This is rather annoying to me but... I got this Northeast Metro 916 "Exit Survey" because I dropped out of this program but this got me thinking of the biggest reason why I dropped out. It was because of the school districts in Minnesota all seemed to agree on one thing which was to make all the students they considered "special" "help" make the schools "better". By "help" it would seem like something good, but it isn't in this case. The government has made many of those students into janitors, hall monitors, and such. Though they are not given cleaning material such as a mop or etc. but if they did, it would make it obvious. They can get away with it because those students enjoy doing such stuff, to be given a task thinking that they would be useful! It is human nature to be wanted and to be seen as “helpful”.

Many (I should say all) of those students do not understand that the government cannot do such a thing and that school is a place for education not slavery! Those students also cannot grasp the understanding that there are people paid to clean, monitor, and etc. and that it is not their job to go to school only to serve the school’s needs.

The government has also seemed to agree to force those students into programs leading to a job right after high school, vocational school (which is what Northeast Metro 916 was). When I attended this program, I was shock to see that it wasn't only my school district that was forcing classes; this was being done by many school districts! (Suggesting that other high schools did the same as Tartan High School, though I am not too sure if they do since I only attend Tartan and not the other high schools)

The government has taken advantage of students because they know that those students will never reject tasks or resist against them! Even if they do resist, the one administrating the student may try to convince the student to do whatever task they want them to do since it is the administrator that the student communicates to and trusts the most.

The government's job is to help the people, not to control their will (unless they have committed a crime).

The government has crossed the line and has abused their power, and I believe that it is time to stop them because if they are not stopped, they will abuse their powers even more and worst, upon many more students.

Though I cannot provide any evidence that they made such a decision as one, I can prove this with evidence of these students performing tasks unrelated to education and many of these students with “special needs” attending vocational schools being discouraged to attend college or dream of any jobs requiring higher education.

Is this the point where our society starts to categorize people of their intelligence and not their ability?

Just thinking about this makes me sad to see how these students are being given these tasks and yet they are happy about it… Their happiness stops many other students from stopping this decision by our government.
