Well...here it is...in all its raw, visceral glory. The long-awaited, much-anticipated, streaming version of the debut EP by Radio City. Nine months in the making, it's called Tonight's Not The Night. We hope you enjoy it. Please join us tomorrow night for the official release of the CD. Friday, October 23rd, at Beer:30. The address is 402 Merchant St, Emporia KS 66801.
Rocking with us on stage for the evening will be the always fantastic, always entertaining, crazily energetic, Antennas Up. The show will kick off around 10:00 or 10:30pm.
A note about the recording.
We began demoing these songs in Matt's basement in early January of this year. I had only been working with the band since the week of Christmas. Trial by fire no doubt. A few weeks later, we moved the drums into the gorgeously-renovated Beach Music Hall, at Emporia State University. With Jack and Matt at the controls, we laid down 10 tracks of drums in two days. A whirlwind session by any stretch.
By the following week we were back in Matt's basement, setting up guitar amps, bass amps, microphones, and a whole lot of piss-puke-and-beer-stained packing blankets. During the rest of the Spring the boys worked tirelessly on tracking instruments and vocals. Matt and Jack did a splendid job with engineering and mixing. Recording yourself while playing is really effin' hard. I'm very proud of these guys for how they did this, and happier than a clam to be playing music with them.
The wizard himself Michael Fossenkemper at Turtle Tone Studios in NYC mastered the recording.
Josh Finley of The Deedles, The DeWayn Brothers, and Loco Macheen fame did a freakin' AMAZING job with the artwork on the disk and on the jacket. The artwork alone is totally worth the purchase of the EP.
After much consideration, we decided to take the 4 best songs out of the 10 we recorded, and create an EP. But don't despair - the others will likely wind up on the full-length album slated for next year, reworked, and in top form.
If you are finding it difficult to make it out to Radio City shows, we'd be happy to mail you a copy of the EP. Just send us an email at RadioCityMusic@gmail.com with your name, address, yada yada. The price is $5 for the EP, plus a few bucks for shipping.
Thanks for stopping by.
Ryan

Well Peeps as you can see by our calendar we've got a show coming up @ Beer:30 July 25. The band we have accompanying the bill, Fairbanks, is for lack of better term, fucking awesome! Well worth checking out, mark it on your calendar, their sounds are innovative, tight, and relentlessly energetic, with that said, We'd love too see some faces in the crowd giving these cats the Emporia support they undoubtedly deserve.
The Album: the tracking is complete and it is officially in the mixing phase. We're working hard to get this thing released and can't express how excited we are for the quality of the tracking. As we've been saying for 8 months now... We'll keep you posted ;)
Michael Jackson is dead,
Jack
