I updated the website to include a link to the new BDO blog on WordPress. Currently, I plan to use this blog and the source for any new updates about the website and the corporation. I will use the WordPress blog to educate and discuss financial matters. Check it out... http://beatingdebt.wordpress.com/

It has been a while since I have updated this blog on the status of BDO. Well, since we last talked we submitted the paperwork to the IRS for tax exempt status. We got a confirmation letter that they received our paperwork, but we are still waiting on the final answer; which they said could be another 90 days.
Well, in the meantime, I created a couple more pages for the site to market.
I started a new blog solely for BDO lessons through WordPress.
In addition, I created a BDO group on MySpace.
And finally, I joined Facebook with a new business page.
So, hopefully that get us a little more exposure.
Always looking for better ways to get people excited about commiting to beating debt.
-Eric

I updated the website with a new page. I added a "Contact Us" page. Just some preliminary info on the organization and ways to connect with the Board and staff. I will try to convince the Board to lend a small bio and picture for the site, so everyone can meet who is leading BDO.

I updated the website under the "Resources" tab with some new steps to becoming debt free. I encourage you to look it over and let me know what you think about the ideas. I am hoping these ideas will be the basis for the direction that BDO will lead its community. Check it out.

I updated the website to include a link to the Care2.com website. I created a personal profile and started a BeatingDebt.org group on their site to help introduce this cause to their community. Click here to go to the site.

I made some updates to the website. I tried to get more focused on the message rather than why the message needs to be told. I am very slowly learning about the attention span of the internet. It is hard for me, because there is so much I want to say, but it is tough to learn to be patient to say it. I will get better at it, I just need to keep reevaluating the work.

I reorganized the website. I added some new links. Add some good text that helps solidify the direction of the marketing I would like to go. I also added another page to separate the boring "About" stuff. That way, those that are seriously interested in the happenings of BDO can look there, but those that want a quick snap shot of what we do, can get that on the home page. I believe I did a better job in getting to the point and attracting the attention that is needed in the fast attention span of the Internet. What do you think?

The below link is another great article about being frugal. Frugal meaning avoiding waste. This article talks about one positive aspect of being frugal is so that you can give back more to the Lord. Cool idea, huh?

Did you get up early and shop on Black Friday? Was it worth it? Will you go again next year? What was the best deal you found?
