Midwest Grassroots Scholarship Competition 2009

Deadline: Friday, May 29, 5pm CT

In order to promote participation and continuing education for PEG and Community Media practitioners throughout Midwest states (Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas), the Midwest Region of the Alliance for Community Media will be awarding four scholarship registrations to the ACM National Conference in Portland, Oregon, July 15-18, 2009. 

The National Conference will feature in-depth workshops, panel discussions, and speakers on the cutting edge of our work in community media. To find out more and register, visit www.alliancecm.org/portland. 

Two top prizes in the competition will be a full conference registration and a $500 travel stipend; the other two prizes will be a full conference registration (value of $410). The scholarships will be awarded to people and organizations that may not otherwise be able to attend the national conference, and those who wish to be members in the Alliance.

Last week, we lost a dear friend of CTV ... Jim Johnston. From 1988-2007 he served on the North Suburban Communications Commission and the Board of Directors of the North Suburban Access Corporation (CTV). His service to our organization will not be forgotten and he surely will be missed.
