Word from the hive over at Spooky Tree Records is that the 12" version of "Obsoleter" (my long out-of-print cassette EP) should be out in time for some solo touring in April. I just did a vinyl master for it and I'm psyched to have it out in the world again. This time I'll make a digital version available too.
Here's my 11 favorite shows of 2008. Pitchfork was nice enough to run it, but I wanted to clarify, since everyone else listed favorite albums. Rad Shows:
KRS-One: East Village Radio Fest (New York, NY) Dead C/Sightings/Northampton Wools: Bowery Ballroom (New York, NY) Cacaw: The Annex Theater (Baltimore, MD) Japanther: Guerrilla Williamsburg Bridge Bike Path Show (East River, NY) Diagram A: The People's Pint (Greenfield, MA) Gowns: The Smell (Los Angeles, CA) Bob Mould: All Tomorrow's Parties (Monticello, NY) Ed Schrader: Cake Shop (New York, NY) Extra Life: Less Artists More Condos (New York, NY) Harvey Milk: Festsaal Kreuzberg (Berlin, Germany) White Fang: Election Night @ UC Irvine (Irvine, CA)

My Peoples, Two shows this week: tonight in Williamsburg, and Saturday in Manhattan (loft show in Manhattan!). A note about tonight: The Dodos were billed as "not-so-secret-guests", but their singer got real sick, and now they are "even-less-secret non-guests". Should still be awesome. I'm conveniently slotted nice and early (first) at both shows. Come rage. -Dan

Current mood: sleepy
Home from tour. Beat. Psyched. Big thanks to everyone who helped me out on this tour, including the Jamestown NY crew, Oneida, Bon Iver, BusMaster, Ed Schrader, Joe Wong, etc, etc, etc.
Also, my rental car had satellite radio. I heard the same Hold Steady song four times, and it's the one where he SINGS ABOUT SATELLITE RADIO. Shit is corny.
I'm playing some really sweet shows next month (more to come). After that the new P&L LP drops, and we'll be all over the place on tour. Sweet.

This tour is going to be awesome. That is, unless this band headlining the early show in Cleveland destroys music forever.....
Millioniares are the latest internet sensation. They hit the Top Artists Unsigned charts on Myspace within their first week of forming, & hit 1 Million plays within the first 2 months. DJ's all across the US are already spinning their tracks in hippest night clubs. They formed in mid August '07 and consist of three teenage girls with crazy style and attitute. They have fast electronic beats that will make you want to dance, & sassy, in-your-face lyrics that you can't help but sing-along to. Everyone who listens to these girls know they're going to be the next big thing
