I just got back from the International Folk Alliance Conference, and
wow.
Before I get into that, I need to remind you that I am opening for
Cletus and Lori this Friday. I would LOVE to see you there so I can
tell you all about Memphis in person! The show details are included at
the bottom of this diatribe, and of course I'll be on the air tomorrow
talking about the upcoming show and Memphis (aah, Memphis) tomorrow.
Now, back to my story :-)
11 showcases and 4 late nights of jamming later....
Here are a few highlights:
David Glaser popped into one of my showcases and played some blues
with me. BIG fun.
The coolest people come from Texas, or they move there - who knew?
And Boston rocks, too.
I got to sing with some of my favorite voices;
ie Helena Nash, Joe Jencks (who will be here this spring, so look for
him
http://www.joejencks.com ), Dan Navarro, Eric Schwartz, and the
list goes on endlessly.
6:30 Sunday morning - I sang Leonard Cohen's "Halelujah" with a choir
that included the aforementioned folks, PLUS Julie Christensen, who
spent years singing it with LEONARD!!! That was a moment I won't soon
forget.
I could go on, but you have a life to get back to, and I have a ton
of follow-up to get moving on.
Thanks for reading all of my ramblings - I hope to see you soon!
Cheers,
KO
