Hey whats up folks , Bredrins peeps fam supporters and loved ones.

Well first things i got that award for best video performance for "This is my America" thanks again for all the people that helped make that dream possible I was blessed to work with a creative film director Joshua Bee, who helped make me vision come to life

Secondly im working on my new project really exicted i already recorded 4 rough draft songs, i love the vibe its going to be alot more upbeat i been through a whole bunch of experiences and situations so you know me im a talk about it.

All folks who got love in your heart a beg you send positive thoughts and prayers to lil Jasmina who is need of a heart, but is currently in hospital again and has to get better before she can actually get the operation done now.

So back to the new track "When I C U Smile" it was produced by my man Cherok from London as soon as i heard that beat i was like yep i need to have that. big shouts out to my man B Sharp for connecting us together.
I have allways had a respect for Cherok and im happy we got to work together.

The singer on their is my favourite RnB singer in New York "Songlist" you gonna be hearing alot about him the bwoy badd, he came through the Bronx LIBB studio and laced that for me.

Allways have to give a huge shout out to the engineer and mixer my big homie Lord Itill again came and gave the bizness. ALso shout out to Tanyika for comming through and adding that sex appeal gurl, watch out for her new songs going to be  a problem.

So "When I C U Smile " is a bitter sweet song for me really. I had never been inspired to make a love song before ever i have kinda made love songs between to a mother to his mom but not to a lady. I guess i was never inspired to do so before.

So i thank you miss for that, and i guess i mean everything i said in the song i cant take it back cause thats how i felt at the time,so i thank you for that.
Its funny how life is , and the person that very musch inspired me , was the person that also really hurt me soo bad for a lifetime, and i guess changed me forever.

So i guess listening to it is hard right now, but i think its a heck of a song so i guess i have to thank you madame for the inspiration. Regardless of what happened afterwards.

Its a real wonderful thing when someone can just make you smile from ear to ear, and make you feel that no matter whats going on in the world they are there for you. I also dedicate this to all the beautiful female friends i have that show me soo much luv.
thank you ladies.

Also dedicate this to little Baby A, My two neices and my God daughter Lilly, you beautiful lilttle ladies make my smile inside and out.

So im out look out for the pics of Redman and Method Man wearing some one off "PaintSoul" exclusives. remember to check out http://www.myspace.com/paintsoul.

keep shining.

Whats up folks, peoples and fam.

How you been man, or as they say in London Wha gwaning.
So remember album is out "Diamond in the dirt" still on Itunes, Cdbaby and all that good stuff.

So Keep Shining was produced by my man my brother Lord Itill in the Bronx. Its funny cause when i heard this beat i kinda didnt know what to do with it for the longest time. It was months later that i was like yeah i can rock with this. The beat was kinda different but reminded my of a grime type track.

i wanted that DJ effect so i got out good peoples DJ Flava King on it. He a good dude and does alot of big parties in Manhatten and the Bronx. Also i got I's little girl on there lil Kiki to do my ablibs.

i do alot of work with kids so i just wanted to do a song that wasent to adult and deep, just a vibes thing.

Keep Shining was shot a year ago in different locations around the Brpnx, something i wanted to do cause thats the first place i came to when i landed in NY.
I Its called the lost video cause it werent finished , im not going to through any salt on the game. But my friend/ director didnt come through for me like he was suppose to, and was really one of the biggest disapoinments for me this year.
But i wish you well regardless my brother.

So i had to keep it moving and out out what we had, cause the people needed to see something.

The star of the video is lil baby A. she was 2 years in the video and rocking like a pro, she actually knows th words to the song too. So in the video you see im smiling and having having fun, its something i wanted to put across because my other videos are real serious.

Big up also to my man Cartier who killed it with the tap dancing in the video, look oout for that brother he is the truth right there bwoy. Big up all the people that came through for me Lord Itill, Tan'yika J grier , Kiara,  and my Bx fam.

Regardless of who dissapoints you, or what the world throws at you, do you and do what you do best regardless and KEEP SHINING.

Whats up folks friends, peoples and fam.

Firstly like to say a big thank you to those who voted for me for the SLMTV awards down in Maryland. I apprieate the support i won best Hip Hop video performance, so i was pleased with that.

Its been a real wierd year good friends done turned, love came went and self destructed in a wild blase. The one thing that has been constant is that i really went in, interms of praying fasting training etc.

Spirtually i got to a new place i have never been on totaly dependence on the higher power. My mom allways says that denial is not delay. So i had to eat alot of dissapointments setbacks and heartache this year.

