| ::QN5 Music - Baby Blue For Pink [EP] |
QN5 Music - Baby Blue For Pink [EP] - Available 02.12.08
If you're a Hip Hop head who doesn't want to hear Michael Bolton bleeding out of his eyes while you're getting your groove on - QN5 Music has the perfect prescription for you.
Baby Blue For Pink is QN5's first 'digital only' release, created especially for lovers on Valentine's Day. Five completely original songs (and 1 remix) were created from scratch for the special occasion where love, relationships and sex are on everyone's mind.
Featuring PackFM, Tonedeff, Mr. SOS, Session, Substantial, CunninLynguists & SunnyStylez over production by the critically-acclaimed QN5 production team, this is a rare treat where Hip Hop gets unapologetically grown and sexy.
In typical QN5-form, the EP effortlessly straddles the line between cleverly romantic and lasciviously lewd. In a nutshell, this is music that will turn your girl on. "It's something the ladies will love and the dudes will respect," says Deacon The Villain, who produced two of the EP's cuts.
"This EP came together really well with a nice sexy vibe the whole way through and people get a break from the typical approach to love songs," explains PackFM. "It's something you can get into on Valentine's Day, or on August 28th - it works anytime."
Baby Blue For Pink will be released on Feb 12, 2008 via ALL PAY-DOWNLOAD DIGITAL SERVICES (ie. iTunes, Rhapsody, Amazon, etc). Spread the word by using the exclusive Baby Blue For Pink buddy icon below.

Shouts to DJ L, www.myspace.com/djlmasterkey for rocking my "Im Worth Million$" shirt on BET Rap City's The Basement.
The shirts have been a big success for me and I appreciate every person that copped one and showed some love. I need to find a video clip or picture of the show so I can throw it up.

Current mood: hungry
Whats good my peoples? I know I hardly get a chance to be writing blogs and shit so here goes nothing. I feel a little like the ODB of QN5, I go crazy, I disappear, I do my own thing – I don't exactly represent QN5 like they would like to be represented, but at the end of the day I love and support them as much as they do for me. Fuck you if you hate that. For the past two months I been hitting the streets hard hustling my CD's out the car (if you aint got my "New Money" mixtape get that shit NOW!) Now, for you old school QN5 and Session fans, your prolly wondering "why the hell is he still promoting that old ass mixtape?!" See, I never really gave my CD a chance when I first got it, I was going on tour and wanted something to sell on that tour. I sold a couple hundred and was happy with the money in my pocket. But, when I came back I didn't do shit with the rest of the mixtapes, but give them out. I've just recently learned the skill of selling my mixtapes and started hustling my mixtapes out the whip in various hoods all across Philadelphia, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Shit! These last two weeks I sold around 1,400-1,500 mixtapes alone.
You can continue reading the rest of my blog, complete with video clips, on the QN5 website, click herePeace Session

It was just a matter of time before Session dove off the deep end of utter desperation to come up with the most ignorant, radio-friendly song on the planet. Funny enough, he's come back up to the surface with the most ridiculously catchy little ditty you'll hear this summer. Yes… it's repetitive… it's slow & low… it's got drawn-out ass 808's…it's bone-headedly simple…and you won't be able to get this shit out of your head for the next 3 months. This is what summer's all about. Session - "Chea!" [Produced By: Tonedeff] Download: [Street Version] | [Radio Edit] Bump the fuck outta this in your whip. http://www.latinrapper.com/session_interview.html Session Holds it Down for the Bronx
8/1/06 - LatinRapper.com exclusive interview
You Betta Ask Somebody! As goes the chorus on the DJ Green Lantern produced Betta Ask Somebody, LatinRapper.coms Amen sat down and didnt ask just somebody, but he asked Session himself about whats going on with him, his music, and his future. For those of you who havent asked anybody yet, Session is the same man that stormed into the scene in 2002 with Tonedeff, PackFM, and Substantial for Extended Famms critically acclaimed Happy F**k You Songs. Realizing that success isnt just about having the best bars, Mr. Jose Ch*nga is prepared to make himself, and the lucky people that co-sign him worth millions!
The rugged MC details his aspirations to be the next Hip-Hop superstar, and how he plans to position himself for dominance.
LatinRapper.com: For the people that dont know, let em know who you are and where youre from.
The name is Session, a.k.a. Spicasso, a.k.a. Da Poh Rican, a.k.a. El Beyaco Malo, a.k.a. Jose Ch*nga, a.k.a. King Ding a Ling, a.k.a. Spanish Fly, aka I cant think of no more. And Im from the muthaf**kin Bronx, NY, but I also rep the Heartbeat, Hartford, CT the sevent most dangerous city in America for those that think we sit around watchin grass grow. BANG BANG!
