feeding time by chris hardy 8-7-09
hours after lunch and you've had no drama since your heart begins its rumbling, no need to convince
the chaos has all dried up, you're losing all your crop and you wish that all this peace and quiet would just stop
chorus: then it's feeding time it's feeding time again then it's feeding time lord, bless this meal amen
to prepare a meal like this it takes a very experienced cook it's how you phrase the question and how you bait the hook
so when the fists fly and the words are thrown your aching hunger is no longer postponed
between the threats and lies that you exert you got to save you some room for dessert

utopia burning by chris hardy 8-21-09
he is troubled by the way the system works and in doing so he has reveals its true state asked point blank if he is working shady deals he directs attention away from the debate
utopia utopia burning tides are turning utopia burning
as the people are fixed on the center ring they watch performers do the daring feats while the money gets counted and stuffed away in political pants that tend to lose receipts
you can listen to the dance, watch the song that they're singing while walking the tightrope the words are many but very disconnected to the skis on the slippery slope

the zombies are here by chris hardy 8/16/09
shut the windows, lock the door the walking dead have declared war
watch the people at the mall they walk among us down the hall
chorus: the zombies are here and the ignorance reigns they're looking for you and your tasty brains
electronically amused yet in reality so confused
oh, not a clue about what goes on in the world, not a hint to draw upon if you value your independent mind you'll follow leaders that are not blind
zombies aren't here to dispute their mission is only to recruit

system limitations by chris hardy 8-7-09
it's a big fish in a small pond a big elephant in a small room so obvious you can't see it but it's presence you can safely assume
i am the eyes and ears of this place i know what goes on in this space i don't even need communications to know the system limitations
invisible to the nosiest of noses things look different from under the radar so you just keep putting your face among the hall of MENSA superstars

time in a cup by chris hardy 8-21-09
chorus: i'm stirring up time in a cup i'm stirring up time in a cup
can't just leave it the way it is when it can be blended inside so chop up your schedule now as appointments & chores collide
whatever you planned for today just mash it up with everything else salvador dali's eyes light up when the hours and minutes melt
quality time is now redefined since it all occurs in one punt no need to hire a professional when now you can do your own stunts
i'll take a drink and be dizzy i'll take a drink and be dizzy

shuto by chris hardy 8-21-09
carving molecules at top speed does the act itself fit the need the bullet train is growing wings on its way to do terrible things
it's not whether you win or lose it's how deep in the flesh is the bruise edge of the hand, an eye for an eye demand is far less than the supply
chorus: and the shuto saves the day sending thugs and rogues away and the shuto saves the day turning the predator into the prey
when your punch bowl is empty and you kick in to survival mode you use whatever's in the toolbox when it's time for you to unload

lord of the cats by chris hardy 8-21-09
he had a personality that wasn't like the rest picked on back in school as you would have guessed
and the fallout of emotion created a void quite large he longed to be important and to be the one in charge
chorus: thus he did proclaim hereafter he became lord of the cats lord of the cats
they gather in a circle to share in his wise ways and of course a meal or two before the hungry cats' gaze
even though he wields no excalibur he still can rule his land of fur and claws with a waving of his hand and the crinkle of a bag there is much feline applause

crackle in stereo by chris hardy 8-24-09
crackle in stereo flush out the canal the oxygen cocktail is everyone's pal with the exception of some micro germs inhabiting the head but only short term
crackle in stereo effervescent sounds my favorite song when the cold's around the welcome sensation of tingling in the brain give it an hour or two to dissolve the pain
and nobody knows it and nobody knows it and nobody knows it and nobody knows it
crackle in stereo hidden from all sight invisible bubbling like a creek in the night washing down the walls where the reptiles paint graffiti in the skull when there's a complaint

my acoustic duo 3 feet up is going through a bit of an experiment. or a midlife crisis! see, i've gone and put away the acoustic guitar until i feel the need to use it again.
in it's place will be a few items:
one is my trusty ol' 1986 made in Japan squier telecaster along with various pedals (including yes, distortion).
i'm also playing a handful of songs on the trusty ol' steinberger bass from my nervous boy & sylvia's advice & deadbolts days. this time it's strung up with piccolo bass strings and it's HOT!
i'm also playing a couple songs on my crappy-yet-somehow-very-playable squier vintage modified fretless jazz bass. i got an unbelievable deal on it (i do work for guitar center, but not AT a guitar center), so until i find another smokin' deal on a used steinberger fretless, this'll do.
speaking of smokin' deals, i have now on layaway a used steinberger XL2 - it's fretted, but the price was so low i couldn't NOT buy it! that'll be joining us in a few weeks. i think by finding such a deal, it was God's way of smacking me upside the head and saying "boy, put that stupid guitar away - you're a bass player! they named an award for you in Augusta - start playing some damn bass again, you idiot!" and behold, another steinberger was brought forth from the heavens. weird.
