Hey guys!

For all of you who came to the last show and made it the amazing night it was, thank you soooooo much, couldn't have gone better! -SUPER gratefull.

Thanks to - This City Burns, Open the Skies and Lioness for supporting and Josh for playing bass for us, Aaron for coming from London to do a track with us.

For all of you we met over the years, either slept at your house, got drunk with or played a show with, we'll miss you all - We all still hang out all the time and laugh about old times! PLENTY of characters - you know who you are!

So if you were at the last show you would have seen Aaron Sidwell (Steven Beale- Eastenders) get up and sing 'Devils House of Mirrors' with us!

...and as I said at the show, I've now started a band with him, nothing like NATO, but its good stuff, refreshing to be doing something so diverse. I'm really enjoying it!

http://www.myspace.com/justlikeyourock

We'll be out doing club tours later in the year so lets have all the 'characters' back out to say hello! - add us up and keep track of what we're up to!

Hope your all well.

Thanks for the memories!

Tuesday, October 07, 2008

Hey guys and girls!

Well... some of you seen it coming, others we told, others this will come to you as a suprise.

After 4 years of working our asses off, we have decided to call it a day.

In 2008 we started writing the second album, we maybe took it a bit too seriously, practising everyday and being really picky about everything. We never once argued but it all ended up getting very depressing, being in my cold garage every single day and not getting anywhere fast! I was personally going to bed at around 5-6am, getting up at 1pm for practice and then doing it all over again and again...everyday. I was a mess! It was something I wish never to go through again!

The March/April tour was amazing, out of 5 weeks of gigging... there was only 2 dodgy shows... the rest were really busy, no-one pissed us around and we had an amazing time.

We came home after the tour, but no-one really wanted to get stuck in the rut of the garage practises again, although no-one said anything! So in between the easter tour and the summer tour we never managed to get much done, we just wanted to get back on the road... or at least most of us did.

Sam our new bass player was miserable from day one of the summer tour and it was quite obvious to everyone he was going to leave, so he left half way through the tour, leaving us with a whole month's worth of shows in August with no bass player, cheers mate!

Luckily Josh from "This City Burns" covered and learned the whole set in like 3 days, what a star! Josh has always been amazing to us. He recorded all the bass guitar parts for the songs on our myspace at the moment and played bass for us until Jay broke his collar bone and dislocated his shoulder. He's an massive talent when playing any instrument and also in the studio, I can't express how much we love this dude and his sense of humour!

So Jay was in a sling and unable to do shows, we had no choice but to cancel the rest of the tour and returned home. A few days later, I was over at Ben's house like any normal day! Ben sat me down in the conservatory and told me he wouldn't be doing the second album with us.

This obviously really upset me, it was Ben and I that started the band when we were 16, working from 5am till 4pm together in a bakery in Penryn, just so we could make ends meet! Our dream was forever getting closer but I knew it wouldn't be the same without him and we would never see that dream together.

Ben and I went down to Jays house and told him the news. Funny enough, Jay and I had spoken a few weeks before (after Sam leaving) and said "If Ben ever left... that would be it"

So, Jay and I already knew the band had run its course.

We decided to play Newton Abbot and Plymouth, both were really good shows, I even crowd surfed on my "tour blow-up bed" in Plymouth, good times.

This bit is the most important bit... I may sound a bit like a hypocrite, but so be it.....

I hate it when bands say, we are still best friends with "the guy that left" and we love him so much and wish him all the best! When in reality, its awkward and you don't hang out anymore blah, blah, blah. We said the same about Josh and Luke after they left, I have nothing against them, nice guys, but I never see them or hang out with them.

Jay, Ben and myself are still best mates and have hung out pretty much everyday over the last couple of months since the band split. Mike doesn't really hang out with us but he still lives with me and we are obviously really close and he comes out when we can afford to have a night on the town! REMADIES!

______________________________________________________________________________

So life moves on, and everyones been asking what we are up to.

Ben managed to get into university this year at very short notice to study broadcasting and got through the interview still drunk from the night before, with no sleep! haha....how!?!?

Jay's decided to join the Royal Marines and starts an eight month training session in January if all goes to plan after the injury to his shoulder.

Mike wants to carry on with music, in the mean time he has been helping out with local bands around Cornwall and he's enjoying being a bit of a socialite!