Let me warn you Ive got some tough questions lined up for you, like whats your favorite color, what size shoes you rock, and how much you spend on groceries a week. I aint holdin s**t back!
Hahaha! Thats whats up, fam. I wont hold back neither, son! My favorite color is blue. I rock a size 9.5, maybe 10 if I wanna impress the ladies, and I dont buy groceries I buy beer.
So the New Money mixtape was a great start to getting the fans a bit more familiar with the name. What do you have planned for the near future?
Yeah, the New Money mixtape was just me throwin a bunch of s**t together and calling it a mixtape so I can make some money. My next mixtape, Im Worth Millions is really a more concentrated effort to put together a really well-put together product. Not to say New Money is wack, but its more a collection of songs.
No doubt. Its definitely a good introductory CD for the heads that dont really know whats up. So you got this I'm Worth Millions slogan going explain to people what thats all about before random heads come out the woodwork askin to borrow some money.
It basically means what it says Im Worth Millions. Im a Spanish rapper, that reps bein a Spanish dude. Im a chancleta wearing, Corona guzzlin, Oye Mami! chasin, packing 8 people in a small Toyota ass ni**a. Aint nobody reppin that s**t in this game right now. Latinos are the second strongest buying power in the nation. Reggaeton s**t is popping off, but thats mainly for Spanish ni**as. I can reach both ni**as that love Reggaeton, and ni**as that just love Hip-Hop. Youll hear it in my music, whether it be a quick Spanish reference, me talking about rice and beans, or a straight Spanglish verse Ima represent me being a Nuyorican. Thats me all day. I just know theres mad people that relate to me. People that read this and be like, Thats me right there." And even if you aint Spanish, if you in the hood, you got a Spanish friend thats just like I described it, so the s**t aint alien to you. You know the deal. IM WORTH MILLIONS, BABY! Cause I feel my ni**as will support me. Oh yeah, plus, Im nice.
Speakin of Reggaeton, I remember a little less than two years back you did your own Reggaeton track on the "Oye Mi Canto" instrumental called "Toma!" Do you have any intentions to do some more Reggaeton tracks? And are you afraid we're going to see the Reggaeton movement come and go just as quickly in popular music as the 90's Latin explosion with Ricky Martin, J. Lo, Enrique Iglesias, etc?
Yes, I will do a Reggaeton track here and there. It aint gonna be all I do just a part of the repertoire. I dont really care where the movement goes; Ima do what I want, and what my peoples wanna hear. Reggaeton aint going nowhere. Sure, it might disappear from the mainstream, but the s**t was around before that anyway, so who gives a f**k? But Ima do Reggaeton my way, in Spanglish. Theres a difference between a Puerto Rican from PR and a Puerto Rican from NY. Im representing the Puerto Rican from NY. Jeuuh! Shouts to my family in PR! Arecibo, PR all day, holla!
Hahaha! Peace to Vega Baja and Mayaguez while were at it. You mentioned being a Nuyorican, so lets talk a little bit about the Diamond Girl track you leaked onto the net about a month ago and what the response to that has been like.
Its been mixed as I expected it to be. A lot of people dont get it, or dont know about the old 80's track I took the beat and the hook from or nothing. But my Latinos know what the f**k is up. Some of these Italians are hollering too. It was just a track that really just represented what my little sister used to bump back in the day and my moms, too. I could give a f**k about those that dont like it. I expected it. Some people go as far as to say "That aint Hip-Hop." What you think them Rocksteady ni**as used to break dance to, GENIUS? But yeah, Ive gotten some pretty great offers from the opposite sex cause of this s**t, though, hahaha. Im just representing who I am at the end of the day. Take it or leave it.
Yeah, you have to take the people who don't understand that Freestyle was once considered "Latin Hip-Hop" with a grain of salt. Are there plans to breathe some fresh life into more of these classic Freestyle records? I know you said Stevie B had shown you some love on the track, any more talkin' goin' on with him?
Hahaha, I dont know man. Maybe "Let the Music Play." That s**t was tight, man.
Stevie B hit me up on MySpace! But nah, no talking. He hit me up, told me the track was hot, and then tried to sell me something on some Erik Estrada s**t. Hahaha, its funny, but you peep how ni**as use Spanish dudes to get at our market right? Im Worth Millions, baby! Im that new s**t!
Speakin of Freestyle, what are the off-the-dome skills like?
ni**a, Im wack. You come at me tryin to battle me, Ima tell you that you won. I aint that ni**a thats gonna hit you with a million written verses making pretend. I keep it real. I walk around with my shirt off and my belly poppin out with my chest hairs all running around crazy - STILL thinking Im fly. I gives a f**k what you think is my point.
