Finally: The TRUTH is OUT.

Summer 2007: San Francisco, California. Travis and Velvet were next door neighbors, living together in an industrial building along with other artists, musicians, and the ghost of Jim Morrison. Travis was just out of art school and singing in rock bands; Velvet was a techno producer and rave promoter. Many late nights were spent on the roof with a boombox and a bottle of sake, listening to classic Italo jams.

One night while Travis was out having sushi, Velvet was looking for something fun to do and produced a cliché-laden new-school Italo track. Travis was telephoned and asked to put down some vocals on "something", to which he said "OK!" This was the song SEXY SMOOTH, the genesis of what was to become EASYSTREET.

A couple months passed, when Velvet was asked to play live at a party. She was planning to play her techno music, but at the last minute the hostess asked, "Travis is going to be singing with you, right?" Despite only having one song, Travis and Velvet got to work and in less than a week had a whole set of new songs to perform. The band was dubbed EASYSTREET (though we cannot recall when, why, or who chose the name), and the first show was a huge success. And thus.... EASYSTREET WAS BORN.
