OPENING FOR FUTURE OF THE LEFT (EX-MCLUSKY) + THE BEATINGS ON 11.1 @ TTS
do you know how awesome this is?  how incredibly fortuitous?  how magnificently stupendous?  how fantastically fucking sweet this will be?  DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA?  well, let me tell you.

FUTURE of THE LEFT is basically my favorite band right now. Former members of McLusky + Jarcrew, they are all of the following things: brutally loud, fast, catchy, funny, charming, very welsh and basically just some all around talented human role models. this'll be their third time in boston (previous shows were with Ted Leo, Against Me!, and The Datsuns). And now, they are at the top of the bill, deservedly so, with us opening up. this excites me to no end!  NO FUCKING END I TELL YOU, NONE!

THE BEATINGS are one of boston's best bands, period. Just released a new album. All i can say is listen to their stuff and prepare to have yourself pleased with the utmost thoroughness by these fine musicians.

THE NEW DUMB are your faithful narrators, your never-failing heroes, your tender lovers, your truest of friends. this will be our best show of all time, you should definitely go to it. We're on 1st at 9pm SHARP.

While I have your attention, I'd like to point out that our radical bass player, Jay, has created a sweet 19 minute ROCKUMENTARY about the making of our album. WATCH THE VIDEO HERE, LIKE RIGHT NOW!

Finally, for our Boston fans - we'll have a record release show soon after we get back. Save the date: Thursday August 27th at Great Scott in Allston. Stay tuned for the full details, other bands, etc.
Hopefully we'll see you on the road, but no matter what, we'll be taping this nonsense, so don't worry your precious hearts. happy trails!
Good grief, I almost forgot: new songs, are up too! www.myspace.com/thenewdumb

hey there, it's been a busy few weeks in the land of the new dumb.  here's what's cooking:

1. we've just completed our new record.  it's called IF YOU'RE HEARING THIS, WE DIDN'T MAKE IT. I won't bore you with the tracklisting just now, but yes your favourites are on there, including APPLEJACK ANTHEM and a wondrous new song about how we got attacked by man-eating eagles.

2.  we're nearly done with booking our little tour.  right now, it'll be five shows, but there's a chance we could have a few more.  we'll let you know!  the new record will be released first to you folks in the touring cities.

3.  we'll have some new merch, including cute new t-shirts that you can wear on your torso.

4. we're still doing the DIY packaging thing, so hope that you enjoy that as well.  we'll post some photos from the process shortly.

5.  our talented bassist is composing a short documentary about the process of making our new album.  you will most likely enjoy it.

6.  we still like you.

sorry that it took like a year and a half, but we just finished mastering a new record that shall be called "Let's Get Lucky." yeah, we were going to call it "The Joshua Tree 2," but that will probably wait till the next record.

anyhow, there are two songs up here.

the first is called The Viper The Bison The Weasel The Whale-Man.

myspace only allows song titles of a certain length, so i've left out the four "The's." Rest assured, they are actually still there. this song is goofy and fast and ridiculous. for people who like Ween, The Hives, and generally for people who take themselves very seriously. the whale sounds you hear are actually done by me (the riz) and an actual humpback whale. see if you can tell who is who, i think you will be pleasantly surprised!

the second is called Cut It In Half and Double It.

this is song is a more serious one, just so you know we weren't completely wasting your time and our money in the studio. for fans of Fugazi, Les Savy Fav, i don't really know who else to mention since we are clearly so much better than those bands.

anyhow, if you like it, leave us a comment or a porno spam, you know, whatever. new album should be released in the next couple months.

come see us unless these songs LIVE this THURSDAY JANUARY 10th at the Abbey Lounge in Somerville MA. details in our profile.

stay classy.

hey, check it... we're going on tour in august and we're looking to make thousands of new friends. if you are in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Washington, Philly, Baltimore, NYC, Upstate NY and/or Western Mass, and you know of someplace cool to:

+ sleep
+ eat
+ go bowling
+ play mini-golf
+ take some batting practice
+ buy sweet records
+ take pictures of birds
+ eat
+ or generally be awesome

let us know! send us a message or email info@thenewdumb.net!

also, you can now buy mp3s here, a buck a piece. you can also download some of them for free. now why would be stupid enough to ask you to pay for what you can just get for free? and the truth is, i don't have a good answer for you! if you feel like helping us out, go ahead and pick up the album! or you can always buy it and get awesome packaging from us through the pay pal thingie.

anyhow, we look forward to this summer with the eagerness of three young schoolboys. we're god damn giddy!
