Hey guys,
We thought we'd add a few of the new pieces we are drawing from and recording right now. All pieces are collaborations of Chickasaw Jeff Carpenter and Choctaw Brad Clonch. They are roughs and mp3 quality, let us know what you think!
The new album "Fight For Survival" will feature 12 tracks, many that were posted do not have the flute in them yet, we are still flute driven and it will carry the melody always! Enjoy----Feedback is welcome, some are only small samples of the song acoustically before we Injunuity Rock it! :)

Current mood: artistic
2009 kicked off to a great start. After winning the Ada First Night out Battle of the Bands, we were able to take the money (which we are waiting on the check) and send it to the NAMA for their Winter Relief Charity for the Pine Ridge Residents. News 9 came down and did a small piece on Jeff and Brad which you can search on www.news9.com and watch the story. We found out that we scored two performance line ups at the 2009 Gathering of Nations, one on Stage 49, the other on the Pit Floor right before Grand Entry. That place will be packed and will be the largest crowd that any of us has ever performed in front of. Jeff started laying down the tracks for the 2009 album "Fight For Survival" which will be the groups first full length CD project. Hopefully with many more to come. The group added two new players to help on large venues. Robbie Blair brings some smooth groove bass and James Purdy has helped out tremendously with the acoustic sound on the Djembe, but we haven't forgotten our Rock N' Native roots, we'll still hit on the rock with the full kit every now and then. We've auditioned for the Oklahoma Heritage Battle of the Bands which hopefully we made the cut to compete for $1000 greens in March. It looks to be a busy year for Injunuity. We can't thank fans enough for encouraging words, opportunity's we get from word of mouth, and our families for their support. One big hug and thank you for this year's events to come!

Hi Injunuity Fans and Friends,
This isn't a chain or a forward, but it's a call for help. Injunuity is joining the grass roots effort to help raise money for the communities/reservations of Rosebud and Pine Ridge. These two communities are in dire need of energy assistance. The economy has hit us all hard, but this place is unimaginable with the living conditions given to them, especially during this upcoming hard winter season. SO, what you can do is go to the Native American Music Awards page http://www.nativeamericanmusicawards.com/ AND MAKE A DONATION, or any sales from Injunuity and Finding Windsong CD's off of CDBaby.com will be donated to the effort through Christmas. So, two ways to give, direct donation, or buy an album and have the proceeds go straight to the cause. This is one thing that defines our native ancestry and our blood, the ability to come together and help a neighboring tribe. We are a giving people, let us remain that way.

So....after 10 years of album work....2 nominations from past albums....I finally win a NAMMY with my good friend, co-writer AND Chickasaw Jeff Carpenter. It's been a crazy year since Jeff and I formed the group known as Injunuity. We actually started off calling ourselves Indentation, but with the help of another well known composer, Jered Tate (forgive me Jered for leaving out your given Chickasaw name) we stuck with Injunuity. Although maybe not politically correct, what we are doing shines positive light on the music and the preservation of one of our cultures most recognized icons which was almost forgotten and lost. Jeff and I started with an acoustic guitar and a few native flutes. We grew and played with other native musicians and travelled the United States and Oklahoma to play at some very cool places and meet very cool people. I just wanted to drop kudos to Jeff for being a mature musician at such a young age. Although Jeff and I both have several genres we listen to, I appreciate the fact that someone puts as much time and effort into creating and preserving a new genre of music that helps save a piece of our culture. Jeff is one hell of a musician and composer and what I can not do, he can with ease, and vice versa. Although it is back to Jeff and I as a duet with Injunuity and playing acoustic shows, we are beginning work on the next album, the next full length album "Fight For Survival" (2009). We are confident we will find a few more native musicians that feel the spirit of our music and share the same hard work and dedication ensuring we keep contributing to the native american music scene. Without the help of the Chickasaw Nation, our families, and friends support, we truly wouldn't have made it as far as we have in one year. Yakoke to you all-
Brad

We just got back from Gathering of Nations and it rocked! The musicians were awesome, the stage set up was professional and the staff made it run smooth as a stream! Special kudos to Emergence Productions and all their work that went into the show on Stage 49. 2008 Gathering of Nations was too cool! Looking forward to next year! Also, thanks to the new fans and friends we made along the journey.

Although the only reason we showed up to the New Years Eve celebration is that being an all Native American band, we misheard and misread the ad which we thought was "Battle of the Lands". Not only that, but being that we were on Indian time, we almost missed the gig. Just kidding, not really, but only playing together for about 4 months and cutting an EP "Unconquered" and getting 2nd place out of several bands that have history is sort of a blessing. James, our bass player, rocked out playing equally as hard and as technical against his very own band The Jimmy Bones Experience. Boyd played an awesome show but we are retiring his amp....shhhh we haven't told him yet. Jeff rocked as usual getting down and showing his two guitars at once playing skill....well not really at once, but back to back with maybe 2 beats between the guitars. And nate, well this was Nates last show with us. 2008 is going to be a busy year and we will miss having him but he has a great dedication to his band. He was truly an injunuity member showing up 5 minutes before we went on...true Indian time...he will be missed. Thank all of those who came out and supported injunuity in battle of the lands....I mean bands! Our EP is now available.
