddhi in these other fresh groups (all on myspace also);

The Big Mean Sound Machine: Angelo on Basses, Andrew on Drums, Rob on Organs and Rhodes, Pat on Percussion, Remy on Bari Sax, Emily on Tenor Sax, and Bobby on Trumpet (among several other very talented players)

Beat The Grid: Pat on Basses, Bobby on Trumpet, Emily on Tenor Sax

The Bobby Spellman Trio: Bobby on Trumpet, Pat on Bass, Angelo on Drums

The Temple Rockers: Bobby on Trumpet

Jsan and the Analogue Sons: Angelo on Clavinet, Wurly, and Organs

Desolation Angels (on tour with Melvin Seals & JGB 12/5-12/12): Andrew on Drums (when not in Europe, hahaha)

Thanks Again!!! Much love, and we hope you all enjoyed a happy Thanksgiving!!!  New live soundboards posted on our Myspace and facebook profiles!!!!!

Best Regards,

Current mood:  accomplished
Buddhiheads,

We're real psyched to let you all know about our second record which we've been tracking for the past week back out at Blue Sky Studio in Hector, NY and which we're hoping to get out to you all sometime during summer '09 (hopefully towards the sooner end). If you thought the last one was hip, wait till you dig this to see how quickly you pitch a tent... Anyway, check out our dates to see where we're off to and be sure to let your friends know when we're rolling through their towns. Also, it wouldn't hurt if anyone decided to email the organizers of Grassroots requesting for them to put us on the bill. We sent a press kit, but the voices of the children sing louder than even the angels, or so we were told. You can contact them at info@grassrootsfest.org and i'm sure they'd love to hear from you. Thanks ; )

Love,

~The Buddhi

greetings Buddhi Buddies,

we have recently updated some of the music on our page to include two fresh tracks from our recently pressed record, "What's Shakin'" so be sure to check those out... and if you dig them, we'll be selling the hour-long, eleven track disk at our shows or just around in the streets for an unbelievably affordable price of only $6!!!!! we've sold nearly a sixth of the first batch of CDs we had pressed in our first week since receiving them from the manufacturer, so get them quick while they're still hot and available. or don't and kick yourself in the face later. and be sure to tell us when you do so we can get our bud MaxSamis to document the event photographically. thank you all so much for the support thus far, you will be hearing from us in the future.
