Happy day,
The gig at Speedie's vintage shop was great yesterday, great crowd and really cool atmosphere. thanx to everybody who came and claped and danced and screamed...you foxes are the best. You shouldn't miss the next one!
To continue with our instore stories, we played an acoutic gig today at Lucky Seven, a record shop on Church Street, in Stoke Newington; that was lot of fun, and lot of mulled wine too! we are thinking of organising some afternoon gigs there.
Here is a video of "The Game".

happy day foxes,
So here we go, after myspace, facebook, twitter (useless)... We 've decided to create just a simple blog ( http://hownottocreateamusicsceneinlondon.blogspot.com/ ) about our life , here in London, and about the evolution of Rodeo Massacre since we left France one year and a half ago. Therefore, you'll see that being musician today, and try to make a living with it is so hard, but so great at the same time.

In 2005/2006, Rodeo Massacre was touring quite well in France, but nothing was really happening; the labels wanted us to sing in french which was not really our cup of tea, not only because Izzy is swedish but simply because we wanted to have more of an international carrier.

During these years, songs like "Brand New Day" or "The Ocean" were produced by 2 guys who finally wanted to screw us and sign Izzy as a solo artist, off course she said "nej" ; 10 songs were recorded in studio, but we couldn't use them because we didn't want to work anymore with those french producers: at that time Izzy and I felt that we should go away and start a new life!

We thought then to go to NY or London, we chose London, we knew that there was a big music scene, and we thought we could bring something new to the music there.
We arrived in London in feb 2007, Ulf, who was a friend of Izzy back in Sweden, joined us few weeks later with his organ, guitar, harmonica, 3 piece suits.....the all thing was very exciting, we were living together in a house in Stamford Hill, and started to write songs, we felt like born again!

We found a drummer and a bass player really fast, and started to gig around London, playing a mix between our old tunes and some new songs. few months later, we had a complete new set list, with only new songs, we felt ready to be the leaders of the 21st century psychedelia.

But first we had to fire the bass player and the drummer (!), as we wanted something more original, and unique. I turned into a Man Orchestra, playing drums and guitar at the same time and Ulf playing organ, bass, guitar and Harmonica, Izzy singing and tambourining, as a trio we feel that we can now start something new in London, bring some colors in what i like to call "the boring black and white dark Joy division look alike" music scene here.

So basicly to find ourselves, and be happy with our sound, took us one year, we are now giging as a trio which is great but the hard part is not that much about our sound or writing songs, the most difficult thing here for us is to create a new music scene , we thought it would be easy because we sound different from the others London's band as most of them are inspired by Joy Division, Depeche Mode or Sister of Mercy. BUT IT's NOT! and with that blog you will have all tour advices if you ask yourself HOW NOT CREATE A MUSIC SCENE IN LONDON?

Hello,

don't know if I've told you that we are playing in Paris this weekend.
After an amazing gig in Grenoble together with Firecrackers a week ago I can't wait to be back in France.

This time we are playing the same night as our very talented London friend Nat Jenkins and his band and I wanted to write this short blog to introduce him to you.

Here follows one of his tracks and music video:

I REALLY like this track, it was my nr 1 tune of the summer .
Since the song hasn't been released yet I keep going on his myspace to listen to it and it's getting a bit complicated since I don't have internet at home. I was really hoping to hook up our record label with Nat so that I can get to hear the song "Message" on vinyl.

Talking about talented friends we have done this really cool collaboration together with a Swedish painter/artist called Michelle Urvall Nyrén for the cover of our next release of the song The Game.  6 months ago I saw this mystic drawing of one of my best friends Julien and I really felt it had something special. Asking him about it he later introduced me to Michelle threw email and we started discussing what she could paint for us.
Only 2 weeks ago did I meet Michelle in real person and I must point out that I couldn't believe how stunning and beautiful this girl is. There I was admiring her paintings and then I realized that she is like a living painting herself. Some forces from above must have come together when they made her face.

Long story short a few months after that very first email and after taking away half the band members from the picture we now have an amazing painting of the 3 of us in aquarell. I can't tell you more for now, all I know is that we will use it for some kind of limited serie of T-shirt and Yes I think they will be very cool.

Bisous
Izzy
