And I think it's mostly because MySpace kind of sucks. But this is your faithful singer/bass dude Brian writing to say hello to any MySpacers who still follow the band and what we're up to.
I feel the story of the past couple of years hasn't been told, so I figure I would tell it.
First, and most importantly, we've had a change in personnel in the band - Rob Wade got a good job in Dallas and had to leave us back in May of 2008. We made a change that didn't work out (even though this person was pretty awesome, we felt like we needed someone who sang and could be a little more focused on our band - we thank her for all her work once again), and then we went with Greg Gonyea, who brought a new handed-ness to the band (he's a lefty drummer), and a new enthusiasm for the group that really helped Ned and I out of the funk we were in from Rob's departure.
Since Rob joined the band back in 2007, we've made a lot of adjustment to our song list, focusing the band more in an 80s direction, but still kind of dabbling in everything except blues and country (there are a lot of bands out there who can do that better than we could). Ned put together a great light show, complete with a back truss and complete lighting schemes for different songs. Unfortunately, many places we play don't really have room for the big light show, but we still keep it fun with the scaled-back version.
We're so thankful to all the clients we've worked with over the past year - it's been a great year for the band, and we have you to thank. We also have to thank all the cool people who have been to our shows all over eastern and central Texas, from San Antonio to Houston to Killeen - you guys truly rock.
Going forward, we're also working on some special surprises that will make the band sound even better and also shake it up a little. We think you'll really like the results.
So to all the venues who hire us regularly, to all the people who hire us for private parties, to all the folks who still come see us after all this time, and to new fans who give a lot more than we ever expect (T) - thank you all so much!
This version of the band has a busy summer coming, and we hope to see you out at the shows!
Peace to all, and see you down the road (even if it's just I-35 or Mopac)... Brian

Ned: Last night we got to play the big stage at Stubbs and I'm still juiced about it. Don't know how many big acts I've seen on that stage and our little 3 piece cover band got to play on that same stage. Huge PA, full light rig and best of all a huge crowd that was just fun to play for. These folks sang and danced all night.
Did I mention Joe Ely opened for us? :)
Pics loaded in the Stubbs folder.
Brian: Yeah, Joe opened for us for a completely different audience an hour before we started...funny. I was just excited to get back on a big stage (because it was a surprise, too - we thought we'd be inside) and have some room to be my spazzy self. Thanks to all the crew who helped us out, the staff at Stubbs who were awesome, and especially our clients for hiring us and giving us the opportunity to play in that environment - and for being an incredible audience. What a great gig!

Brian here- All I can say is...you people rock. Thanks for another incredibly fun night - special shouts to our MySpace friends who came out and rocked out, and to the staff who always kept us hydrated. The Duckhorn Tavern in Killeen is always worth the trip. Plus, you have a Krystal right around the corner, which is the ultimate in post-gig steamy deliciousness.
Much love...

Thought I would let everyone know about the new songs we added last night. Three of the songs are for those of you into the 80's pop thing: Loverboy's Working for the Weekend, The Cure's Just Like Heaven and Heart & Soul by Huey Lewis and The News.
And for those of you who enjoy a little 420 Weezer's Hash Pipe will now be featured as well. We've also been playing Possum Kingdom by The Toadies since August so make sure you head out to Carlos 'n Charlies on Friday 9/28 to hear these new tunes.

This is Brian posting...I just wanted to say hey to all you awesome Roman Holiday friends and share a few things.
First, I'm sure you've noticed how the lineup has changed a little this year. Okay, it changed a lot. First Casey left us in February, and we got Mike, and then Mike got a great job that requires a lot of travel, so he had to leave the band at the end of July. Casey's been filling in and will be with us this Saturday (8/11) at the Light Bar. Patrick quit back in May, leaving me with a lot more work, since I took over lead vocals (and being the ham I am, I'm loving it).
We'd like to welcome our new drummer, Rob Wade (www.robstarmusic.com), who is an incredible, accomplished drummer and multi-instrumentalist. He's going to bring a groove to the band you've not yet heard, so make sure you see us at our public "Coming Out" party at Carlos and Charlie's on September 28th (unless we get another public gig sooner than that).
You'll see a few changes to the sets and lots of really fun, new music that doesn't stray too far from the fun rocking party band you've come to love, but it gives us a lot more variety and a lot more reason to inspire you to "drop your pants and dance".
Thanks for bearing with us through all this - come out to the Light Bar for some vintage RH goodness (especially if we can get Patrick to come out).
I leave you with this (which made me smile more than anything...):
"The other band that has rocked my world is Roman Holiday (http://www.romanholidayband.com/). They stepped in when The Recliners had to cancel out on a reception I was hosting for a conference last week. Roman Holiday is a three piece with one of the most amazing bass players I've seen on stage in a long time. He plays like John Taylor and sings like... well, whoeverthehell he wants to. They do AC/DC, The Beastie Boys, Smash Mouth, The Ramones... well the song list is on the web site. AND they'll be adding Duran Duran soon! Woot! They are playing on Saturday at 10pm at The Light Bar, which is located across the street from the Frost Bank Building at 4th and Congress. Their regular drummer had to drop out due to work but the sit in (a chic drummer and she's hot!) is really great and if they hadn't told me I would not have known they hadn't rehearsed."

This was posted on a bulletin and thought it would be good to share with everyone. Some feedback about our 11/18 gig at Bourbon Rocks.
"I have to tell all of you guys that I havent been to BR in like a month. I have been hangin out around Taylor, playing pool at my house with friends, and checkin out a few of the Austin Bands in random locations in North Austin. Well, I decided to go to BR for a lil bit on Saturday to check out this band called Roman Holiday. I read there myspace page & decided that it would be worth checkin out... okay, okay... I did wanna see all of my friends at BR. (Pedro, Demetrius, Tink, Mike, Robert, Art... luv u guys) Anyway.... I must tell you that This band is fabulous. It's not for some of my more mellow friends, sorry, Nat. However, you have gotta check them out. These guys are definatly among my favorites. They rank towards the top with Social Club and Jawbreaker!! You can see their myspace page, I put them on my friends list on the bottom. They are playing at BR again on dec 9th & I think that you should all go check out the show. I will be there of course (someone has to hold down the pole.. lol, j/k). They go on at 9:30pm, so hope to see ya "
