Summer's coming, our plans are mapped out, it's time to talk.
The recent shows in Australia & Singapore were fantastic, thanks to all of you in Australia, it was our best trip ever down under. 'Off With Their Heads' is still going strong in Aus, you helped the album reach a new peak of #2 during the trip, we appreciate it. You'll be stuck with 'Never Miss A Beat' a while over there, it's soundtracking the new AFL Season on TV.
What's next?
If our plans this Summer turn out as good as they sound, we'll enjoy it very much. We're touring with U2 in Europe & with Green Day in America. All dates are announced, and listed below: We also have a short run of Festivals from late June to end of August including Lowlands (Holland), Lollapalooza (USA), Arras (France) and shows as far afield as Tel Aviv, Portugal, Copenhagen, Istanbul and Tromso, Norway amongst others.
Cheers to those of you on the Isle of Man who bought tickets for our Reading/Leeds warm-up show there, the gig Sold Out in minutes, we've had reports of power surges & phone line chaos, apologies to anyone who missed out as a result of that. Its beyond our control, but we're flattered so many of you wanted tickets.
Kaiser Chiefs will stop for a while after our exclusive UK shows this Summer at Reading Festival (Aug 28th) & Leeds Festival (Aug 30th). It was always the masterplan to put a full stop on things back home at Leeds Festival, we're pleased it worked out that way.

On October 8th 2008, just prior to the release of 'Off With Their Heads', the band previewed new material in their hometown at the opening night of the new Leeds Academy.
Babelgum is the broadcaster of the official video of the gig, as well as individual cuts of a selection of the tracks.
They also interviewed the band about their music - and about how it felt to play back home in Leeds.
Check it out here on Bablegum

We've made it to LA, but unfortunately we're a man down. We didn't want to make a drama out of it so we kept this quiet until now. Peanut had to have an operation to remove his appendix on Thursday, so he's been in a hospital in Brazil for a few days. The operation was a success, he's ok, and managed to play with us at Planeta Terra in Brazil on Saturday night, but he's unable to fly to USA until Wednesday.
Our concert in LA and TV appearance on The Jay Leno Show will go ahead. We didn't want to let LA down and its going to be a challenge, but between Roger Lyons (Peanut's tech) and James Hennin (Simon's tech) we'll deputise and make sure the show goes on! It will be our first ever gig missing one of the band. Something unique for LA. Peanut will be back for Chicago Metro on Thursday.

The second single from "Off With Their Heads" is "Good Days Bad Days". Full release information to follow soon, we're hoping to have a collectors picture disc edition on Vinyl. We have two new versions of the track so far, we've been working on a single mix to light up the airwaves (we hope) with producer/mix engineer Lexxx (who's worked on things as diverse as Madonna, Black Kids, Crystal Castles). Calvin Harris has also done a brilliant Club Remix for us. We're really pleased with it. You'll like both. We're shooting the video to "Good Days Bad Days" next week in Sao Paolo with Alex Courtes, the man behind great videos like White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" and U2 "Elevation". We're excited to see how that turns out.