Hahaha, I got you. So you got this situation with QN5, the 2002 Extended F@mm album, but at the same time it's pretty obvious that you want that major deal that'll push you up above the independent market and give you an opportunity to showcase yourself. Is there anything specific that really turned you off to the indie scene and made you feel like it wasn't for you?
Man, I wanna be famous. Im a superstar, b*tch! Nah, but for real - I just wanna live off this music s**t, man. I dont wanna be a slave to having to drop an album every year or two just to live. I wanna make sure my kids is set. Besides, I'm Worth Millions, ni**a! HOLLA!
So what do you think is the most difficult part of being a Latino MC trying to break into the majors and superstardom, if anything at all?
Nothing. At least not to me. The s**t is the easiest time ever to break into this game if you have the work ethic to break through all the bulls**t that ALL ni**as go through anyway. Im talented, my work ethic is crazy, I have good people around me, the timing is right, Im a smart muthaf**ka, and I dont give a f**k about no one. I dont take No for an answer. Ima be alright. Im Worth Millions and I cant wait to be rich. It aint a, "I hope to be rich," - I cant f**kin wait till Im swimming in cash like Scrooge McDuck.
The QN5 Spring Cleaning Tour was a real good look, what was that experience like?
I loved it, man. Thats what I wanna do. I wanna tour, I wanna visit places I would never think Id be, and rock in front of a crowd. Livin the life of a 9-5, or even as a hustler, youre trapped. You cant go nowhere. You gotta stay there making that money. I wasnt meant to be tied and bound up in one place doing one thing. I need room to breathe. The world is my playground and I wanna play everywhere. But yeah, I was with my peoples, having a great time cramped in a lil ass van. Im a trooper, fam. I dont give a f**k. I slept on the hotel room floor for almost all the stops cause there wasnt enough beds. I f**kin work. I dont give a f**k what I have to do. Thats another reason I'm Worth Millions. I will not stop.
On a more serious note, everyone should know by now that you rep your Puerto Rican heritage with pride. Being Puerto Rican and living in New York with such a large population of Boricuas outside of the island, is your intention to be an idol musically, or do you aspire to evolve into a powerful Puerto Rican that people can admire fully?
Man, I just do me. Maybe as I get older and I start sticking my head into things other than music then my thinking will evolve. But Im really just being me for right now. Im not tryin to do anything but sell a couple records and make some money. Im broke. Que sera, sera - what will be, will be.
Boom! It's been great talkin' with you. Now hit em with the shout outs, subliminal disses to other rappers you don't like, release dates, websites, and purchasing info!
I dont like you, you, youre cool, f**k him, and that other dude is just wack but he's cool. Shout outs to my Pharcity ni**as! Congrats on getting Funkmaster Flex to drop bombs all over that record! Shouts to QN5, Tonedeff, PackFM, Mecca, CunninLynguists, Elite, and Domingo. Shouts to The Leegans, too, Debut, Toe Tag, and L.A.S. - them my ni**as. Ima make some money off them if I pop first, holla! Shouts to Sara Kana and of course, Mala Reignz! Im Worth Millions mixtape is coming real soon. Check out www.myspace.com/spicasso for more info and new songs and s**t. HOLLA!

