We here at Alternative Press like to think we know a thing or two about throwing a decent SXSW party. There was the time we put Paramore, Thursday, Ted Leo and Minus The Bear all on the same bill in 2006; then there was 2007, when Jack's Mannequin, Circa Survive, the Horrors and the Devil Wears Prada all intermingled. So with our batting average at a clean 1.000, we bring you the lineup for our 2008 SXSW party, taking place Saturday, March 15 at Emo's in Austin, Texas. The party will feature 24 bands over four different stages, with doors opening at noon. As always, our SXSW parties are 100% free, all-ages and open to the public. We encourage mad road-tripping for this one! Here's the stage-by-stage breakdown:

ROCKSTAR STAGE (Emo's)
Chiodos
Scary Kids Scaring Kids
The Matches
Portugal. The Man
The Maine
Foxy Shazam

VANS STAGE (Emo's Annex)
The Rocket Summer
Man Man
Sonny
Forever The Sickest Kids
The Gaslight Anthem
Charlotte Sometimes

SKELANIMALS STAGE (Emo's IV)
All Time Low
Anthony Green
Does It Offend You, Yeah?
Georgie James
The Valley Arena

WARPED TOUR STAGE (Emo's Jr.)
Beat Union
Oreskaband
Ill Scarlett
Delux
The Saint Alvia Cartel
Tat

For astute readers, you may have noticed I said there's 24 bands playing but only 23 are listed. Does that mean there is a super-secret special guest? I suppose only time will tell...

Fearless Records is currently gearing up for the April 8 release of Punk Goes Crunk, which features 15 bands covering hip-hop classics, including Say Anything, New Found Glory and Scary Kids Scaring Kids, as well as two names that immediately jumped out at us -- All Time Low and Forever The Sickest Kids. As many of you know, both ATL and FTSK are on the AP Tour this year, and we just had to have those songs before anyone else. So head to the AP Tour page to stream ATL's cover of Rhianna's "Umbrella" anad FTSK's cover of Will Smith's "Men In Black" -- it's the only place on the whole internets that you can hear 'em!

Hey everyone,

This is Chris, the subscriptions manager at AP.  Scott and I were talking the other day and he mentioned that a lot of you are pretty bummed out and/or confused about what the "US Only" deal means in regards to a subscription being included with your Canadian AP Tour ticket or not. The simplest answer is that no, a subscription is not included with your ticket if you live in Canada. A subscription is only included if you live in the US.

It's not that we don't want you, our beautiful Canadian friends, to have subscriptions, I promise. We'd love to be able to do it. The thing is, we have this whole "we have to stay in business" thing we have to think about and mailing stuff to Canada just ain't cheap. Look at it this way: Even at the standard $36 you have to pay to get a one-year subscription in Canada, it's better than dishing out $6 a pop buying in stores every month. You end up paying twice as much over the course of the year and you don't even get the subscriber-only covers that way!

To sum it up:
  • If you live at a US address, a subscription is included with your ticket.
  • If you live at a US address and are going to a Canadian show you can claim a US subscription.
  • If you live at a Canadian address, a subscription is not included with your ticket.
  • If you live at a Canadian address and are going to a US show, you cannot claim a Canadian subscription.

We're still trying to work something out to get all of you Canadian residents a sweet subscription deal at the show, so sit tight. We'll try to announce something before the shows, but I'm not making any promises. If I were you, I'd just plan on stopping by the AP booth right when you walk through the door.

Oh! One last thing, as we've been getting this question a lot, too: If you pre-ordered your tickets through Ducat King, then we already have your address and your free subscription will start this month. If you bought tickets through another outlet or plan on buying them the night of the show but still want to claim your subscription, then click below:

Hey everyone! It's Scott Heisel, AP's music editor. So check it out: We were so excited for our upcoming 100 Bands You Need To Know In 2008 issue that, instead of making two covers like we have in past years, we've made five covers, four of which will go on sale everywhere March 4, with the fifth being subscriber-only -- and if you're a fan of the AP Tour, let me tell you, you're going to be mega-stoked on these things!

We're revealing the covers exclusively on the AP Tour MySpace page in the image gallery, but there's a catch: You have to be the AP Tour's friend to be able to see them!

AP 237.1 is ALL TIME LOW -- on sale everywhere March 4!

AP 237.2 is THE MATCHES -- on sale everywhere March 4!

AP 237.3 is THE ROCKET SUMMER -- on sale everywhere March 4!

AP 237.4 is SONNY -- on sale everywhere March 4!

AP 237.5 is THE AP TOUR made exclusively for subscribers -- you won't find this cover in stores ever!

Again, the only place you can see these covers is on the AP Tour MySpace page, and only if you add the AP Tour as a friend, so hop to it!

Seeing as the Matches are part of of the AP Tour this year and we're sort of in love with their new record, A Band In Hope (out March 18 on Epitaph -- make sure to buy it!), we convinced the Bay Area rockers to let us exclusively debut one of the disc's new tracks, "Point Me Toward The Morning." You can only stream the song at the AP Tour mini-site, so head on over there and rock that sucker out!

Hey dudes and dudettes, it's Scott, AP's music editor. I had the distinct pleasure of sitting down with all four boys in All Time Low a few months back to record an AP Acoustic Session, and I gotta tell you, it was by far one of the most fun sessions I've been a part of. You can stream the whole thing by clicking on the image below -- I hope you like it!
