Desolate Studio FTW!

I am pleased beyond belief to be able to say this:

                Year of Desolation IS going to start tearing shit up again.

That's right, after a year and a half long hiatus, we've all talked and it's going to happen.  The line up is going to be:

Chad Z - Vokills
Mike Vandegriff - Bass
Matt Behner - Drums
Josh Kappel - Guitar
John Hehman - Guitar

Mike had to leave us about 2 and a half years ago because of some personal issues but he's got it all sorted out and we're glad to have him back on board.  That being said, Brandon Lytle is a 100% phenomenal Bassist, we appreciate him, the time he spent with us and we wish him all the best. Much love and respect Bran. <3


So what's going to happen? 

New material: We've got some stuff we've all been workin on the past 2+ years and we're gonna get together over the winter and try to finish it up and get it recorded.  It's going to be slightly different than what you're used to from us.   Bigger riffs, more memorable parts etc.  The "progressive" aspect will still be there but these songs are written with the "lets just fucking headbang" mentality.  Is it going to be the fastest shit we've ever done? if 265bpm isn't fast enough for you, go drive a Top fuel dragster. 
 
Record Label: Not holding our breath, this may be a self financed operation from here on out.  Maybe if we saw something on goldflek paper and inked in blood.

Touring: There is NO big rush to get back into touring, we're going to look for the right opportunities instead of just killing ourselves by taking everything that is thrown at us.  That being said, don't be surprised if you see us out around spring time next year.

Management: Who knows.


Now that we've got that all cleared up, Taking all questions! You there in the front row, with the big tits, what can WE do for you?

Feeling nostalgic, missing playing music, reminiscing about the good times.

How would you people feel if we made a conscious effort to make this band happen again? 

            I dunno if we'd tour, I do know that 99% of the material that I had written for the 3rd disc was alot more "simplistic" but bigger riffs and more memorable parts, musical maturity if you will.  Granted those songs are now between 1 & 1/2 and 3 years old  Hell, aside from this website, i don't even know how you'd hear it even if we did put aside "whatever" and record it, not to mention how we'd afford it hahaha.

             What do you people think? by the way, if you missed it, some of those 3rd disc songs can be heard here.

 Hey there everyone, we apologize for the lack of updates, we've been hard at work over the last few months writing a new record, we've got about 9 songs done and they are all expansive on our past works... The melodies are more melodius, the Thrash is more Hightop, and of course the deathmetal is still brutal hahaha! We're workin on getting some touring lined up and hopefully be in the studio sometime late this year!!! 

As far as the Video for "Suffer Thy Nemisis" goes, we're still going through "red tape" to get it aired on some television channels that you might all be familiar with.  But if worst comes to worst, we'll be releasing it on youtube and myspace shortly!