Current mood: content
http://www.hiphopgame.com/index2.php3?page=session What's up? I'm chilling. How's your New Money mixtape doing for you so far? So far, so good. I put it out in a mad rush. I put a lot of older joints on there. A lot of older fans can see that. That's because the QN5 Spring Cleaning tour was sprung on me at the last minute. That's why you don't even see Session on some of the fliers. I threw this together, had Envy host it, and I threw a bunch of joints together. That was that. It's doing great so far. Cats are liking it. It's a great introduction to Session because people who haven't heard me or heard of me, even the older joints are new. To me, it's cool, but I'm setting up for my next mixtape, An A&R's Dream, which is going to be all new shit. The thing that stands out about you is the punchlines. How do you come up with those? I get hiiiigh. I get high and I feel like writing. Sometimes I'll be walking on the block and a line will enter my head for no apparent reason. I'll write it on my Sidekick and I'll get home and when I write a verse, I'll have that line to throw in there somewhere. I also have songs like "Route of Evil" I throw out there to let people know I'm not all about punchlines and that I have substance as well. New York rappers are known for corny punchlines. What's the difference between a good punchline and a bad one? All the "My car is the same color of" and "My watch is the color of" That's all corny to me. A million people have already done that. That's elementary. I don't set my shit up like that. There's some that don't even use punchlines and that's cool. Why are there so many cookie-cutter rappers? I don't know and I don't care. There are a lot of people who complain about the state of hip-hop, but good music will prevail at the end of the day. I don't give a fuck about nobody who's not helping me out. If everybody was nice, then I would have a harder time. Thank you, wack rappers. What's the next move for you now that the Envy tape is popping? This is just me dipping my feet in the water and it's for a bunch of industry people who didn't know who I was. Now people know who I am and now I can set up my next project. Now people know who I am and cop my shit. The next project I'm doing is An A&R's Dream. It's all my newest shit. The Green Lantern track "Betta Ask Somebody" is one of my newest joints. My new songs show I know how to put songs together instead of straight spitting all the time. I'm dropping that and I'm going to Europe in August as a continuation of the QN5 tour. All that shit is just to set up my album. All of this just to set up my album. I still don't know if I'm going to go the independent route or the major route. I'll know when I get all this other shit out of the way and the effect on what's happened. Based on what's happened, I'll know what I'm going to do next. "Betta Ask Somebody" seems to be doing well for you. The response is crazy. So far, so good. A lot of people are liking that track a lot. I'm getting a lot of hits for that, especially now that Green Lantern is really doing his thing and dropping a lot of tapes left and right. The reaction is good so far, but I haven't really pushed it like that. I want to get it radio edited and send it out more. How's the QN5 Spring Cleaning tour going for you so far? So far, it's been great. I'm different from everyone on QN5. I'm not like Tone, Pack FM, or Cunninlynguists, musically. Some of the crowd likes their music better and they don't really rock with me while some of the crowds go crazy for my music. Alaska was crazy! My show is a lot more aggressive. I make drunk people music. What's the atmosphere like on tour? I'm going to blow some spots up right now. Natti from Cunninlynguists farts a lot. I have to smell his farts all day. Tone and Pack and Kno don't want us to smoke in the van so we have to go outside and smoke in the middle of nowhere. We chilled and we bonded and we talked hip-hop. Pack FM lives on his Sidekick. Life in the van was cool. It's crazy when you have to take twelve hour trips. We even bumped into Murs at the Salt Lake City spot. The world can be so small sometimes. Why don't you just get Tonedeff one of those pine trees to hang off the rear-view mirror? We should put it right off his nose. Who does he think he is? Sarah from Da Band? I'm saying! That's mad diva, yo! It's fun to get on him for that shit. It was also because they didn't want to get pulled over and all that. I want to smoke and be high. What's your relationship with QN5 right now? My relationship with QN5 is mad tight. As of now, my Spicasso album will be dropping on QN5 Music. I've spoken to them and they know I aspire to do bigger things. I aspire to be on a major label and blow the fuck up. There's different ways to do that and everybody does that a different way, whether I build a buzz before my first album or after. No matter what, all my peoples are being brought with me. There's different ways. I'm just trying to build up a buzz and most of that crowd is going to come from the Spanish crowd. I'm trying to talk to them and that's going to make me a million dollars. I'm worth a million dollars. Do you think a label's going to believe that? I think a label is going to believe that because you have to look at it this way: industry dudes would be stupid to not see the potential of me being able to make money with the way I rap. Take a Puerto Rican from Puerto Rico and a Puerto Rican from New York. That's two separate types of people even if they have the same background. My music represents a New Yorican. That's why Pun went multi-platinum. He represented and showed pride for his culture. That's why people loved him. If that was the case now, Fat Joe would be platinum all day. There hasn't been a Spanish rapper to represent their culture like Pun did. Tru Life and Joell Ortiz are going hard, but they're not Spanish dudes. I have my own lane not just by throwing a little Spanglish in there every now and then but by saying shit that's unique to us as a culture. Jay-Z said, "Spanish Jose, show me how to get the money niggas owe me." He makes us sound cool. Where's Spanish Jose? That's me! I have my own