German Castro vs Makeup and Vanity Set
Bald Eagle Freedom
SoundMachine Records

Tracklist:
1. Beast Rider - GC
2. Kill the Last Whale - GC
3. On Mighty Steeds Rode the Bringers of Death - MAVS
4. Eagle Force II - MAVS

"On Mighty Steeds..." is a remix of our song "Beast Rider." We should have these done by Tuesday. They are 3 inch CDs, and they'll be 5 bucks. You can order them through this MySpace page along with everything else we've done.

Other news:
You may or may not have heard that Paul fell 15 feet onto his back a few weeks ago. We had to cancel some shows, and he had to lay down a bunch. He's doing a lot better now, and we're hitting the road in a couple of weeks. After we get back, Paul's moving to Olympia, WA. We're still going to do the band, but you'll probably see a lot less of us. Expect more recordings than shows in the future. Hopefully we'll play one more local show before Paul takes off.

There's a review of the new CD over at NashvilleEdge.com.

I just uploaded a revamped version of a song that was previously called "Untitled." Now it's called "Golden Ruler," and it's is going to be on an EP called Prism, Vol. 1. We plan to have it at our show with Smokedog at Springwater on Nov. 24th. The 3 Inch split with Makeup and Vanity Set still isn't finished, but hopefully that'll be out by the end of the year. We recorded a bunch of new stuff with Lance MacDonald at the Toy Box here in Nashville, which will eventually result in a 7 inch some time next year. We'll also have a couple of songs on a forthcoming compilation on our new cassette tape label Nailbat Tapes. We're pretty busy and, you know, very very important.

First, we're playing a house show on August 22nd at 1603 Porter Rd here in Nashville with JEFF, Meemaw , and New Jersey's finest The Screaming Females.

Second, we're recording with the fantastically sexy Lance McDonald next month for material that will be on our forthcoming 3 inch CD split with Makeup and Vanity Set tentatively titled Bald Eagle Freedom.

Thirdly and lastly, our self-titled CD is about to go out of print. There are a few copies left, so if you want one you'd better grab it. No more of those suckers are getting made. More info over here.

Peace.

We're coming out of hibernation.  Lots of stuff going on.  First, we have a couple of Nashville shows booked, but both are sorta in a state of flux. The Ruby Green show is being moved, probably to someone's basement. The Funhouse recently had a run in with the law, so that show is in state of limbo at the moment. In the meantime, we're about to record some new stuff. We've demoed material for the Thorpe collaboration, and there are talks of a split/remix project with Makeup and Vanity Set. We also have an EP that's very near finished and will hopefully be available before our little Midwest jaunt next month.

In the meantime, we're featured in an article about two-pieces in the latest issue of everyone's favorite City at Night Magazine. You can view a PDF version of the magazine over here (p. 41). Highlight of article: the writer not knowing Paul's last name and calling him Paul Something.

Last night we played with a killer band called The Abalones from Memphis.  It was their first show of a two week tour. They had a replacement drummer because their regular drummer broke his hand, and they needed a replacement for the rest of the tour.  Paul is going to be their replacement.  They offered to let us jump on the tour, but I have a lame day job, and, by extension, I am lame.  So Paul's on tour while I'm stuck in Nashville.  I'm going to catch up with them in Memphis on Feb 2nd, and we're going to play at some place called Murphy's.

Here's the plan for the new year:

First, we're about to start on a collaboration with Thorpe, the result of which will be seperately released CDs from each band that can be played simultaneously.  In the meantime, we also have plans for a 7 inch in the near future and a full length album later in the year tentatively titled We Put the Fun in Funeral.  We're going to need money for all this, so buy some stuff.
