I just got my voice back.

Singing is a healing force, and I've been working on curing a cold for the past week. The Saturday gig was a bit rough - it felt like chasing a glass ball around with the pointy end of a toothpick. Notes would just wander off, and the air was hard to hold on to. Still, I survived.

Not one to miss an opportunity, I used the extra mass on the cords to explore some lower notes, down to A1 (55Hz). And somehow the other direction worked, too, extending up to A5 (880Hz). My normal range is smaller (E2 to C5 non-falsetto), so it's good to take advantage of a chance to explore beyond that.

But by yesterday evening my voice was nothing but a tangled rasping. Not because of the range experiments - just due to the normal progression of the cold.

And today it came back. It felt SO good to be singing along with the radio!
