Urbanizm Music Releases Collaborative Album, The Preview

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

December 17, 2009
Contact: Duane C. Thorpe, urbanizmmusic@gmail.com

LUTZ, FL--Urbanizm Music today released its first collaborative album, Urbanizm Music Presents: The Preview. The Preview, Urbanizm's first full-length album, is available for download at http://www.urbanizmmusicstore.com.

Featuring backing instrumentals by Urbanizm's own DCT and Diggi Dis among others, The Preview was produced with the goal of presenting a lyrical display and sonic backdrop reminiscent of the golden age of hip hop music.

DCT, owner of Urbanizm Music and coordinator of The Preview, states, "There are a ton of cliches thrown around about the lack of quality in hip hop and rap music, but with The Preview, we wanted to say the good hip hop still exists. Hopefully this will be a 'preview' to a resurgence in high quality hip hop."

Urbanizm Music Releases Debut Singles From Khakolak Boy, Noodle The Innocent Child

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 25, 2009
Contact: Duane C. Thorpe, urbanizmmusic@gmail.com

LUTZ, FL--Urbanizm Music today released Khakolak Boy's My Baby and Noodle the Innocent Child's Celebrate Life, the debut singles from The Future and It's a N00 Day, respectively. Both songs are available for streaming and paid download at http://www.myspace.com/urbanizmmusic.

My Baby, the debut single for Khakolak Boy's The Future, is produced by B-Lyn and features an appearance by singer/music producer T-Dub. "B-Lyn came to me with the beat and his ideas and I pretty much ran with it," Khakolak Boy said regarding The Future's lead-off single. "I tried my best to word the lyrics in a way that 'Baby' could apply to anything, whether it's their significant other, a material possession, or even an addiction." The Future will be available online on August 25, 2009.

Noodle the Innocent Child's Celebrate Life features Ella "E. Lazel" Morales singing chorus over an M-Nasty production. "This song is made for everyone to enjoy," Noodle says. "It reminds the people of the world today, how important each moment of life is, in a genuine hip hop style. We must enjoy life as much as we can. With the way things are around the world right now, we have to! The meaning of celebrating life is basically enjoying life every moment possible!" It's a N00 Day will be released on September 22, 2009, with a music video for Celebrate Life to premiere shortly after that date.

Urbanizm Music was truly saddened to hear about the passing of pop culture icon, Michael Jackson. Jackson, who died on June 25, 2009, had a profound impact on virtually all of Urbanizm’s artists throughout his 45 years in the music industry, and they join the world in mourning his loss. “It’s hard,” says Noodle the Innocent Child about Jackson’s passing. “Rest in peace, Michael. We took a big loss as far as music goes, but his music’s gonna live on forever. That man was very, very talented. God bless his soul and may his music live on.” Skrybe made the following comment regarding Jackson’s death: “Well ... that's it. What now? I'm kinda shocked. I mean...what now? This ain't ‘one of the greats.’ This is MICHAEL JACKSON.”

Diggi Dis, who was admittedly influenced by the late King of Pop, was “kinda flabbergasted by [the news of Jackson’s death]. So weird.” Urbanizm Music owner DCT made the following statement: “I’m still trying to register this as something that isn’t a bad dream. To me, Michael Jackson was more than just an artist who sold tons of records and racked up awards. He was the composer of the soundtrack to my childhood, and a huge part of my childhood died with him.”

Escape Route say "Change Gonna Come..." with new rap mixtape.
by Larry Oji

Rap fans who enjoyed DCT & Just Us's Sonic the Hedgehog 3 OC ReMix, "Memories Frozen in Time" wanna check out the new mixtape from two out of the three members of Just Us. Andre "N00dle" Rainey and Steve "Feature MC" Roberts have teamed up as Escape Route for their newest album, Change Gonna Come...

With guest appearances by a number of artists, including fellow Just Us member VanElliott "CYPH-LOW" Chambless, N00dle has been pimping the album left and right to anyone who'll listen. If you're a rap fan, you won't be wasting your time.
For some of the tracks, the production lacked some polish that I would have pushed for, but favorites of mind included "Give Me Wings," the slick beats of "Another Everyday," and the subtle bass work of "What’s Goin On?," and the groove-driven "I'm a Ride." Besides the great music sampled and reworked for the mixtape, every one of those tracks plays to Escape Route's most significant strength: fashioning personal, heartfelt, intelligent lyrics. If you don't believe me, listen up:
