Check out latest Proudflesh interview in Rock Vault, but its in Turkish for all English readers out there!

http://www.rock-vault.com/

Fourtunately here's the rough English version:
Interviewed by- Ozgur/Rock Vault

Hi guys! Thanks for doing the interview! How is San Francisco, California today?

Q:According to your website Proudflesh was formed in late 1980. How did you both get together? Have you been playing in other projects before already?
A: Officialy when our first record was released in July 1988,
got put off for a few years but never really stopped.

Q: Who came up with the band's name and was there a deeper meaning in it for you?
A: Completely by accident , I was flipping through the dictionary with my friend Richard Carse
(Rip) and it sounded good! Not very exciting, laugh.

Q: Did you have some member changes at the beginning of the band?
A: Proudflesh has always been a work in progress with myself & Jimmy mostly. Many, many drummers!

Q: When did you complete your line up?
A: Still working on it unfortunately but a good reason to stay a 3 piece!

Q: Before your debut came out in 2006 I never heard of you in any way, so did you never do any self promotion in zines or anything?
A: Its been DIY and we've been terrible at self promotion!

Q: What about the lyrical side of the songs? Feel free to comment on a couple of the most important lyrics on the album...
A: Without being trite , I feel all the songs are important and I'd like to have the listeners determine that. But if I have to,
My Lai my love is a song of love lost ,French Indo china 1954 is a cautionary tale or even history lesson.

Q; If you had to describe your music to someone from space who had never heard it before, how would you do it?
A: Lots of gesturing and facial expressions!

Q: Michael Amott loves your music and we know that Sepultura, A Perfect Circle and many bands are playing Sothira's songs. What do you binding your success?
A: We are real , believe in integrity and not apologetic plus I like to think the music is good too! Special shout out to M.A. thanks for the support & inspiration!See ya on the 29th Slim's in SF!

Q; Would you tell us a little bit about the concerts you did (crowds, ambience, tricks etc.)?
A: Loud fast, gets a bit hot onstage , smoke machines, beer brought up to the stage, good fun and look for after hour party!

Q; To writing songs, recording them or playing them live? What do you prefer?
A: Obviously two different animals, live is totally enjoyable but in the studio is much more rewarding.

Q; How would you compare first album to your upcoming album?
A: We havent changed much so don't think the second album will either. Just more good and solid.

Q; Are you happy about the cooperation with Wired Gnome Records?
A: WGR is our DIY label. Everything take a very long time!

Q: Some listeners are saying your music is Motorhead meets Discharge. Do you agree?
A: The listeners are only stating the obvious. Lets say we like to drive the same kind of truck!

Q : What are your all time favorite punk rock albums and which newer bands to you consider worth being checked out?
A: I know its boring to say but Sex Pistols/Never mind the...,of course, Motorhead s/t! You're talking of at least 30 years of music! Too many!
New bands? Most of them don't stick around long enough!

Q: Your website does not offer much information, nor pictures... Do you prefer to keep it as basic as possible?
A: Yes, its good not to say or give out too much.

Q; The internet must be a big help for a band like yours that doesn't get a lot of radio play. What are your feelings towards new technology, file sharing and so on?
A: Its been a big help , but its what you do with what you got & how you do it,that's important.

Q: What can we expect from Proudflesh in the future?
A: Hopefully find some real label support , of course more CDs & touring!

Q; This one is famous Rock Vault question! Please share us your craziest drunk memory.
A: I'd have to make up something coz I don't remember!

Q: What do you know about Turkey? Have you ever listen a Turkish band or singer? Do you think to play here?
A: Turkey is part of NATO, what was the Ottoman empire,
Galatasaray will be in the champions league for 08/09 sorry, no not much of Turkish bands and yes, we'd love to come and play in Turkey! Can you help us!
Thanks alot , cheers!

Proudflesh 2007 Year In Review

Following the release of our first full length album in 2006 we saw our first ever tour of Japan and Germany!
Beginning with Japan ,we flew directly into Osaka, a special shout out goes to Shin of Nightmare/Punk & Destroy Store/records in Osaka for putting it all together.
An achievement in itself considering,Proudflesh , were of an unknown quantity to the Japanese.
The spirit of the gentleman's agreement is alive and well and off we went!
"Sex Sell & War Is Hell" Japan March 2007 ,saw us playing to sold out crowd at Pipe69 in Osaka, Huckfinn in Nagoya & 2 show at the Earthdom in Tokyo.
A nice surprise and quite an experience which we would repeat again in a heartbeat! Definitely, looking forward to next time! Wish we could have stayed longer....

Upon returning home, Erik (Lannon) sadly informed us that he could not commit for Germany.
Henceforth, we were in search of a replacement .Craig of Ruffians suggested we try out their drummer, Luke "Shorthand" Bowman.
Without missing a step, Luke  stepped in and became an asset ,a class drummer!
In preparation , we managed to play a few gigs with some notable bands ,Conflict UK ,Verbal Abuse Sweet Machine DE.
At this time ,Sash of Dynamic Discord Agency in Berlin booked our tour with STROM! A great
pop punk band from Berlin with a renown love for the flying V & good times!
Now fast forward!

Germany started out in Göttingen, Juzi good fun, then to Hagen where everyone literally played & drank all night, Lokker you Rule! to Wurzburg at the Immerhin ,thanks Sam (Scheisse Minelli)& Thomas! To the Dome in Cologne & playing at Sonic Ballroom! After that was Clarholz where the owner gave us the key to close up!Next was OCC2 in Amsterdam, what can you say? Thanks, both Marcs of Vitamin X for the show & Tony BGK for putting us up. Then on back to Germany, straight to Dusseldorf where the president of Fortuna Dusseldorf's fan club brought Sothira a soccer scarf! We even picked up a passenger, "hi!" Barbara ! Then the penultimate gig in Magdeburg btw was east Germany. And finally, the best was saved for last . The White Trash in Berlin where we played & partied till 7 in the morning! Thank you White Trash!
To sum it all up , the tour went without a glitch with some of the best people we've ever had a chance to meet and play with . Deutschland liebe dich!
Germany, the land where beer is cheaper than water, just fantastic! Sadly, the tour was over & we had to leave... Fin.
Dont forget to check out the picture album!

For 2008 Proudflesh are working on their second full length album .
So watch out coz there's more exciting things to come!!!
