7/23 - Its our FINAL battle with the 89x "I'm with the Band" contest. We have made it into the finals and now we have a 1-in-6 shot at winning the $10,000 and studio time!! We are going to need your help one more time, then we promise we'll leave you alone for a while   Starting this Friday, go to www.myspace.com/89ximwiththeband and cast your vote for our song "Cradle to Fatal" once every day till the following Thursday. Online voting counts for 10% of the contest. It is SUPER important for us to have a killer crowd at the show Thursday night - crowd voting is 40% of the contest. The other 50% is broken down like this: 30% sound, 20% performance. We are up against some great bands so we need all the support and help we can get. You guys have helped us get this far, and we are forever grateful to you. Now we need you to come together one last time and help us WIN this thing!!

7/24 - The very next night is our cd release party @ The Hayloft (trust  us, we didnt plan for the finals to fall on this date ) Either way - it is going to be an amazing night that you dont want to miss. We have worked our asses off for the last 2 years to make this cd, and we are super proud of it. We will be celebrating with our very good friends and musicians Group Therapy, Avarice, Broken Day Machine, and Potty Mouth Sissies. We will be selling cd's at a discounted rate for this night only, as well as a variety of other Pilz merchandise.

So we have been busy, busy BUSY working to get our name out there and our cd finished. Lots of things to update you on - we recently signed with Wisely Management, who also manage Pistol Day Parade and Kardia, 2 great Detroit bands. We FINALLY finished our debut cd - it is called Hard to Swallow and is packed with 10 rocking, melt-your-face off tracks. We are really proud of the cd and can't wait to get it out there! Looks like our cd release party will be late July, hopefully at the Magic Bag - stay tuned.

Music Connection named us one of the "Hot 100 Unsigned Bands" a few months ago, and they recently came out to our shows to do another review on us. We will be posting that link shortly. We will also be appearing in next month's issue of Detroit Live again, after making the cover in January.

We have an in-studio interview with the Olin Ezra show May 3rd - we'll post that link as well - and Danni is going to be the face of a jewelry campaign that features the Detroit "D" this spring.

Lastly, we have entered the 89x "I'm with the Band" 3.0 contest - online voting for the songs start tomorrow, and we are battling it out with 4 other bands next Thursday at TNT's. $10,000 is on the line, plus studio time - and 40% of the contest is based on audience voting at the show. Soooooo.......we need all the help we can get!! If you live in the area, PLEASE come out and support us.

Lots of exciting things happening! We couldn't be more excited and we thank our friends and fans for all they have done to help and support us over the last year and a half. Is 2009 the year of The Pilz? We think so!!

Seeing as it is the season, just a few things we are very thankful for..............

The opportunity to meet some REALLY great people this year in other bands, some of who've become very dear friends. Broken Day Machine, Blackmail, Group Therapy, Avarice, The Guise, 94 West, Darling Down, Soul Circus, Mercury and the Madmen, Left for Dead, Tiles, and Overtow.....thanks for your friendship and for playing some of the most rockin shows with us this year!

Angelina Nikon, for taking some AMAZING pictures of us! If any bands need a photographer, I strongly suggest you hit up Angie - she is on our top friends

All of the great shows we've had an opportunity to play this year - thanks especially to the Dawghouse and the Bullfrog for always treating us really great.

Our new drummer, Jake, who just joined the band less than 2 months ago but seems like he's known us forever! I believe everything does happen for a reason, and I know that Jake was meant to be a part of this band. We love you Lord Z! :)

And lastly............all of our friends, family, and fans, especially those that have been there since the beginning and have come out to almost every single show. We appreciate you guys more than you could even imagine.