I personally have just been on tour around Europe with NATO friends "Yashin" and I've been catching up with old friends and family around the country! I wouldn't even consider not continuing with music, so I'll now be playing drums for Aaron Sidwell (otherwise known as "Steven Beale" from Eastenders) If your expecting anything like NATO, please don't ever listen to us.

Our last show will be on-

December 20th

Current mood:  exhausted

Dear all.

On a day off last week we were traveling north of the M11 where we stopped for a bite to eat and a game of footy!

Due to alot of unnecessary jumping around, Jay our vocalist ended up dislocating his sholder and breaking his collar bone.

We spent all that day and night in hospital with him and canceled the next days show in louth.

We traveled home the day after where Jay went to his local hospital a few days later.

Jay has been told by the doctors his sholder may never be the same again, he needs to have a special sling made on monday and see a specialist for the rest of the year.

We are all completly gutted about Jays situation and having to CANCEL the rest of the dates on the tour- apart from:

Newton Abbot - Forde Hall - 21st Aug

Plymouth - White Rabbit - 22nd Aug

We are giving it a rest for the remainer of the year and writing and recording the second album. So we will be back bigger and better with some new tunes early 2009.

Thank you for your time.

Cya in N.A or Plymouth.... or next year.

Ross, Ben, Mike, Jay.

Current mood:  hungry

On Thursday 26th of June we had the pleasure of being the one and only support act for big haired New York rockers Coheed and Cambria!

Prior to arriving to the venue we met up with the lovely people at Rising Records and had a MASSIVE burger, now when I say massive... these burgers were £10 each! Two 6 oz. burgers, egg, bacon... everything, kicked the crap outta all off us! Why would they make a burger that big?!

Around 2.00pm we all trotted off to the Pavilion where we said hello to a few of the guys from Coheed and watched their sound check - was awesome, felt like a private show ha!

We sound checked shortly after and left everything set up ready for the sold out crowd to feast their eyes upon!

We started at 8.15pm and finished around half an hour later. After every show we give; ourselves, the venue, the crowd and toilet's a mark out of 10. As a support act we didn't think anything could have gone better, we were a bit worried that we are quite a bit heavier than Coheed but plently of wee NATO lads and lass' came out and my mother was at the back with some biker dudes who also enjoyed themself's!

Got the wall of death, some nu-metal 90's pogo action and had our own personal toilet, so 10 out of 10 from my sweaty drum seat!

After the show I got to have a good chat with Chris Pennie about; Coheed, Dillinger, America and Mapex drums (HINT... watch this space!) which was amazing as when Chris was in the band I was a BIG Dillinger fan (Bennay and I sleeping on the streets of Exeter to watch them when we were 15!)

We even met Andy Sneap!?!?! Who is one of our favourite metal producers (Killswitch, Trivium, Megadeth... insert load's of mint sounding albums) He was there with his girlfriend as she was taking photos, very pleasant surprise!

So after we all went to a house party and Jay got to the point where he couldn't really talk anymore! HA!

Big thanks to Katie SW1, Joe and Dan (good job!)  the Coheed lads and their nuts crew (If you were at the show the guy that ran out in the batman suit! haha) & the supportive family members from the band for merch & holding cardboard signs in the air!

So now we are back on day 5 of our 2 month toilet tour, back to reality! Though the Coheed dream of a night we had was incredible and can't thank everyone enough for making it that bit more special for turning up and having a gay old time.

If you catch us at a show this summer, make sure you ask Jay how his hair growing is going (Norman ended up with Claudio of Coheed and has decided to grow his hair!) So bring plenty of hair products to the gigs this summer to encourage Jay to beat the New York rocker!..... I heard Sea Calp is good ;-)

Video's from the night will be found in our next tour video we are currently filming. Photo's from the night will be up ASAP, though if you fancy a sneak peek it's www.fotomaze.com.

We only managed to find one review of the night so far (if anyone stubbles across one please forward it our way please!)  from Rock Beast!

Rock Beast Review 2008 - Coheed & Cambria with support from NATO

I for one couldn't believe that Coheed And Cambria were playing Falmouth as a one off date and I still couldn't believe it until I walked through the venue doors and saw there merchandise lining the walls and then it finally settled in that yes indeed they were playing tonight.

