Another sunrise with Chrissy.! But we missed it. Up on time, straight to the park and cloudscloudsclouds. It was fuhreezing but that made the pancakes afterwards extra delicious.

Mmmm. My friend Chrissy and her coffee.
Coffee pouring.
Tip toes and pancakes.

Been in the studio like crazy lately! Trying to clear my schedule as much as possible during the day to focus on this album. A lot of wonderful progress, acoustic guitar today. 4-5 songs are pretty solid (minus the vocals). We need another session for recording piano, and a few live sessions for string players and brass players. You know any violinists? I'm lookin:)

Tea and lamp glass reflection.
Hedge and two branches they forgot to trim.
Albright-Knox Art Gallery sign.

Getting the live show together is a fun chore as well. Don't want to learn songs on my own but practicing with Dave, Tim, and Mark is like eating candy! I swear if Harmony had calories I would be a killer whale. What is the last song you got stuck in your head like crazy? I'm absolutely loving Owl City - Fireflies...

So easy to get distracted! I fall into the trap every time. Bed? Why not stay up? Gotta be somewhere? Why not get one more thing done?

Spider web in purple

Haha and so it goes. I will learn one day to shun anything that does not fall in line with focus. Until then, you'll be getting pictures;)

Headed over to the Marina with Stephen and Tom to take some gorgeous sunset pictures, and this past Saturday hit up the falls with Chrissy for the sunrise! It was beautifully unreal.

Purple-Blue Sky

The album is hopping along. Drum tracks are all done, and that's the hardest part. No vocals done yet but some songs are ready for that last step. They sound lush, clear, full, and solid to my ear so I am hoping they fill you with the same happiness they've been filling me with.

Our goal with this album is to play college gigs, roll in college radio, and spread the music like wildfire. Will you help?! With one low monthly payment of $TELLYOURFRIENDS you'll receive a nice big hug from me. And If you tell your friends in the next 15 minutes, we'll throw in another hug at no extra cost.

Haha thanks for listening. You know I love making music, so it's a beautiful cycle when you take in the creativity I'm pouring out.

New album drops within the next three months. And whoosh we're gonna ride that waterfall. Hop on

Current mood:  blessed
I went for a ride through the countryside today. Beautiful, gorgeous, can't get enough of this weather. I hear summer got here fashionably late so I'm hoping winter follows suit.
The one purpose for today's drive? Find pictures to take. Do you ever fly by a picture perfect opportunity and just keep on rolling? Easy to do when our lives busy up so quickly. Runnin from place to place, only allowing a quick glance at this gorgeous world before we slide back inside and hide in our rooms.
First stop: apple orchard.
Middle of apple orchard.Beautiful blue apples.Apple tree leaf up close and personal.
And those trees weren't kidding either, the apples looked perfect.
Across from the orchard was a set of three colors, green ground, red barn, blue sky. All blurred out because I was still fixing focus. But I like it anyhowww.
And a flower with seeds that are all connected by threads that remind me so much of a spider with a.d.d. Get that fly, Charlotte.
Redd barn. Greenn grass. Bluee sky.Seeds.
I stopped by another barn after a drive by and a quick uturn ( how do you spell U Eee?! U. E.? U-ey.) The world was sitting pretty and waiting for its picture to be taken.
The cracks in the window glass look like a snowflake!Star-shaped crack in the glass.
Drama.
Glass cracked sun reflection.
Gawjus day.
Self portrait from the grass.
The full barn and another sunlit self-portrait.

First off,
I want to make the promise to do this again.  To write updates as often as I can-
I’m speaking through a white microphone called a Blue snowball, just holding it in my hand sitting in my room in Buffalo, and I’ll type it up later.
So excited to tell you about this next album!  We’ve been working in the studio a bunch this summer – working with really talented drummers, recording grand piano and acoustic guitar so far.
The goal is to finish the whole album by the beginning of October, but there’s still a lot of work to be done.
The main feel of the album is definitely upbeat and rhythm driven piano poprock.  Fun to listen to…very catchy!  And a bunch of harmony.
So let me tell you a little about the songs -

We’ve done a song called Turn to Wise, pretty much straight up piano poprock (if you know chords, it’s based on 1M, 4M, 5M, and 6m) – you can hear the rough demo on my myspace [click here and scroll down to listen]
One of the first songs we recorded is in 7/8 time signature – and one of my favorite lyrics from the song is: “mother nature sits with a misdemeanor…”       For all of you who live in Buffalo you know exactly why we get frustrated with mother nature!>
The third song’s lyrics have a feel where you fly over the United States, dropping down into the ocean, popping up in Hawaii, then straight down south to the melting ice caps.  It’s a really really fun song and everyone in the studio agrees that the recording turned out really well.

All of these have a backbone of Drums, Piano and Bass – we haven’t fleshed them out yet so it’s a mystery even to me how they’ll stand out.  I’m sure we’ll be adding acoustic guitar and harmony, along with random instruments – we gotta give each song its own signature, its own personality.
Matt’s been really fun to work with, and I’m blessed with all the talent that surrounds this album.  I can’t wait to get it into your hands!
There’s nothing like completely finishing an album and just holding it in your hand, and realizing how much work it took but at the same time how simple it is for you right now to pop it into your CD player and take a listen!
I can’t wait to blast it.  I can’t wait to make music videos for all the songs.
It’s been a long time coming.  and I’m smiling so wide.
Thank you so much for enjoying my music:)

Had a week off. Realized it was ridiculous to not be sharing my music.

So it goes and so an answer is born.

I just started a website called Eddie's 1 minute.
I'm recording a minute of music, everyday, for an entire year.

Eddies1m.com is the link. New content everyday

Oh and I'm about to record another album.  So I'm out of hibernation, baby.  Enough of that.  Let's rolllllllll

ohmygoodness how do i do that??

If you're curious how I do this, read on
If you're not,
go on get outta here

A little loop pedal called the Digitech Jamman mixes both the mic and the keyboard together -
when I'm ready I hit the pedal on the downbeat and it starts recording. When I hit the pedal again on the next downbeat, it immediately starts loooping from the beginning. I can solo on top of it, or keep recording more to the main beat. I can add infinite layers, they all get summed down to one file, so for any given point in time there are TWO separate pieces of audio. The main loop that you've already put down or added to, and the newest loop you just created. The newest loop is added to the main loop when you tell it to stop overdubbing. Confused yet? It's simple. Go have fun with it. This kinda shit shouldn't be explained it should just be experienced. Whoops

There are a handful of loop pedals out there like the Boss RC-20 and the Boomerang, so read about a handful of them if you're considering buying one. They're addictive, fun as anything and they'll get you creative in a way you've never thought you could be.

Who's curious?!

Eddddison:)

I'm "Let Go" By Frou Frou.

Songs are all about emotion and the way they make you feel

Incredible how one song can just hit you.  Snap you back to the ground you've been floating above. Or send you shooting through the atmosphere like a rocketstar.

If you could BE one song. Freeze that moment and describe yourself to someone else using just a song

which one do ya choose which one do you choose.

WINNER we have a WINNER we have a WINNER
Thanks to EVERYONE who sent their pictures in to try to win the newest CD.  We must do it again sometime.

So this picture contest (pictest. Snapshest.) we had a few weeks back was a grand success and here are the winning shots.
But before I show em, I gotta explain this story
I get an email from this girl Abbey with her pictures she's submitting for the Snapshest and I'm liking them a lot.  In one of the pictures, though, I recognize a friend OF MY COUSINS who came to visit me at school for an incredible winter weekend.  So I'm thinking how in the world does this Abbey girl just happen to know the same girl that I met through my cousin a few months ago?
Fast forward to when my cousins visit my hometown, Buffalo.  We're all sitting around having a chat and I remember the picture and I throw it out in conversation that this girl that my cousin Amelia knows is in one of the Snapshest pictures.
I don't know if any of you can read faces well, but it was pretty apparent that I was missing something when I see Amelia smiling and looking around a bit, and then looking at my cousin Zach I see his mouth starting to curl.  and then the truth,
Amelia was the one who took the pictures and then sent them to me from a friend's email.  Stealth. :)
All of you participating in this fiasco are awesome, especially Amelia.  Free CDs for all of you.

The winning pictures:
