Category: Life
Hello my amazing friends and family!!! I have been in the studio pouring my soul out and getting things wrapped up on our new album so I went a little longer than I wanted to. Soo..very sorry for those of you that were on the lookout for the blog.

The Weekly Inspirational has derived from all of you that have reached out to us and myself asking for friendship or advise or just strait up inspiration to move all of us closer to the dreams and aspirations that we all have. Life can present itself in so many shapes and forms and it's hard to decipher the truth and the strength to travel in the direction that we want to. There is so much to live for being that we were given the pleasure of living and experiencing...pretty much the best gift any of us could have ever received EVER.

Today the inspirational I want to share is about a man that has been disfigured since the age of 4 when a tumor grew next to his brain and has left him disfigured in a way that is beyond imaginable. He is now 31. He is at the prime age of life and has lived with this ailment and fought through. His desire to live is remarkable. He's scared to go anywhere and see the world because of people thinking he looks like a monster. His dream is to get in a car and travel and see the world with the windows having curtains over them. It's so very sad yet so very gorgeous and beautiful that he has chosen to move forward and fight for his dream just to be normal and live life.

So when you're feeling bad about that flat tire, or grade you received, or co-worker pissing you off, or the outfit that was gone when you went to get it, or a car cut you off, or whatever is going on. Remember how unimportant those things really are and remember your dream and fight for it just like this man....his fight...is to just LIVE!!!!

Hey everyone..you have all been so amazing to us and have shared your thoughts of inspiration from our music and more and I decided I wanted to do something a lil extra for you all. I'm going to do a weekly inspirational for all of you whom are feeling like maybe things aren't going your way, you don't feel your self worth or you simply feel hopeless. Maybe you feel good but need that extra kick to lead you in the direction you wish to follow. Either way it's something that I've been thinking about doing for a minute so I'm putting it into action. I'm going to be sharing quotes from those I'm inspired by and also my own lil words of wisdom from my journeys. ;)

Also...for those of you curious about how the recording is going...it's going great. We've been busy trying to get it all wrapped up and out to all of you so stay tuned. Just a lil while longer then party is on! :)

So here's the first and beginning of the weekly inspirational!

"Listen to Your Thoughts"

Listen carefully to your inner thoughts, no matter how small or insignificant you may judge them to be. Those tenacious thoughts that just won’t go away should be viewed by you as intention talking to you, saying, “You signed up to express your unique brilliance, so why do you keep ignoring it?”

A Few words from Chastity on Behalf of OUTLETT.....

First we want to start by saying thank you so much for all the amazing kind words and thoughts that you have shared in regards to our new single and video. The responses have been so overwhelming and we are truly humbled by it all in more ways than we can explain. We are currently in the works to bring you even more music and videos so stay tuned for all that to come and more.

We are truly blessed to be around the people that have helped make all of our success a reality. Toby!!! You're beyond loved and we are so proud to know that you have become family! You having faith in us helps us shine! Apey...you are amazing and beautiful in more ways than a million! You are family for life. You own our hearts!! Relentless Productions thank you so much...Ktee and Mark you have brought your passions to life through us and we are so thankful to you!! We love you! Greenman...you have always believed in us and continue to do so....we love you insanely!

And of course most importantly....thank you to all of our fans!!!! We would not be doing what we are doing if it weren't for all of you...we live and create through you and are constantly inspired because you believe in us and understand that we are expressing ourselves truthfully and whole heartedly! We are all about positive aggression and the unification of all that want to be a part of that. Our lives are far to short to be caught up in the blandness of negativity and hate. It's about picking yourself up, dusting yourself off and loving the things that you do because you can't help it. Not because it was force fed to you or because it is the cool thing to do. But simply because you can't help the fact that it makes you radiate and filled with raw emotion and excitement. Nobody can take that away from you. Nobody. Hold onto your passions and live them out loud. This world can be all that you want it to be if you choose to make it yours. Believe in yourself, believe in your dreams and manifest your desires...It's waiting for you and calling your name....So don't hesitate...take it!! It's YOURS!!

We love you all so much!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

Much Love & ROCK ALWAYS!!!

The LA-based hard rock band, Outlett, has officially started to explode. Especially, with the release of their latest music video for their single "Invincible". "Invincible," was originally made famous by the one and only Pat Benetar, but Outlett has definitely plugged in their own rocking version of this hit song. Directed and produced by Katheryne KTEE Thomas and Mark Larranga from Relentless Vision, "Invincible" shows that Outlett is a force to be reckoned with.

