Hey Everyone, we're so happy to announce that we've got a new song in
store for you all. Over the past 2 years or so there's been a song in
our set that we lovingly entitled "Get Up Get Down". However, despite
our eagerness to perform this tune to live audiences it never quite
made it to the recording process. As of late, we decided to make it
happen and get it to you because we know a lot of you have been
awaiting it for a long time now. Over the past 2 months we took the
time in between playing shows, writing new material, our day-to-day
jobs, and drunken masquerades to lay down the tracks and finish it up
in time for the summer. So here is our gift to you all, check it out on
myspace and look for it on the Topshelf Records compilation this summer
at Warped Tour. Put on your dancing shoes!!! --The Boys Of UATA

We're doing two sets at the May 9th show in Greenfield. One will be full band, the other acoustic.
I love these types of shows cause we get to play a ton of old stuff too.
But we couldn't decide on a set list so we want to let you decide. We'll have 15 minutes or so and it's about 4 songs. Take a second and put down a reply with a song (UATA or Skeptics) and the ones with the most votes we'll play.
Deal?

What's up folks, Tony here. We've been couped up all winter writing new songs and now that it's sunny out we're hitting the road much more which means you may hear a new song or two if you come on out.
As for shows...
We've got a very cool all ages show going down
Sunday April 26th at The Waterfront Tavern in Holyoke, MA
It's cool cause it's all ages and that never happens in W. Mass, plus there are some pretty sweet bands on the show like the Swellers and This Time Next Year. If you get a chance, pop those two bands in your google toolbar.
We've got discounted tickets so hit us up and we'll drive out to see you.
Oh yea and for you Bostonians...We're rocking out at The Middle East club on May 2nd and it's all ages! w/ HAMILTON, TRANSIT, ABOVE NOTHING, NOTHING TO NO ONE
Oh yea and we finally decided on a new shirt design. We're doing a limited pressing. When we finally decide on the colors I'll make sure to get up a picture.
Got any good summer plans? Let us hear em'!
See you at a show soon?

WHOA! We had an awesome time on our mini tour! Thank you to everyone who came out and made it such a good time. We hope to be seeing you all again in January and February.
Here it is the recap in exactly 313 words.
Thursday we rocked out Maximum Capacity and drank jumbo beers! it was fun, it was dirty. Friday we drove down to Providence, RI and rocked out at Lupos! It was so cool playing on the same stage where we saw New Found Glory and Four Year Strong play only four weeks ago! Then we all went back to Penrose's house and again, drank beer, sang songs, and had a great time. There are some amazing bands and people coming out of RI. Saturday we got up way too early and went to a really cool place called Chelo's. We drank Bloody Mary's, ate some food, then hit the road to NH. We were doing a Best Buy instore performance and rocked that place! (there were like 5 people who watched us). But we then headed over to Derry and got to play an awesome show with our friends in Permanent Holiday. It was a great show and the kids danced and sang. We got to watch our friends in And Then There Were None rock to their home crowd which is such a fun time. After the show we packed up and headed over to Permanent Holiday's house for...you guessed it! More drinking. We played a damn good game of Landmine and I do have to say we lost the game to Permament Holiday even though we tought them how to play (there will be a re-match on the next mini tour). Ok so at this point we have done 4 shows in three days. we are tried, we smell, and we are probably still drunk. But wait! We have another show to play! Sunday we hit the road to Boston and got to play with some really great bands including Punchline. It was really cool to play with a band that I have grown up listening to. The fans and friends we saw and met that night were fantastic and it was a great way to end the mini tour. This was one of the best times we have had as Us Against The Archers. We can't wait to see everyone again, very soon.
I also want to give some props out to our friends in the following bands for making this a special mini tour:
Our mini tour partners: Penrose And Then There Were None (who just signed to Tooth & Nail)
Our landmine buddies: Permanent Holiday
And the rest of the bands that made this mini tour amazing: Foredoes Me Quite The Coming Weak (Tim hope your ankle is better soon!) Action on the Radio Punchline The Years Gone By Let's Get It
All of these bands have myspace profile's. Please check them out.
OH YEAH! We did a contest to promote the shows! Thank you to everyone who entered and helped us. Rob (our guitar player) was named the MVP on the tour (cause he did some pretty amazing things) and so he got to choose the winner. He picked number 11. So congrats to Jake from Turned Falls, MA You win a prize pack including:
UATA Shirt, And Then There Were None Shirt, Penrose cd, and a bunch more!
There will be more mini tours and more contests. Make sure to stop by www.UsAgainstTheArchers.com often for more contests, including one starting in December!
Last but not least I want to let you all in on a few cool things:

Hey everybody! Just wanted to let you all know about the upcoming November outing we're doing: 4 dates across the New England area starting Nov. 13th that are gonna be fantastic, with a ton of amazing bands. Our time on the road is so limited these days, and we wish we could stay out longer but you know how it goes these days with job restrictions and becoming old farts! Thats why we make a point to do concentrated show dates where we don't have to come home. This time around we were thinking we'd have to use our seperate cars to travel since the Topshelf van bit the dust over the summer on warped tour (R.I.P.)!! However, due to the extreme generosity of a good friend of ours, Joe Rogers of the band Bear Teeth, we get to roll in style with a 15 passenger van just like the good old days. Among many of the awesome bands we'll be playing with are "And Then There Were None", Penrose, Permanent Holiday, Avely, Action On The Radio, Hollywood Lies, Venitian Fair, The Years Gone By, Let's Get It, and of course, Punchline!! We're looking forward to partying it up with the boys in Permanent Holiday and Penrose!!! Maybe we should get 3 kegs this time?! UATA is seriously looking forward to the trip and we hope you all are too. We hope to see you at the shows and maybe even the afterparties!! Til then, be cool like Dr. Steve Brule!! --Rob

