Cheers to the good people at amazon.com for having superb taste and placing "The Last Party" at #19 on their BEST SONGS OF 2009 Chart!!!!

Ah yes, The Hampdens will join an esteemed crowd next Monday November 9th, when "Asleep On The Lawn" is featured on One Tree Hill. We have no idea how they will use the song, we're gunning for something supremely juicy, but we're pretty excited anyway.
Check local listings for channels and airtimes, we'll post a clip after for anyone without Tivo or an obsession with teen drama.

Yes, as those of you who've been following along know, today is the day that the Croupier ep was released in the States through iTunes. Happy times, indeed!
The track list is: Croupier, The Last Party, Philip Johnson Homes, and 4Real.
This time difference is a killer, so we'll keep this post short with the promise of more news to come soon.

Dear besties,

this is a quick love montage from Team Hampden to let you know about our last shows for the year! the band are jetting back from tropical locales to bring super end-of-year party-times to Sydney & Melbourne.

The shows are:

November 13 @ The Civic Hotel Sydney

November 20 @ Manchester Lane Melbourne

Tickets from www.Moshtix.com.au

This has been a pretty huge year for us with our debut record 'The Last Party' coming out in June through Warner and lots of touring with some of our bestest band friends around the country.

If you're in a newsagent or snooping around the interweb also check out the 6 page Hampdens feature in the current edition of FRANKIE magazine which was shot by long time Hampdens cheerleader Lou Bailey and styled by Nadia Barbaro.

Otherwise we have to apologise for not getting further afield for this last round of shows but it gives us something to look forward to over the summer!

Thanks to everyone for their love and support this year and we wish everyone the best for the onset of the festive season.

A big thanks to everyone who came to The Last Party launches in Sydney and Melbourne over the last couple of weeks! The shows were both sell outs (just like Jules, haha!) & there were some great support acts - Lovers Electric, The Greasers, Dann Hume, Gin Wigmore, and Polaroid Fame.

We are so excited to have our album out & to be playing these shows and seeing you guys singing along to the whole album! We also played a brand new demo that was only written a month ago which got a great response... kind of a Blondie meets Stevie Nicks meets the Clash garagey slice of sythesis - suprisingly upbeat for a Hampdens number. Who knows, maybe the shows for the next record will have Gav in a cage above the stage and Robbie drumming in an upside-down hydrolic drumsphere... can't wait to see Alon trying to play guitar with a snake coiled around him. Even if the shows sucked (because of wardrobe malfunctions) the after parties would be AMAZING!

Anyways, we are really looking forward to playing more shows around the country in the near future so we will keep you posted on upcoming gigs... watch this space for more hampdens gigs & news and make sure you request us on your local radio station too! Keep enjoying The Last Party and we will see you soon!

PS non-Hampdens record of the month is M83 Saturdays=Youth... it was the backstage soundtrack to these launch shows! also John M Cain's "Serenade" has been thumbed by many in team Hampden with great pleasure...

The Hampdens are mega excited to announce their launch shows for their debut record "The Last Party". The first shows are in Sydney and Melbourne with the other capitals to be anounced shortly. There are some brand new numbers, some very old numbers, and a few nicely aged numbers... and a few suprise numbers. Incidentally saying "numbers" for "songs" sounds better when you use a Liverpudlian accent.

THIS is what Clay had to say recently about the The Last Party: ... it's the visual and musical elements of The Hampdens working in tandem that make them so appealing. The all white attire alludes to a 'blank canvass' inviting colour and movement whilst musically there's influences that stretch from Air to west coast American pop, New Order and Portishead. The songs on The Last Party would work perfectly as a film score to a Virgin Suicides/Donnie Darko/ Less Than Zero hybrid. Dark and brooding with an ending that still gives you hope and comfort. "And I guess that really sums up the album," they said. "That whole notion of being detached from the world but looking into its heart."

THIS is what Spin Magazine said: "God they do go on."

AND THIS is what Noel Gallagher said: "They've got cracking tans"

Either way, if you can make any sense of this missive you will get the message that the very first Hampdens headlines shows for The Last Party are kicking off in July and they would probably love to see you if you are in Melbourne or Sydney or have access to a fire-apple red convertible and don't mind a long drive.

The Hampdens wish to advise that they will not be providing hand made chocolates on the night.

Also thanks to everyone who downloaded (legally you vultures!) the "Miami" single last week -it was a suprise 23 on the ARIA Charts which put a smile on the face of almost everyone except for a few Americans who disagreed that Miami DIDN'T feel like it was going to burn, but noted that it was home to quite a few retirees who like to eat dinner before 6pm.