Real rock with real muscle is in store for those who brave the music of Outlett. This hard rock act boasts the ideal name, since its energetic music delivers to the listener a positive release for pent up aggression and for the artist it is the perfect mode of self-expression. In fact, Outlett's musical philosophy is simple. Says Outlett's Chastity of the band's music, it's "pure positive aggression."

Outlett has opened for such national acts as Motley Crüe and Aerosmith and toured with Powerman 5000. The group also gigged with the Warped Tour two years running. At Tom Morello's invitation, Chastity played her djembe with Alice In Chains and Cypress Hill at the CD release party for Morello's "The Nightwatchman." Outlett has been showered with numerous awards, including Rock Artist of The Year in the Los Angeles Music Awards. Unsigned Music Magazine awarded a best video prize and other publications have lauded the band, as well. The Independent Artist Registry declared Outlett one of the Best Unsigned bands in the nation. Music Connection Magazine also awarded Outlett, as one of the Hot 100 Best Unsigned Bands in the nation two years in a row. Outlett, also, nabbed a licensing deal with Ultrashort Media. Work is wrapping up on Outlet's new CD, which is due out in January 2009. Veteran producer Toby Wright (Metallica, Alice In Chains, Sevendust) is working with Outlett on their new CD, which is due out in January 2009. The band earned the opportunity to work with Wright out of 5000 bands by wining the Wyman Records "Record a Demo Contest." The group is currently working with A&R Select, the world's leading artist development firm, based out of Los Angeles.

"Outlett isn't just a promising indie band. With this group, the promise is fulfilled. The hard rock fan's cup overfloweth." - A&R Select

Hey everyone!! As you all know we were soo stoked to win the Wyman Records contest which won us the opportunity to bring you new music and lots lots more. We not only had the opportunity to record at a great studio but OUTLETT has also gained the great honor of aquiring the great Producer Toby Wright (Metallica, Alice In Chains, Taproot, Sevendust) to join our family. He not only produced our new single but there is much much more to come with him and us including a brand new music video!!!! This has come as a great blessing and is everything that we have been waiting for and more. Toby brings everything into this band that we have always wanted. Passion, drive, honesty and the sound that is OUTLETT.

With that being said we'd like to also share with you that we have added two new members to OUTLETT. One being a new drummer by the name of Brian Scott. Brian brings an edge to the band that we have so longed for. His incredible pocket groove and technique is one that is truly breathtaking. We couldn't be happier.

We also decided to take our sound to the next level by adding a 2nd Guitarist. As you all know... Hos is the man....however, we wanted to be able to share all that we do on the record regarding harmonies and solos which required an extra hand.... in that we present to you Joey Sanchez. Joey is also a brother and long time friend and his incredible precision, passion, artistry and sound is all that we hoped for and more....We are beyond stoked and can't wait to share it with you all that we love soo much!!!

So stay tuned as the new single and the new video drops along with extensive touring, giveaways, and much much more....Hope you all are ready because 2009 is going to be the year of OUTLETT and we're taking all of you with us!!!

We love all of you for being patient and awaiting what we have so freakishly been working our butts off on....We love you soo much more than words can describe. We are truly blessed to have all of you give the support and passion that you give. We couldn't ask for more. We have the BEST fans EVER!!!!!!!!!!!

Much Love, Rock & Respect Always!

FROM: The Nightwatchman Tom Morello (Axis Of Justice Tour)

Shaking Our Shit at The Hotel Cafe!!!!

The sun was back in Los Angeles yesterday, and so was the gigantic, impossible line outside the Hotel Cafe for The Nightwatchman's Axis of Justice show.  The happiest, most civil line you'll ever see, I might add.  People act like they know they're in for a TREAT when and if they get inside.

They are right.  The Nightwatchman started the night off by quashing the rampant rumor that Bruce Springsteen would be playing, returning the favor of Tom showing up at his two shows this week (Open a new window - go to You Tube - Helpful search words:  Morello.  Springsteen.  Tom Joad.  Anaheim - Prepare for chills).  "He's not playing, so get off me.  I also don't care if you can beat me at Guitar Hero 3".  Comedy.