angle and I just hope people will follow me on my journey. My people make me worth a million dollars, so when you hear me say that shit, it's not me being cocky or arrogant, it's me being confident that my people will stand behind me and support me without alienating anyone else. I'm not rapping in Spanish over here. Everybody can have their angle and do their thing. In no way am I trying to take away from what Joell Ortiz, Tru Life, or anyone else is doing. Joell Ortiz raps straight-up hip-hop. I really can't call it. I just know that the way I'm going to do it is different from any way that's ever been done before. There's hood niggas who aren't Spanish and that's what's not being represented in music right now. That's my lane all day. How's the album coming out so far? The album is coming out fucking great. It's coming out real fucking good. I was actually at a show last night with Joell Ortiz and I performed the intro to the album. Cats went nuts for it. There's going to be a lot of deep tracks and conceptual shit on the album. There's going to be a lot of bangers on there of course, but it's going to be Spicasso. It's going to be a masterpiece. When are you looking to drop it? I'm looking to drop it when the time is right. I'm not trying to sell it to five people in my hood. We did an interview before and it never got published, but I'm not sweating it because the timing wasn't right. Why would I sweat it? So people could have forgotten about me the next day? I wasn't prepared to follow that up with music. I have no date right now, but as soon as you hear my name buzzing and things start working and my joints are on the radio, then you're going to know the album is coming real soon. Are you guys working on another Extended Famm album? I'm not really fucking with that too tough. There's fans who love that shit. A lot of the shit we did on that was not what I like or what I want to do. At the end of the day, I got outvoted on a lot of shit. What do you want to say to everyone? To the labels, I'm worth a million dollars. Get in while I'm cheap. Make your money grow. To my fans, I love y'all motherfuckers. Coming from an independent route, I need every one of y'all motherfuckers. I try to cultivate a fan-base because that's going to create selling power for me and I can use that at the labels. To my potential fans, I am not a dime-a-dozen rapper. I don't use the same flow and corny punchlines everyone else does. And another thing, to other artists, I'm a fan. I'm from New York where we have the crabs-in-a-barrel mentality, but I can rock to anybody's shit. If you give anybody props, they think you're wack. For example, I like Juelz Santana. I think that motherfucker is nice. Somebody will say, "You think you're wack? He's better than you?" I can still like someone else's music. I am not a hater. Make friends with Session at http://myspace.com/spicasso and be sure to visit http://qn5.com as well. Audio should be on their site.. Peace Session

hmmm I like to read books. Not really any non-fiction books (altho "The Da Vinci Code" was fuckin great! heard the movie sucked tho) I like to read books that I can learn from. I love "The Tipping Point" (for marketing), "The 48 Laws Of Power", "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" (financial book, to learn to use money wisely), "The Art Of Seduction" (NO it aint about baggin bitches.. its about how to talk to people to get what you want), "Guerilla Marketing", "Trendspotting", shit like that.. i cant think of any more.. but basically books that teach you shit.. I like Marketing, Money, Business, shit like that... hmm.. my government is Jose.. i guess that wasnt too hard to find out... hmm.. i dont really like going to clubs.. im a quiet dude.. i'd rather chill... smoke.. relax.. i love traveling.. but not to other cities just to go to THEIR clubs and shit. I'd rather go to Europe and check out the ancient monuments and shit. When i went on tour.. i took more pictures of the scenery than I did of me and my peoples.. lol.. on some national geographic shit... hmmm.. people that know me or met me.. I may come across as ignorant or stupid and ghetto.. but actually Im very fuckin smart.. my IQ is 132 so thats pretty good. My environment and my history make me how I am.. but Im an intelligent person too.. book and street smart... Im half Puerto Rican and half Indian. I get alot of questions about that because i dont look pure puerto rican. The reason I dont rep my other half (the indian part) is because I was never raised around that side of me. My dad bounced before i was born. I dont even know how he looks like. I wasnt raised eating curry or whatever else Indians eat. No disrespect to Indians, but I look at them like ... ya know.. outsiders.. not like.. "hey.. thats a part of ME". feel me? I was raised on arroz con gandules.. and all that. I was born and raised in the Bronx but left for Connecticut when i was young. Then moved back out here after high school. So thats why i rep the Bronx (for all my niggas out in CT) and thats why I rep CT (for everyone else that be wonderin whats my connection to Hartford, CT. (The Heartbeat baby) fuck what you heard tho.. Hartford is fuckin rough.. aint no watching grass grow out there.. number 7 of the top 10 most dangerous cities in the U.S. per population. watch out now.. I'll prolly move back around there once Im rich and shit.. I dont know.. at least own a home out there.. in the suburbs.. I love my family and friends very much.. even if I dont call or I aint around so much. Im busy tryin to make shit happen, so I can come back and make sure everyone good and we can all be and chill together like back in the days.. i cant really stay in contact with as many of my old friends as I'd like to.. its too many people to keep track of.. on top of tryin to keep track of what i have to do.. WHICH IS A FUCKIN ALOT! I do alot of this by myself.. i have no team to help promote me...no manager.. . no rich person to help me.. no famous people co-sign.. i rely on talent.. and the help of those fortunate few that KNOW Im worth a million fuckin dollars... anyways... Im bored.. Im done.... holla at me.. Peace Jose aka.. Session
