Nietzsche says "Faith means not wanting to know what is true". A few years after he died, Freud came along to say that we each have unconscious aggressive and sexual instincts which we learn to repress overtime through the enforcer of civilization. It is also by the mechanism of civilizaton that we learn to tell ourselves repeated lies about the world and ourselves. In the age of modernity and critical thinking, one has to not only question what he believes but why he believes it in the first place out of the danger of latching on to another belief system that is equally self-defeating or false. Only then can we get to the truth of both the self and what we believe. The unconscious instincts may lead us to addiction, love, self destruction, or a detachment from reality. Im fine with that...this is where the existentialist in everyone of us has to step in, stop us, and realize the power of choice in the creation of our own personal existence. We have to take the paint brush away from the unconscious drives and try to paint the picture ourselves, then maybe the outcome won’t look so sloppy, we’ll see...
just a day....a moment...a flash...in the life of a philosopher- cheers till next time!

word up, word up...I recently got back from my 2nd hip hop pilgrimage to the Mecca New York. I travelled there not only to revisit the beautiful city of hip hop but to check out a grad school I am interested in attending in pursuit of my Master's degree in philosophy and psyhoanalysis. This time I visited the 'South Bronx', also known as the birthplace of hip hop. It's characteristics paralled South Central, East L.A, and other ghettos I have visited throughout the country. Ghettoism is brought by the plague of poverty all throughout the country but in this special case produced the culture and philosophy of hip hop music that we cherish so much...I will be posting more pictures of NY over time, peace and love 2 all! 'Another one bites the dust' is sadly how I have come to know many of those who were once called 'friends'. As stated in the Nas quote from his song 'the message' ...(TIME) sets the stage for the change in circumstances and foundations for distancing. Whether it's death, jail, or betrayal...friends you talked to in one setting you no longer affiliate with become strange and vague. You yourself may change and wonder why you chose certain people at certain times to become your friends in the first place. The truth is that life can be confusing somtimes (especially if you have little family support) so we seek answers and consolement in the environment from those around us. Friendships, like life then...give you back what you put into them. They are a mutually communicative bond where both people are interested and invested in prolonging it's existence. Both parties need 2 take responsibility if it fails. My ever growing involvment in Education, Love, and Music has led to many estrangements from former counterparts in my case and many of those were people who I once called 'friend'. My 'time' has simply been invested elsewhere and lacks the investment in former so called friendships (if that's what they even were). Oddly enough, I am aware that I still do consciously try to maintain the friendships that still are meaningful and authentic to me although they are very few these dayz. Therefore, I reach out to you! My true fans and friends are those who take the time to listen and appreciate my musical and written works. You prolong my work, friendship, and overall philosophy when doing so and I appreciate all those who listen and support my music. I am here struggling in this existence with you and do not want to loose my connection to you so please continue to support my work. I've lost many friends for various reasons and don't want to loosse you as well, thanx for listenging, I'll post more thoughts on this topic in the future fah sho! Be on the lookout for the new album ?Question Eveything! dropping this summer 2006- PRoCLaiM
p.s. I have joined, formed, or been involved with numerous tagging crews, gangs, weed smoking crews, party crews, and even a college fraternity. = What have I learned from the mindless conformity I've undergone and re-invented myself from? - I've learend that although you join a group thinking that you'll gain numerous friends... In the end you'll be lucky enough to walk away with two, one, or none that you can trust and will be there for you over time... *Be weary of groups, masses, and organizations that want you to conform! The best friends I have now came to me as individuals representing 'self' and not 'group'!

I recently saw on BET the supposed 100 hottest videos 2005. I think i started watching around number 36 and then I saw most of them down to ..1. To be quite honest, they were mostly all wiggity whack! They all had some heavy sexual connotations and portrayed women with the utmost disrespect. Even Kanye's Goldigger (probably the most lyrical and close to real hip hop artist on the whole countdown) portrayed women as sexual objects and once again concentrated on an unadmirable characteristic (goldigging). All the other artists almost universally concentrated on sexual themes with almost no song development or interesting stories. One video was actually called "gimme that", and had one of the corniest of and jiggiest beats out the bunch. The song stayed true to its whack hook, telling women to just 'give' him 'that'. What happended to the smooth talkin LL cool J's, the pharcyde's harmony (passing me by), what happened to jus kickin some good game to a girl! No, now it's just "gimme that", how fucken lame can they get! The beats of almost all the artists on the countdown were pathetically repetively laced 808 drum patters with virtually no to little instrumentation in addition to the corny drums. So is hip hop dead? Is is just tits, ass, and rims now? I would have to say mainstream is dead but only to an extent. Artists like Nas, Common, and Kweli are still trying to get there voices heard in the mainstream although they are often silenced by the ass shaking, cristal spraying, gold teeth bearing morons who represent the rotting core of the commercial hiph hop industry. The fact of the matter is that there is a divide. Just like the divide between liberals and conservatives in the politics in this country, it seems to be the same with hip hop. Although on the surface, on mtv, vh1, everything is okay cuz everyone wants a piece of the pie, but we know there are those who really care about preserving all the elements of the hip hop culture, and those who are greedy and only care about selling records and portraying themselves as so called 'playas'. Although it often feels that hip hop is dead, since we don't see the artist we like on tv or hear them on radio, the fact of the matter is there is still the underground movement of people who care about preserving and expressing the culture of hip hop as it was created and founded by Kool herc, Afrika Bambataa, and Gradmaster flash as a conscious movement to help urban youth and spread love, peace, and happiness. So keep on doin it big, and dont pay attention to the majority of disatorously horrible artists they parade in front of us. Keep searching for truth and meaning in the artists who are really trying to make a difference in both the hip hop community and the nation we live in...peace to all hip hop is life...PRoCLaiM

The hardest part of breaking up with someone is not realizing that you are now alone once again, but truly realizing that by nature you always were. Adaptation can be a painful process, but by nature and evolution it inevidentably can be done. We can move
on. We do survive, for that is the nature of all living things, even those with emotions.
Remember, this was written not for me, but for you. I am already aware of these facts and thus am proclaiming them in the hopes of helping others, especially my fans and friends who feel they lost somthing they never really had to begin with...peace! PRoCLaiM
