Things are rocking at the bunker. Aaron finished producing an ep with Mixtape, and is in the middle of producing the new Kaiku record, while John has just finished up 4 songs with Matt Lowell for an upcoming full length he is producing, and is about to hit the studio again with The Royal Chains.

Lots of good stuff going on!

We have just finished installing our brand new HD rig, based around 2 Lynx Aurora 16 converters, giving us 32 channels of i/o!

where to start... we haven't posted since we put the new console in, remodeled the control room, got a hammond organ and leslie speaker, installed a RADAR rig, recorded tracks for the new Rosewood Theives record, recorded a few musically and sonically ambitious jazz records, mixed Doug Gillard's (Guided by Voices) new record, and somehow found time to have a russian themed feast on new years eve! yay, peirogies and vodka! we are getting ready to start work on the new Phonograph LP at the end of the month.

yesterday the Auditronics 'Son of 36 Grand' #007 was bolted to the floor of the bunker control room.... quite an amazing thing! this console has seen years of amazing mixing by Joel Hamilton at Studio G, and we are extremely excited to add The Bunker to a pedigree that includes Stax Records, Donnie and Marie Osmond, Boston (yes, Boston), and Studio G....

Aaron is in the middle of mixing Rebecca Collins new record... Rebecca is an awesome singer and guitarrist from ireland... a really nice surreal rock/jazz album. I recently mixed a handful of tracks for Chris Karloff (formerly of Kasabian)... and now we are gearing up to redesign our control room for the installation of our new console! We are getting Joel Hamilton's infamous customized Auditronics from Studio G down the street in brooklyn.... along with that and the IZ Radar hard disk recorder on the way from Sonic Circus, we are about to make a huge leap in our gear.... a kick-ass one of a kind console and the best digital multi-track available (U2, Death Cab, Daniel Lanois and many others won't use anything else)... it is a huge move up for us and we couldn't be more excited. We'll be having a party for sure once the control room upgrades are finished... we are also going to be taking care of a friend of our's Hammond C3 and Leslie, so we will be able to offer every classic keyboard sound.

Has been a fun few days at The Bunker....Thursday was marathon madness with Jupiter One coming in to track and mix two new tunes, then Danny Katz's shamisen orchestra took us into the small hours. Friday was all analog with The Boy Bathing currently in the middle of a record. The weekend has been devoted to the Jay Collins Band...tracking live to 2 inch it's sounding awesome...great band, funky tunes...

we are now basically done with all major work on the studio! we're in the middle of our first session, and everything is working great, and the new rooms sound AMAZING... and we're not even done with the acoustic treatment. now just to replace that blown woofer, fix some patch points, install some light fixtures, finish the lounge, bla bla bla... ARGH. I guess there is still a ton lft to do, but everything is operational!

we hate everything.... particularly the jamaican construction crew that has yet to finish the wall they destroyed while working on the adjacent space in the building. it's nice waiting for people who don't give a fuck.