His first tune of the night was "Flesh Shapes The Day".  It warms my heart that people in the room know the words, take them seriously, and sing along LOUDly.  "Si Se Puede!"  Next was a song from The Nightwatchman's next album (YAY!) about "irredeemable loss, whether in the 9th Ward of New Orleans, or our Nation's soul" called "Midnight in the City Of Destruction".  The crowd pleaser line of that song is clearly, "I pray God will come and drown the President if the levees break again".  Justice, indeed.  It's always notable to me how the crowd goes nuts for a certain phrase or guitar riff, and then one second later is library quiet.  We would do well to remember what Tom reminded next, that, "What's past is past, but the future is unwritten.  History from this point forward is yours to make" - and then he busted into "House Gone Up In Flames". This put the room in real danger of spontaneous combustion itself.   And to top that, the song that we hope will be played in the streets of Los Angeles when our current administration is brought before a war crimes tribunal (inevitable, right?  RIGHT?!), "Guerilla Radio".  "All HELL can't stop us now!"  Please remember that too ... and get involved!

Our dear comrade in arms, Kid Lightning (Dave Gibbs), had the unenviable task of following that rifle blast with his gentle, acoustic grooves and Chris Joyner's lovely piano.  He addressed that right upfront, saying, "Talk amongst yourselves if you must, but either in the key of F or G".  He needn't have worried, because the whole gang was on board for his lovely "Barely Out Of Tuesday" Then, after a tale of the young "Jheri-Curled Mulleted Tommy Morello" being at the same Dio concert years ago, he regaled us with his, dare I say, pretty version of "Holy Diver".  Dave, you're swell!

What you will notice at these shows is what a terrific M.C. Tom is, expertly wrangling all these stellar musicians back and forth on to the stage, always with a fun rock story.  Like when a Mom recently approached him to sign something for her 4 year old son who loves Tom because of Guitar Hero.  While he was signing, she asked if there was a "Stuffed Animal" of him.  Tom mused that somehow when he was young and jumping on his bed with a broomstick trying to be Ace Frehley, he never imagined that people would both want to rock like him, and  "cuddle with him in their little boy beds". The wit is as sharp as the guitar skills.

That story bought time for Jason Heath & The Greedy Souls to get to the stage.  They played their great, "Anarchist Girl" - that makes you want to be one, if you're either gender.  Love it.  Then,  perfect for an AOJ night, Jason said "We say 'God Bless America', and then drop bombs on other countries.  Isn't that taking God's name in vain?"  Uh, yeah, it is!  That was the name of their second song, "God's Name In Vain". It really is sad.  But we weren't, because these GIVING Souls are wonderful!

Axis of Justice was in the house, now with "Axis of Just-Ettes" (cute young ladies armed with donation buckets) to gather funds for the feeding of  L.A.'s homeless.  It costs only $10 to get into these shows, "but an unspecified amount to get out", said Tom.  The good people should be stuffing themselves after this show!

Next up, a lovely song by John Tierney (a friend's Father who Tom heard play at Smooth's wedding) called, "I Have A Song".  o    o    O    O {thought bubbles} "Hmm ... sort of a Celtic Cat Stevens".  The chorus went, "I hope that it pleases you, my love, it might".  It did.

Oh, MAN!  BEN HARPER!  AND The Innocent Criminals!  All on the tiny Hotel Cafe stage!   Ben took the stage wearing a hat like on the "Burn To Shine" album, and looked very prepared to blow our minds.   Which they more than did by starting out with, "Get Up, Stand Up"!   They had the crowd at hello, of course, but now It. Was. ON!  Then right into, "Diamonds On The Inside".  [Swoon - Smelling Salts - Gasp]  And I'm back.  To say that it was epic, as usual, the whole band FEELING it.  "With My Own Two Hands" was next, with rasta riddims, and an extendo version to boot.  Leon Mobley was BEATING on his Lion drum!  Yikes.  There was a thunder burst in the room after that one, with everyone begging for "One More Song!"  The one more song was, "Please Don't Talk About Murder While I'm Eating" - easily THE jam of the night.  It was pure ENERGY.   And it featured a sick bass solo by Juan Nelson, who merged it into singing, "I Got A Woman", while the rest of the band and crowd ate it up.  The Guilty (of ROCKING!) Criminals then turned it into the most sweaty, fun, supersong EVER.  They simply killed it.  The crowd went bezerker.  Tom came up, shaking his head with a giant smile, saying, "That was so good it hurt The Nightwatchman's feelings".  Yeah, it was most definitely the climax of the night (and I kind of blush saying that when talking about Ben Harper), all else being the Cherries Jubilee on top.  Wow.

