(Oops, did a certain Ms. Cheeky Geeky write topless instead of laptopless?!)

Join Micropixie & the Head Band at one of SF's cutest live music, Hotel Utah on Thursday May 21st. Completely dispensing with the com-pewter, MPX will be playing with some rather lovely real live human beings:

- Maya Finlay (electric guitar, keyboards and backing vocals)
- Ron Songco (bass)
- Kevin Cassidy (drums)
- Vernon Bush (backing vocals)
- Byron Briggs (trumpet)
- Ghyslain Afouba (percussion).

Micropixie and the Head Band will be on at 9.30 sharp! They'll be playing songs from her - as yet unreleased - second album, as well as old faves from her first, Alice in Stevie Wonderland.

After MPX, we'll have the excellent Jacopo. Opening the show at 8.30 will be SF's fine Dandeline...

In this unique blend of different genres we'll mix acoustic with electropop, klesmer
with italian melodic and much more. All this for only 6 bucks!

RSVP here, fanks!

One of Micropixie's songs (Superhero, from her forthcoming album, TGFB) has been selected by Tom Robinson to be aired on his show "6 Music Introducing: Fresh On The Net" on Sunday night/Monday morning 11-12 January between 01.00 - 03.00 (GMT). You can hear it afterwards via the Listen Again links at http://www.bbc.co.uk/6musicintroducing for 7 days after transmission. Tom Robinson, for those of you who might not know, is the singer/songwriter of some pretty cool tunes (indeed War Baby was one of MPX's fave songs in the '80s, featuring on many a mixtape she made) as well as an activist for the gay rights movement. Thanks Tom, I'm chuffed!

MPX performs guest vocals on PC Munoz's fantastic new album Grab Bag, alongside other guest artists, Ingrid Chavez and Joan Jeanrenaud.

Go to PCM's Myspace page and click on his music player; the MPX morcel is called Chatter & Buzz!

Also, Micropixie will be performing this track live at The Red Devil Lounge this Friday, September 12th... details on MPX's gig listings page.

To learn more about the album, check out the "making of" video made by fellow SBF for PCM

Micropixie sings backing vocals on Paul Dhillon Weber's second release, Sago. Go check 'em out. If you listen to the whole album, you'll understand why MPX's alternate airport code name for PDW couldn't be anything other than TMF.

Props to me human alter ego, SBF: the micro-fillum in which she expresses her views on immigration, nationality, and skin colour (and which, incidentally, has been very well received by the global community of foot fetishists, judging from the preferences of the many YouTube users that have made that particular video a "favorite") is Featured Video of the Week on HDFEST.

Even if you've seen the older YouTube version, do check out the HDFEST* one 'cos it has a new and improved soundtrack and a couple more whizzy visual tricks. Also, both the resolution and audio bit rate are much higher, so the kwality is better innit.

*About HDFEST: Since 2000, HDFEST has been producing all high-def film festivals all over the globe. Since HDFEST's inception, there have been 23 HDFEST events in 10 cities from LA and NYC, to London and Helsinki, to Sydney, Australia. HDFEST events also include panels and seminars on high-def filmmaking and digital cinema with some of the industry's leading experts. In addition to the festivals, HDFEST.com offers some of the best in independent cinema with movie downloads from some of today's top indie filmmakers. HDFEST.com also includes movie reviews, art and music online.
