I started writing this song the day after coming home from a long and draining AKB tour back in 2004. I found these old recorded files on my laptop today and re-worked this track into what it is now. All live takes were recorded directly into the laptop built in mic. .....Thus the cold digital/ambient hissssss.
I remember when writing this feeling the need to be more present and engaged in the process of life rather than lost in the speed and pressures within my projected fantasy of what the future might or might not hold.

this is a journey of discovery the quiet ride into the stream an uniflated understanding- all there is a look into our essence reality behind false walls and peace alone the fountain to drink from then to become
when the night falls over the scene lost in reflection I may cry out it's so clear *
* I am on my way we are traveling to nowhere and it sounds like an answer I am on my way we are surrounded by white walls in the caverns of coal mines(calm minds)
so the man in the mountain looked more like a weed in the sand get it right it doesn't matter get it wrong, get the ring it's just your chemical perception another way to see the same thing just another way to see the same thing
when the night falls over the scene found meditation and I may cry out it's so clear *
what is it that leads me to this afterglow a million people staring from their seats torn between the colors black and white fighting to fulfil unfulfilable appetites

so.. I am sitting in my normal window seat at the Cafe On The Corner in Dover sending out e-mails,talking on the phone and listening to music when all of a sudden some hustle starts around me. The room is taken over with press..the police are rushing outside(cheers Spidel).. I am checking out the new mix of the Dejas Dimness of the light when to my left Barack Obama is giving me a direct eye to eye smirk/grin through the window. So I give an uncomfortable Fonzie like thumbs up to him and a smile. The Cafe is filled with press and people looking to talk with Barack. He is a very thin man but you can feel the power he holds.
My friend Freddy now decides to leave me and go visit someone across the room. This immediatly puts a the fear of god in me because Barack is making his way to me and I honestly don't know what to say. I am not sure who I am voting for yet and the most I know of Barack is his stance on Health care and that he knows Oprah. I plead with Fred to not leave me and to protect me from possible embarrassment but Fed takes off. less than 10 min later Barack comes directly to me (I stand up).. he shakes my hand and asks me if I am a student. I told him I am a musician and he asks if I play in town. I tell him yes and I congratulate him on last nights win... He then tells me he wishes he had some time to listen to music but he is going to be "Kind Of Busy".. I agreed and we shook hands again and he asked for my vote.
Deep breath.. SAFE.. but not so fast.. the media descends on me asking what he said and who I am voting for..etc.. I find myself part of a documentary on his life being takin by a film maker who has been folowing Obama for years all over the world. Good Lord I am all of a sudden whipped into the world of Obama... and I was going to go to the gym.
Barack got an Earl Grey tea and a banana walnut bread.. I saw him give the bread to someone sitting behind him in his SUV(sorry Ralph).. ok thats it.. happy Friday ak
