HEY!!

It's been a long time, and DAMN it feels good to be back!

We've been so busy with things so let us bring you up to date:
-Mike Conway is no longer playing guitar with us. There aren't any hard feelings and he left on good terms. He will still be writing songs with Shawn for Strahan (which can be found on our top friends) so keep an eye/ear out for that. Mike is still a great friend and an amazing musician, so this is not the last you'll hear of him.

-That being said, we are proud to announce that Drew Valera will be taking his place. Drew is one of the 5 original members that started Dakota in 2004, when Shawn was just on vocals (olldd schooooll). Drew has been recruited from the recently disbanded Astrea. We feel he is the only other person we could see in this band, and we're quite pleased to have him aboard.

-In approximately one month, we will return to the studio to record a 6 or 7 song EP with none other than the Dear Hunter himself, Casey Crescenzo. We will have songs up on our Myspace and Purevolume profiles by the end of next month.

-From here on out, we're going show crazy. Bands.. promoters... friends of both... let's do it. We want to come play our songs for you and hang so HOLLAAA. Shoot us a message and we'll come make you sweat an astonishing amount!

We're very pumped to be jumping back into this full force and we appreciate everyone for sticking around and still supporting us.
We miss and love you!

To everyone that came to the show in Whitman last night, and stuck it out when it got moved to Hanover - we raise our glass to you. We've rarely felt that level of love at a show between everybody - the kids that came, the parents that helped, and between the bands. There's a lot of bullshit and politik involved in this music thing, and it's refreshing to stumble on a group of kids that are genuinely there to hear music.

hey there. wow thats huge..
yea? yea.. thats better.
    We spent the day at Casey's yesterday, Monday February 19, 2007. President's Day... I'm pretty sure at least. Somewhere between rude slander and toilet humor, we got some things done. You guys might know Casey. Casey = The Dear Hunter, or at least part of it. He produces our records, he engineers them, he records them. He sits in his ivory tower and throws blunt objects at us, never sharp objects. Never a punture wound... ever. OOOOOOOHhh I've been wanderin' round, still come back to you. In rain or shine you stood by me girl. I'm happy at home. You're my best frieeend.
    Some info on the record. We're really excited about it. Since our efforts on "Perhaps on the Highway," we've played a lot of shows, and lived a lot of life. This record is not a story, this record is our lives. We're happy with it, but we're nervous. We hope you'll love it like we do. You've heard some of the songs before.. "Sleep Sound," and "Treats" have been staples in our set for quite some time now. You might recognize Treats as the one that goes  BA DA DA DA DUN chic chic chic DUN DUN DUN chic dhic DUN DUN DUN... BA DA DA DA DUN! Ohhhh, that one! Nice! Anyways, some more titles:
"On the First," "The Spider," "Before They Can Find Me." You get the idea. Hope to see you guys at a show soon. Everyone check out The Dear Hunter on their upcoming tour with Saves the Day. That's probably the best tour I've ever heard of.
    Note: We have some pals with big news approaching. The Cadence will be attacking their new record very soon, so keep an eye out and take a listen to the 2 songs they have posted nowish. Francine... is also nearing the completion of their new record, which is already sounding amazing from what we've heard in this here cyber space. Lastly, Morris! is playing their last show, and although very sad, it'd be awesome if everyone came and showed them the love they deserve.