I'm so excited to be writing this blog. Today we finally have our new cd hitting stores AND we have a brand new music video to show as well. Let me just say, DAMN it feels good to finally have our own cd! We are finally exactly where we want to be with this band. First…the cd. Creating Our Universe is a collection of five songs that really reflect on the time right as our old band The Skeptics (R.I.P) was ending, our struggles between real life and band life, and then the happiness we have found with Us Against The Archers. We've put a lot of time and energy into these songs and we hope you enjoy the cd. The artwork was done by Seth's brother Scott. You can get in touch with him at scottdecoteau@fusemail.com He did an amazing job and continues to produce top notch graphics for us. I was blown away when I saw the artwork. We have the entire cd up for listening right now. It goes away on Friday so get your listens in now. .. AANNNNDDD we have two awesome CD Release shows coming up. Click to Order your ticket! If you can't make it out to the CD Release shows you can pick up the cd at these fine locations: Topshelf Records WebstoreItunes Music StoreOr at Newbury Comics (select locations). Amherst, Ma Providence, RI Newbury Street, Boston Harvard Square, Boston Natick, Ma Now…to the video! We decided we wanted to do a video for "For Those of Us Who Still Dream". We finally came up with a concept for the video near the beginning of July. For some reason it took us forever to come up with an idea. (Probably cause we were brain dead after recording). The basic premise of the song is this: After our old band ended, so many people told us it's time to get into a real job and stop the band. We didn't want that. We still dreamed, we still created, and will continue to push on. So the video touches on our mundane lives away from music and the inner need to escape and create. From here we contacted our good friend Ryan Morrison (Rymo from here on) and he has a great company called Rough Cut Boston and helped to put our ideas to film. We shot the video over the course of two weekends out in Lynn, MA and it was really a fun time. The real magic happened when Rymo and his company partner Phil did all the editing. We couldn't be happier with the way things came out and I know that this is the tip of the iceberg for what Rough Cut Boston can do. You can view the new video on our profile. HERE IS A CALL TO ALL OF YOU: Spread this music and video everywhere you can. Anywhere you can post music or videos please post it. We are trying to get this music and video in front of as many people as possible. BUT we are only four guys (four sometimes smelly and unshaven guys) and you are amazing people who have amazing friends. Any help you can give means the world to us. And we've got your back! We will continue to play as many shows near you, give out free stuff, and stay in touch with you. You, the friends and fans of UATA mean so much to us. We love hearing from you. Please stop by and say hi. Tell us your stories. Send us your photos (band or not it doesn't matter). Send us your art! We want to make friends first and if you happen to like our music well that's cool too. Ok I'm done ranting. We hope you enjoy the new cd and video. We look forward to hearing from and seeing all of you very soon. Tony and the rest of the UATA boys

Well another month has past us quickly and we are one month closer to releasing our new cd! The good news is that it's all done. All the tracking, all the mixing, mastering, cd layout, everything. What's up guys and gals- We have been working hard on this album and I wanted to let you in on some exciting news! The new 5 song cd is going to be called: Creating Our Universe The tracks on the new cd are going to be: For Those Of Us Who Still Dream The Hands Escape This! The Greatest Lie Ever Told The Weight of The World Some of these songs you may know. We re-did them added a few things, took a few things out, but all in all we are very proud to get it out to you. So when do you get to hear it?; you may ask. Good question. We will be putting the cd out on August 19th. You will be able to get it online and through a bunch of record stores. Oh yeah! We are putting this cd out on a record label. Our good friends in Topshelf Records have decided to work with us to put out Creating Our Universe. We couldn't be happier to work with people who support local and independent music. These guys have been our friends for a long time so it's actually really cool to be putting out a CD with them. Take a second and check out the other bands they have: www.topshelf-records.com So basically that's all the info for the cd. We're going to be doing a bunch of shows right as it comes out. Hopefully we'll be able to rock some of the new material for the close peeps. I wish we could get all the way to our Cali friends. We do miss you and really everyone outside of the New England area we miss you too. Some of you may have been friends of ours since The Skeptics. You're awesome for sticking with us. Our dreams our to put this CD out, sell a bunch of cds then quit our crappy day jobs to come rock out for you. Speaking of The Skeptics (man this blog is all over the place). The CD is again called Creating Our Universe. It's basically about my time in between The Skeptics and Us Against The Archers. It's about the pressure and worry of not knowing which path to take in life: Play in a band and take a risk or work a safe full time job the rest of your life. One of the songs really get's into what happened in The Skeptics and the reason we broke up. Some of the songs touch on the times, while I was away from music, that i then was able to spend with my friends (and realize how much i had missed them). I'd say it's probably one of the most person albums I've written lyrically. I think everyone else in the band did an awesome job on the cd. I'm glad we don't have any band drama (knock on wood). Well we hope you like the cd. It will be out in August. We'll be posting a bunch of videos, new merch, new music, cd artwork, pictures, you name it, we'll post it. Meanwhile, we want to know what you're up to! When you message us, we write back. So tell us what you're up to this summer. What bands you've been checking out. Keep in touch. We want friends over fans. Take care Tony Us Against The Archers
