Yeah... so.... September came and went and no CD.  WTF right??  Well it turns out we have had some manufacturing delays and it will not be available this month.  We don't have an exact date yet, but the moment we get it, it will be posted.

Well, we are in the last week of production for the CD.  Almost everything is mixed and things are sounding pretty damn good.  The weekend was spent mixing tracks - only 4 more to go. 

We should be in the mastering studio by Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Wow - it has been some time since we have added any updates to this page.  Joe, Bill and I have been working hard on finishing the album.

Well, just over a year since we started it, Outgrowth's debut album is 4-5 weeks from being completed.

By this coming Saturday, Joe and I will have completed all of the vocals (thanks to my buddy Roy for lending me his Avalon 737 tube pre-amp).  Then, the next 3 weeks will be spent fine tuning the mix. 

We have the weekend of June 1st booked to master the album with Jim Godsey. 

After a year of dealing with our day jobs, illnesses, family matters and normal everyday life shit that gets in the way, it is a huge relief to finally be this close to finishing the album.  And patting ourselves on the back, it's a pretty good one.

Hey Folks!

We spent a large portion of the day doing what I like to call "scrubbing audio". Basically, we go through each track and listen for things that might be out of place such as a snare hit that is slightly out of time, or a wrong note, or string noise, etcetera. This is always a necessary step when dealing with digital recording, well any recording for that matter.

This was good because we found a spot or two that Joe decided he wanted to re-record. This was good news for the website and MySpace Blog as we have NO pictures of Joe recording his parts! That is right, the entire time, Joe has been behind the camera and when he was recording his parts several weeks back, I was "running the board" and playing audio engineer. I did not have time to take pictures. Bill was working a lot during this time so he was unavailable to take photos.

Anyway, here is Joe in action.......

Another Day, Another Song. This one is titled "Garden". It is a 2 part song, or basically 2 songs that flow into each other based on the same concept. It will likely be our Epic song for this album coming in at 13 minutes long.

Guitars Tracked tonight...2 Rhythm Guitars tracks doubled for massive stereo effect, 1 Solo, overdub of clean guitar at the end of part 1, clean guitar on part 2, Acoustic guitar on part 2, and 2 rhythm guitars doubled for a small part of Part 2. So that is..1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1=8 guitar tracks x 13 minutes...oh you figure it out!! :-)
