Shiney’s stars are not shining as much these days, not at all I would say. But as you sow, so shall you reap, doesn’t it?
According to newspaper reports and news channels he admitted to having done what he did, but later denied, thereby trying to sort some last minute sympathies. But does this strategy really work? I don’t think so. Even if he agreed to have exploited his domestic help, he says it was with her consent. If it was with her consent, then why would the domestic help approach the police? Everything is a riddle now, but it brings us closer to the state of domestic workers who work in an unorganized sector to become vulnerable to heinous instances like these as even robbery etc.
Time and again we have come across crimes like these that occur with the domestic workers. A whooping majority of these women have no sense and the courage to handle police cases, because of which they shy away form registering a complaint. As a result, most ‘masters’ in this ‘master-servant’ relationship are let gone scot free. Even if nothing has been proven in this case as yet, yet we cannot completely deny any clandestine motive that a domestic help may have. Practically, a victim in such a case is associated with a social stigma, which I’m sure is very difficult to live with, considering the fact that the victim tried to jump in a water tank to kill herself after the act. There could possibly be no other intention, apart form hoping to get settled with a huge amount out of court, or defame the celebrity for whatever reason. But such a case would be very rare, so that brings us back to the celebrity.
Any not-so-clean-in-the-head (without referring to anyone in particular) celebrity would know that he could easily get a clean chit due to his public status. But if he is intelligent enough he should also know that being constantly under the microscope, he could easily be defamed leading to a lifetime of public hatred and hence no work, which he definitely wouldn’t want. But he should also know that a mere small time domestic worker would anyway keep mum while he would keep getting away each time. But this time it backfired. If proven guilty he definitely should be punished. Also something has to be done about the state of domestic workers who time and again have been facing evils like these, but refuse to come out and speak for the fear of losing their bread and butter.
Don’t know who’s at fault this time, but it brings us all to the question that do public figures take their public image for granted and indulge in acts like these? Do they all have a different image than what we see on TV?

'The World Health Organization declared a swine flu pandemic on Thursday, raising its alert to the maximum level six indicating the first influenza pandemic since 1968 is under way. “Phase 6, if we call a phase 6, doesn’t mean anything concerning severity, it is concerning geographic spread …,” WHO spokesman Gregory Hartl said. A pandemic could cause enormous disruption to business as workers stay home because they are sick or to look after family members and authorities restrict gatherings of large numbers of people or movement of people or goods. Spread of this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is thought to be happening in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. A Breather: new drug made by GlaxosmithKline The new strain can be treated by antiviral drugs oseltamivir, the generic name of Roche Holding’s Tamiflu tablets, and Relenza, a spray made by GlaxoSmithKline. The strain, which emerged in April in Mexico and the United States, has spread widely in nations including Australia, Britain, Chile and Japan. Countries you should avoid traveling to: Mexico, US, Canada, New Zealnad, Hong Kong and France! In view of the alarming spread of swine flu from Mexico to other regions like New Zealand, US, Hong Kong, Canada etc the Indian Govt has asked Indians to be cautious while travelling to these places. Travellers flying into India from Mexico, US, Canada, New Zealand and France will be individually checked for flu. Hospitals in cosmopolitan cities are being equipped with quarantine facilities. Some precautionary habits that should be instilled in us now: First and most important: wash your hands. Try to stay in good general health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. Try not touch surfaces that may be contaminated with the flu virus. Avoid close contact with people who are sick. Since there is no vaccine available right now to protect against swine flu. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza. If on a Plane: Should you wear a mask? Not necessary. The air on a plane is filtered. Transmission might occur if someone sitting close to you coughs or sneezes on you. The newer designs of aircraft airflow keep the air in a top-down flow, not forced air from front to back. However, if you do have a respiratory illness, it might be best not to travel. Breathe Easy: You can eat Pork! Swine influenza viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.

It's now Movies. Masti. Magic times! The two-month-long standoff between producers and multiplex owners over revenue sharing has finally ended following weeks of close door deliberations between the two parties.
