Ryan Tedder, Grammy nominated songwriter, producer, and frontman for OneRepublic, recently locked out Suite B at Ante Up to finish up some production work. Mr. Tedder, along with AUA engineer Jimmy Frysinger, worked on songs for Paul Oakenfold, Kelly Clarkson’s “Impossible” from her new album All I Ever Wanted, and One Republic.
While here, Mr. Tedder greatly enjoyed our expansive list of gear and microphones, specifically our TELEFUNKEN USA Ela M251. Check out the article on MIX here: http://blog.mixonline.com/briefingroom/2009/05/11/ryan-tedder-chooses-telefunken-usa-at-ante-up-audio/

Rob Thomas, the lead singer for Matchbox Twenty, recently visited the Graphite Lounge at Ante Up Audio for a Q104 CoffeeHouse session. Arguably one of the most influential songwriters of the past decade, Mr. Thomas graced lucky Q104 winners with acoustic versions of Matchbox Twenty's “3 A.M.”, and “Lonely No More”. He also performed “Her Diamond’s” from his new solo album Cradlesong. Check out the pictures of Mr. Thomas on the Graphite Lounge stage and with some of our staff. We wish him the best of luck on his new album, and hope to work with him again soon! Grammy nominated alternative-pop-rock band, The Plain White T’s, made a stop in Cleveland on March 12 and while they were here, performed a small, intimate gig at Ante Up Audio for Q104’s Coffee House Concert series. The band performed an acoustic set of four songs including their smash hit, “Hey There, Delilah.” After the show, the band held a meet and greet for fans, who were then able to take pictures and get autographs. The band is just one of the many musicians making Ante Up Audio the place to stop while in Cleveland.

With decades of rich musical history, a classic piano is re-born thanks to a recent purchase made by Cleveland-based recording studio: Ante Up Audio Ante Up Audio, Cleveland's world-class recording facility, recently welcomed a beautifully maintained 1951 Steinway grand piano into its musical family. This classic Steinway Model B, which was originally owned by the Cleveland Orchestra, is now housed in Ante Up Audio's SSL Suite. Steinway pianos are widely revered as the finest in the world and are acclaimed for their full, rich tone and excellent playability. Ante Up Audio's new addition is already creating a buzz amongst Cleveland's music scene. "Even with recent technological advances in the realm of virtual instruments, nothing compares to the sounds of a genuine piano", offers multi-platinum award winning producer and engineer Michael Seifert; "Steinways are incredible instruments. I recently recorded our Steinway for the first time and the results were nothing short of stunning". The Steinway is available to all artists recording in Ante Up's newly expanded SSL Suite at no additional charge. After making major additions to the equipment in The Neve Suite earlier this year, Ante Up Audio is excited to announce our next phase of expansion. Suite B now features an SSL 4000 series console with Total Recall/Automation. The console was recapped and completely refurbished by Louis Benedetti (81 Series) prior to installation in early July. The console is supplemented by a fully loaded ProTools HD 3 Accel system and an amazing array of outboard gear nearly identical to the list of items currently available in The Neve Suite (see equipment list for more details). In addition to the gear, Ante Up has also physically expanded the SSL Suite adding five unique recording spaces. This expansion includes a large live room, two medium sized isolation booths, an amp isolation booth, and a second story "loft" booth that looks down into the large live room. These rooms (which are visually linked via a custom closed circuit video array) provide extremely flexible isolation and sonic options unsurpassed by any studio in the Midwest. For more information or to schedule a tour, please email Danielle@anteupaudio.com or call 216.432.8000.
