The Boston Music Awards requested a BENTMEN video collage to be featured at their ceremony this year. We are deeply honored!

Last night, we sat down with a bottle of grog and over 400 Gigabytes of archival footage stretching back over 20 years and started slicin' and dicin'.

The resultant video is now posted here on our MySpace page.

Des had his operation on Monday and it was a complete success. His doctor characterized him as "one lucky bastard." He'll be recovering for a month or so, but all looks well at this point. Thanks to one and all for their love and support.

The BENTMEN

For those of you that don't already know, Des has been diagnosed with a brain stem aneurysm which will require surgery on Monday to clamp it off. He's fine at the moment, but this is something he has to have fixed now to avoid any future danger. Sadly, its in his head and that means its a big scary operation.

He's going into Brigham & Women's for a craniotomy and will most likely be there for the rest of the week, and home recovering for at least a month.

Seeing as he'll most likely be quiet uncomfortable for the first couple weeks, please contact us first to see how he's feeling before dropping in to see him.

If you are a person of faith, please add him to your prayers. If not, please send him good vibes.

Be one of the first 20 people to sign up to bring a MiniDV camcorder and film the show for the band and your admisison is free!

Here's how it works:

- Send an e-mail here or to bentmen@bentmen.com
- Tell us what kind of camcorder and any special equipment you have (wide-angle lenses, tripods, etc.)
- Sign the e-mail release form we'll send to you, granting us permission to use your footage (we'll give you credit)
- Bring your camcorder to the show
- Pick up your VIP pass at the door
- Record the show (be creative!)
- Give us the tape after the show

and you'll get in FREE!

If you're not one of the first 20 but you still want to record the show, we'll give you a photo pass but you'll still have to buy your ticket (do it soon -- the show will definitely sell out)!

Note that we can only use MiniDV format tapes. VHS-C, Mini-DVD and other formats are not acceptable.

FAIR WARNING: We cannot be responsible for any damage that happens to your equipment as a result of your participation. We advise you to prepare your gear as if you were recording outdoors in the rain.