First and foremost though there was the matter of local five piece Nato kicking up a storm and getting everyone fired up for Coheed. Showing off a stage presence well beyond their years Nato used every inch of the stage to get the crowd on their side which didn't make much with so many tonight already knowing a lot of Nato's material. Playing tracks new and old the pits formed early on much to the delight of Nato, maybe not everyone's cup of tea tonight being a different style of band to Coheed but Jay summed it up perfectly when he said 'thank you for your support even if you think were shit you still stuck around'. Nato in their genre are a top quality act and you can understand just why they are tipped for big things.

Current mood:  excited

Hey all.

As some of you may or may not know.

We are playing The Corn Exchange in Camborne, Cornwall on the 27th of June as a warm up for our 2 month UK summer tour!

When on our last stupidly big tour... we ran into a band, whos singer was Aaron Sidwell (aka Steven Beale Eastenders) we had a very good night with them, had a good laugh and we stayed at the venue for a few hours after, told horrible stories and Aaron looked on in disgust at a few of us with bottles of tesco value vodka otherwise known as "paint stripper"

So yeh, good night... funny, all that lot. We kept in contact and then decided to ask Bitter Conflict to come support us on our Camborne show.

First of all their guitarist was in Europe at the time, but they said they'd do it anyways with the one guitarist they had left. Now their drummer has found out he has an exam that day so they gave in and said wont be able to play.

BUT!

Aaron, Tom and Charles are still going to come down and party for the weekend, which means Aaron will come on stage that night and do one or two songs with us on the night! thats gona be messy... deffo! In more ways than one. 3 or 4 infact.

So NATO vs Eastenders is a bit of a lie... as we have united as one, natoenders or eastnato... whatever you like. one off show.

Camborne Corn Exchange - Natoenders - June 27th- Free before 9pm - over 18's only

P.s. we are working on doing an under 18's show in the afternoon/evening. hang tight!

In the mean time me (Ross) and Jay have VIP tickets to the metal hammer awards on monday, proper looking forward to it, that will be messy in one way only with our drink tokens! Will Smith if you are reading... please go!!!

In the mean time... Incubus are gona kill download tomorrow! Cant wait!

Thank for reading!

Current mood:  rockin

So if you don't know already, we are working hard on our second album. If you have our 1st you will realise there has been changes in our line up which will obviously reflect in this second album both musically and personally.

We are all so proud of 'Kill the fox…' but, we were just kids writing songs so we could play gigs saying that, this was the best learning curve of my life, so much has happened and so much has changed. We are a lot stronger, ok we have 2 new members one of which done all the touring for 'kill the fox..' and I'm sure you all know and love, mike who lives with me, so couldn't be much closer.

At the moment we are out in my garage every single day! doing about 6hours a day trying to write the best songs we possibly can (obviously everyone's opinions are different, haha) we would be lying if we said it was easy! If anything we feel is average… or even just good, we are ditching it! which means finished tracks aren't getting together very quickly but the ones we have are perfect, which is how we want the whole album to be!

If your wondering what the tracks are like... hmmm, they are defiantly very different from the first album! It's a lot more mature, not stereotypical metalcore like 'Kill the fox…'. There's heavy as hell bits, there's some ace chorus', weird ambient sections and some epic moments! Hahaha Bennay even got his dual solo out t'other day!! CHED. I seriously can't wait to get it all recorded so everyone can hear what we have and will continue to work so hard on!

We are recording demos for 3 of tracks at the moment, In Penzance with our good mate Josh from 'This city burns' check'em out! All with our new bassist William! (aahahaha aka Willy, Sam, Smollis, Sorry, Tech, Nerd) then we can look/listen to the tracks from a different point of view and hopefully, up the standard once again!

We are really lucky our label has cut us some slack on time and wants this to be the record of our life!!... as do we! We want every note and every beat of every track and gap and interlude to be as good as we could possibly could make it.

So that's what we are up to… not being slack and not playing shows, putting EVERYTHING we have into making what I sure won't be anything but genius… if its not… god take me!! hahaha

Get along to the shows in the March/April headline tour, we will be playing the 3 tracks we have demoed cause we've picked the crap out of them!!