But im stil here im standing, all praise to the most high i didnt fold, lose my mind or most importantly my soul. I felt like the Will Smith character in "Pursuit of Hapyness".
But as usual this where all my songs come from hence "Dream Hard". "This is my America", "Ride".

Some tiimes it takes huge situations for you to find out who really is in your corner, and who real loves you or has love for you. The most important thing is that you must ALLWAYS be there for you. Cause when the smoke clears at the end of the day its just you and the divine..

A Place of Refuge, is a documentary i wanted to do when the first album dropped but i guess that it just wasent my time then.

Those of you who have been following my story know that it is a complex up and down adventure. I just wanted to show a different side of hip hop and another side of me apart from my music.

I have been working alongside children since i came to America, and that is a big passion in my life as well as music and design. Infact i think that they have ben the ones teaching me all this time as well as inspiring me.

A place of Refuge wouldnt be possible without the hardwork of Drex from Product Of Society tv. This guy is the best i havent seen too many people with the passion drive and energy that he has.

Its been a minute to get done but i think its going to be worth it. Its a great landmark for me cause i allways wanted to do a documentary so i am soo proud and greatful that with Drex help we could bring this to reality.

So im trying to Holla at Oprah, Tyler perry  for real just give let me get a 15min meeting with em lol.
So hopefuly we willbe screening the doc in the fall so look out please. remember the album is here now " Diamond in the dirt", the video "This is my America" is on the youtubes etc and soon to be on some other big stations , but i will let you know about that.

check out the trailer

Current mood:  blessed
Hey whats up fam, peeps, supporters, dreamers and doers.. WHAT UP....

I know its been along time, its funny how sometimes life just gets in the way, this year has been a real challenge in all aspects.

I have lost a couple more people that were real close to me which is allways a hard thing. But i guess someone told me one time that Death or passing is the part of the contract we have to live that we dont read.

So i guess the parts in between is what we need to look at , and make sure we live to the best we can for ourselves, family and are world family as well as the people around us.

I think that the medias makes us focus on ourselves and are individual prosperity, and i guess keeping it real music kinda does that too.

I also got to shout out a good friend of mine that got out there and is serving time behind the jail wall. I know his situation and its made me come to the understanding that in the big scale of things jail and taking away someone's freedom for a mistake may not be the answer.

It got me thinking about millions of other people who due to circumstance, or situations just made a wrong decision to try an get what seems like away out.

Are these people criminals , or people trying to survive with the cards they were given.

And please dont get it wrong I AM IN NO WAY SAYING ITS RIGHT TO BREAK THE LAW, but i do understand, and i am by no way "holy than thou" lol. I have done things in the name of survival in my life.

So i guess i dedicate this to my homie, keep your head your head up know that im allways inspired by the people in my life to do better and create opportunities for my fam. I respect and im riding for you and your lil girl.. Salute.

So back to the music, thanks for all of thosse who have checked out the "This is my America"video, once again thanks to Mr Josh that help that dream come to life. I think its  a great and dramatic piece of art, i pushed myself way beyond for a music video to get into character etc. I am so proud of it and stand behind it, and for sure have the acting bug right now lol.

So thanks to the people that have support and spread the new album Diamond in the dirt"

The great think of not being on a big label is that you can make the music that you want to make , as well as the videos etc. I love being in this situation and just being able to make videos or music to what ever level i want to.

Im upset at for some reason, why i was bootlegged so much, i guess if i was on a big label then that wouldnt matter as much. But for some reason these bootleggers went hard on me, posting nearly all my songs on youtube, uploading my songs to websites, it was a lot.

Like i said alot of blockages man, also i should have been on my second video now, and i think that is one of the greatest upsets this year. The second video was for a song song "Keep Shining" i got a close person to do it for me LAST year.

I payed for th place to shoot had a whole bunch of people come through, shot in a school had mad kids dancing and getting light.

And i have nothing to show for it a year later, so it really messed up my whole flow for promoting this "Diamond in the dirt" album.

So im trying to get to a situation of making the follow up video, but there is so much other stuff going on, so im not going to give up i will get there, thanks for holding on folks.

so the new song "Dream Hard", was produced by my fam Lord Iltill features Augi who is one of the most soulful singers i know.

Itill played me the beat, and i fell in love with it straight away, the energy the feeling everything.

I felt it had a real electric kind of feel too it, so i had to break down my story.

I wanted to do a song that i could dedicate to the kids in Brooklyn afterschool that have been a huge part of my life.

Dream Hard, think big live free thats the legacy i want to leave.

The intro is taken from "The pursuit of happiness" which i think is one of the most realest and powerful statements i have heard in a movie before.

The lyrics speak for themselves, really listen i think its a me against the world anthem.

check it out leave comments etc.

