It's not finished :(
Since laying down more than the majority of the tracks we've sat on the record for a bit until Adam Skerritt arrived back from Canada on Tuesday and we were back in tidying up bits yesterday.

We've added a lot more texture, bit of piano, glock, xylophone, even vocals.
It's DFA as you've never heard it before. Or probably would want but that's not the point.

There was the intention of getting some brass players on some tracks but after two failed attempts, we're gonna give it one more go. We're also hoping a certain Cat can widdle some violin on the album too.

So we're getting there. Expect it to drop in...November.

We've just wound up day 3 of recording, it's been a very exhausting time of mind-bending insanity, intense hilarity and some serious experimentation along the way.
All the bass and drums were tracked on Saturday with a very pissed-up/sobering-up Wezlam doing a sterling job with just 2 hours sleep.
Danny Jones also ploughed through his bits with the minimum of bother.
Sunday was spent laying down extra persussive bits that Simmy and Breen smack out and again, and were recorded pretty swiftly and with extreme finesse. The rest of the day was spent recording some guitar parts and overdubs.There's a lovely acoustic which Simpson stuck over Cosbynaut. It's lush. That's one that's sounding particularly special at the minute!
Breen has also managed to summon Satan onto our record too with possibly the most ungodly filthy bass sound for Honestly Honesty Bosun Smee, our homage to a sorely missed Aussie genius.
Adam + Wezlam recorded the majority of their guitar parts today, while our brilliant engineer Aaron struggled with a misbehaving Pro Tools. A very big thanks should go out to Bo, the young lad doing his work experience at the studio, who helped us out in the re-stringing of Wezlam's new guitar with a very tempremental floating bridge. There's also something that was created today during a little boon break from recording serious guitar parts, called Cheese Flute. Can't say any more about that...
Not wanting to give too much away, we've got some mega treats lined-up.

We've also been playing about with titles for the record.
Breen likes 'Love's Calling' which would have a heart with a telephone on the front.

Wez + Simpson like 'Five Party Hits with Day For Airstrikes'.
Adam likes 'Looking In The Loft' or 'Tips'
Danny's not mithered what we call it, but seems quite taken with all the ideas.

We've got an absolute shedload of photographs that we'll put up very soon. Some videos, of varying quality, will appear soon too!

Back in on Wednesday to record some vocals..... that's right. For now, byebye!

So after a lot of waiting, we are finally booked in the studio for the end of June! Leaping straight from our show with The Longcut into the studio. It's gonna take a bit longer than we expected as it'll be done in fits and spurts over the course of the summer. But we're finally getting there! So sit tight, it'll be a very melodic autumn for you!

DFA takes up only one portion of our lives.
We don't wake up, play DFA then go back to sleep.
It'd be nice but it wouldn't make much of a life.

But no, we do other stuff, here's a little insight into what else we do.