Jubilee - appropriate when talking about Mr. Perry Farrell, the ultimate showman.  He played next, joined by his band mate and rock chameleon, Carl Restivo.  Their first song was a first-time played one, "Here Come Trouble".  Spare, acoustic and warmly welcomed by his entire room of superfans (like the one next to me who gave me an ear-ring I still have today. Bless her heart).  Perry asked, "How many people want Tom Morello to be the next President?"  Judging from the huge roar that went up, it was unanimous in this precinct.  "Just putting it out there". Last fall they played another song for the first time, that is now a shouted-out request - "Nasty Little Perv". [Note to my creepy Landlord:  I dedicate the writing about this song to you! Creep.]

Tangent, sorry. Perry posed, preened and smiled along to this groovy tune, and had the whole place in the palm of his hand. He is impossible not to love.  Especially when playing total classics like their last song, "Ain't No Right".  Solo and acoustic is equally as good as the original, and I mean it.  It is classic for a reason.  Because it RULES.

There was a delay before Tom came back up, because in between songs, each performer would go outside and play for the line of people - that stayed for the whole show!  Imagine walking down the street, seeing a commotion in the alley, and seeing Ben Harper, Perry Farrell, Tom Morello and their bands playing for a crowd in an ALLEY!  That's the kind of people they are - awesome.  There was also a rumor going around - that has not yet been confirmed - that Chris Cornell has joined Velvet Revolver.  Anyone?

When Tom DID make it back up, it was to introduce Richard Patrick of Filter.  He set up his "Take My Picture" by saying that it was good that people did take his picture in the 90's, because he doesn't remember much of it.  Rocker.  He was backed by the wonderful Jonny Polonsky and the ever-ready Carl Restivo + his drummer that I'm sorry I don't know his name.  They were great, and even better on, "Hey Man, Nice Shot".  I was having flashbacks.  Good ones.

The Freedom Fighter Orchestra, that always plays the party jams to round out the night, was this time Dave and Carl and Jonny and Chris, but also Mike Einziger from Incubus!  I'm not kidding.  They played "Over The Hills And Far Away", with Carl as Robert Plant and Mike as Jimmy Page.  Dead ringers, I say.  Then the next jam was "Search and Destroy, with Perry as Iggy Pop (reading his lyrics on his Blackberry as he went)!  I still kid you not.

The now-demanded party anthem, "Shake My Shit" (Nightwatchman) was next, and aptly described what the folks in the room were up to at this point.  Rowdy!  It also featured an ELECTRIC guitar solo by The Nightwatchman, much to the assembled's great pleasure.  You just can't top that live.  Cannot.

Carl "Lashes" Restivo is also a wonderful instructor at the REAL School of Rock in Hollywood.  For the night's next song, White Lion's "Wait" (!) - Carl (as Mike Tramp) had a student of his, the truly named but not the Friend, Courtney Cox, come up to SHRED the guitar solo.  Grrrrl power!  She was great and you should watch out for her - verrry impressive, and probably a real cool gig for her.  And of course for us.

Now the SUPER party anthems of the night, brought to us courtesy of Sen-Dog AND B. Real of Cypress Hill!  They hit us again with the trifecta of "Insane In The Membrane/Kill A Man/ Rock Superstar" and though it was hard to see them through the smoke in the room at this point, I am pretty sure it really was them.  The Nightwatchman was having a BLAST jamming with his pals, bottle of Jameson in hand, hijacking Carl's guitar from behind, and generally going OFF!  All this and he STILL yelled, "We're not done!"

To finish the night off really, they threw down "Going To A Go Go" by the Stones.  It was a happy mess, with Tom saying, "You might not like to see sausage made, but you'll enjoy the taste when it's done".  No one cared at this point, they could have played simple scales and the lighters would've come out. In fact, the rawness of it all made it even better, like you were at their basement house jam.  As the chords faded and the drums signaled the end of the night, Tom yelled, "The Justice Tour kicks off next Tuesday at The Troubadour!  Don't fuck up and not be there!"  That might be the best advice I've ever heard.  And if tickets are gone (and I suspect they are), it wouldn't be the worst idea to stand outside.  You just might get the same-ish show!  But if you do, remember those Justice buckets all the same ... as this is ROCK WITH A PURPOSE!  The very best kind.  YES!!!!