I cant wait for you guys to see the documentary i done with "product of society" called "A place of refuge" thats another dream under my belt.

I think people love to tell you what you can do, how far you can go, and what you cab or cannot reach. I beleive that is all up to the most high and you and no one else, do what they told you, you cant look at Obama. But better yet start looking at yourself.

"DREAM HARD.THINK BIG.LIVE FREEEE". Chosan.

hold ya head, keep looking foward no matter what.

Current mood:  animated
Hey folks Whats up, Whats the deal.
I aint blogged in forever im sorry, and im back on my blog game.
So as you know this has been one up and down year but through it all, the good and the bad i got through with some good friends, supporters and fam and when i had to stand alone, i walked under the wings of the Big homie.

So the album is out right now At cdbaby.com/chosan, Amazon.com, Itunes, and all other good online stores.

So the title is "Diamond in the dirt". I wanted to give a shout out to everyone under the radar, everyone that has ever felt like its them against the world.
Even if your in a "Estate" building in London, to a "Project" building in America, or in a ghetto in Africa, Hati, Australia , Jamaica anywhere.

People allways tell you what you cant do, and what you will never be. Obama just broken down that myth. in the words of the homie Young Jezzy "sky is no longer the limit, so get your space suites out, we heading for the stars"...

I felt like i been fighting all my life, and been around ordinary people doing the same, nobody had no silver spoons, no one had no fathers, just hard working single mothers.
Who would work at least two jobs, and study. So there children could have a better future.

I named my Album "Diamond in the dirt" cause of the people i have met in my journey that began in Sierra Leone, West Africa, then to Canada, London and then to here New York.

I just wanted the people that i make music for, the people that are last, the have nots that have to fight for everything, to understand that as my Moms would say its NEVER how you start , but its about how you finish.

Never let the world, or your circumstance define who you are, use that fire, hurt and pain, to not make you bitter but to make you better. you all are Diamonds in the dirt.
Keep shining.

Wow whats up folks it has been a minute, but sometimes life in the real world just goes on its own clock.

So i just got out out hospital and being on bedrest for a week or so which was damn painful. It got a pinched nerve from a prior car accident that happen before the first album "Beautiful Side of misery".

Anyway thanks to all the well wishers , i appreiated the shout outs.

So i guess firstly i was in hospital when all the Sean Bell drama happened, so i couldnt comment straight away.
But if your a Black male anywhere in the worl then you will know that , the police injustice happens nearly everyday to someone. We lucky to hear about the high profile situations.

I myself have been half way jumped by undercovers in the west 4 area last year, its like they make the first move and then at the last minute they pulled out there badge.
Why cause the famous line "YOU FIT THE DESCRIPTION".

The BIG mistake they mad was that it was my female friends birthday . Which meant when the jumped me and throw me on the window all of my girlfriends at the lounge came out.

Any yall know you NEVER mess with an angry black woman, especially when there's 7 of them. The went OFF on them, started call laywers taking pics, remember that Cheryl, and Vivian ( You guys are the best ).

The funny thing after all the people came out in their suites and ties, the cops felt pressure, i will Always remember this the big fat one lol turned to me and say " yeah but you the same ones that calls us when you have a robbery etc". lol.
I said i aint called a police for anything in my life, apart for information on Dounght specials at "Dunkin Doughnuts lol.

Anyway peoples this is scary the bigger picture is that , without the whole "they trying to get us", we all targets man.

Cause i remember when i got stopped AGIAN at 34st one time with the "You fit the description" i asked what was the description they NEVER tell you.

Anyway the track " Im Sean Bell" was something i wanted to do, when i came off my bedrest i done it quick. Big shout tp my Bwoy producer P.N music from the UK for hooking me up with the beat, and Lord Itill for mixing it all down.
I had to put my 10 cent in their, the way i do.

So more Chosan news its kinda late but i am on a Track called "Desire" from the album "In the name of Love Africa celebrates U2 album. Its a dope track produced by the good folks at African Underground.
i really zoned out on my verse, im real proud of it. Also its big news for me, cause its a big project a bunch of grammy award artist re done songs done by U2.
I grew in London listening to their music, the are actually one of the biggest bands the world.

So the great part of this situation that we all helping Bono and them raise money for the global fund , to help raise money for action against aids.
I feel blessed that i making a difference, and really reppin and standing for something

So on other news im about drop the last installment of "Kanye tell me something".
There has been alot of going back and fourth. But i am not saying nothing till names are on checks. "I aint stupid" lol
PLS keep posting

Anyway peoples in the words of my man Cam "Its going to be a hot summer", ya dig.

Choze
Keep shining.
"Paintsoul is the future, Chosan is the revolution".
