so here we are, three months or so along with our new drummer. things sound good and we should be playing out by the end of this month, hopefully. we have a handful of songs, no one wants to kill anyone and yeah, we have a name. the quarrel. it doesn't really mean anything or anything like that. it's just a name and at this point, whatever. it may get changed, who knows. i think we ended up keeping four songs. two of which i don't even think we're played. then there is a crop of new ones that still need some rough edges sanded off. things will be good. some of this well be coming out of left field for people who liked us before and that's a good thing i suppose. we're turning into the rough little punk kid who is getting cleaned up and put in a suit. so yeah.

our band, with whatever our name turns out to be, is now sporting manual hernandez on drums. manual has played with 706 and the very brilliant and infamous, LIBIANCA. we are very happy to have him onboard.
things are gelling nicely and we are coming out of a rut--basically, everything is getting reworked, jettisoned, or being created from the new. it's a very exciting, heady and confusing time for us, especially me.
i am not sure what will come out at the end, but i feel very confident in the two songs we have ready and in the direction the other things or leaning. we'll see what happens.

Thanks to everyone who showed up at the Knoxville show. Things are progressing agonizingly wonderful. Well, with as much sense as that makes. Thanks to those of you who have supported us thus far. We appreciate it to no end.

This is from Nick English, of Contrast NC ( http://www.contrastnc.com)
A commonly accepted date for the Fall of Rome is 476. Edward Gibbon in his Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, concurs. The reasoning behind this date is the replacement of the last emperor who ruled from Rome, with that of the Germanic Odoacer. However, those with even a moderate understanding of the history of Rome can place the beginning of said fall with the death of Caesar. It may be said that Caesar’s Ghost haunted Rome until Rome officially fell.
With the tumultuous demise of Caesar’s Ghost in 2005, Jeff Atkins’ set out not to continue his former vision, but create something new and better. This new artistic movement however, is something truer that still echos the cry that was Caesar's Ghost. Something created out of, and during destruction. These are often times the moments in life that are undeniably memorable, and often times the most beautiful. “Populist Manifesto…,” may warrant the most re-listens for some, it seems to be easily relatable for all of us who have trouble sleeping at night. An immediate sense of longing is felt, longing for something or someone more, set to the images of coffee, cigarettes, waiting, sitting, looking. This song lets you enjoy the waiting and looking.
“Six Miles,” may be the best song that you ever have a chance of hearing live at a local venue. It is a mirror in the face of someone that’s always been the one you yearn for, regardless of where you are in life. There is regret and frustration in this song, but also hope and an understanding. Understanding that a acceptance of situations may be required in some ways, yet we can always dream and plot. You will feel the ending drums echo your heart on this track.
“Turkish Gold” has the spirit of a Pegboy song, combined with a mysterious tone that you beg to say more-but wisely, Atkins knows how to leave one wanting more. Fall of Rome is, in fact, helping build the scene, and instead of relying on their loyalty and friendship to others who share their love of music, they have let their music do the talking. We are all most certainly listening.
