The Velvet Underground - White Light White Heat. Great album. Lady Godiva was a badass revolutionary slut (good for her?). Chris Rock's funny but he's a bit of a miserable bastard. Pork scratchings fucking ROCK! Martinis have to be dirty. Monster Munch are hunks of crunchy corn. Pistols are pointing out of poor men's pockets. She watch channel zero. There's no point in asking you'll get no reply

So its been a strange year. I fell out with a very close friend in the summer. The summer was lame. Lots of sadness, regret and recreational activity to help
forget. I spent most of the summer writing songs. WOW bad fortune is SO good for art! I've written some of the best lyrics ever. When things are really bad and you have an outlet like songwriting you use it coz its the only thing that makes you feel better. AND IT DOES!!! Scream your heart out into a hard drive people. Trust me. I wrote lots of songs for Shuffle. You'll hear them later, second album I reckon. But one made it onto the first/current/will-we-ever-finish-it album. Its called The Real Thing (lame name, probably change it) and I wrote it in 45 minutes and it's badass!
So its painfully obvious that I haven't really LIVED yet. Or the music would be better and we'd be conquering the world by now. Fuck it I conquer my bedroom and studio and I don't regret the engineers and producers I've left in a tangle of wires whispering 'back up the drives, save the data, I won't make it'. What I want, though, is MORE. More experience, pain, blood, lies and scars. Ok that sounds really EMO. I'll tell you about Brasil one day. It didn't really hurt but the blood!
So I don't mind if someone breaks my heart. Its never really happened (I thought it had but that was nothing but drug store love). I welcome it. Whats the worst that could happen? I gain some more experience and write some more badass songs!  Do it.

Standon Calling was a wicked gig. Vague memories of bad Italian and Northern accents (apologies). The weather was AWFUL when we started (it had been raining all day) then the clowds parted and it was blazing sun for the rest of gig (and afternoon). So you've got us to thank for that innit...

Bloom was cool. Great gig. Up for it crowd (especially the two in the pic in the comments). My trousers had a bad whiff of being left in the washing machine too long. Sexy....

...but here's a lil' blog. See what comes out. SO Monica left the band. MAJOR news there. 'Artistic/creative differences' etc, you know how it goes...We suddenly had a load of gigs, festivals, STUDIO BOOKED and no lady singer so it all got very hetic for about a month, auditioning potentials. We have a new singer but she ain't gigged yet so watch the dingy (dinghy?) lit space.

Festivals have been fun so far: The least fun was probably Workhouse festival in Wales. We were very late (20 mins to go) and I forgot the tickets so we drove straight into the main stage backstage area. Gig was FUCKED UP! Peter's bass string broke during the first song. NO spares, noone would lend (thanks Babyhead!) so we tried a few bassless songs and I talked like an idiot for about ten minutes. Our hardcore main audience was a group of 4 young ladies (like, 7-10 years old). They LOVED us man. I had them in the palm of my hand!

We finally found a spare bass (with 15 vminutes of our set time left) so I asked the ladies to gather a crowd which they did! I said (into the mic) "all bands want young female fans but you girls are YOUNG!". One of them replied "I am 8!". Ah, its good to be appreciated. Our mini gig was great but would've been paked out if we'd played for the full time slot. Ah well, Peter felt suitably ashamed...

YES! aFTER A FEW MONTHS OF EMAILS, LISTEning to cds and holding auditions we found the perfect girl for us!!!! Her name is Saskia, she has a lovely voice, great style (is very beautiful) and you'll love her. We'll have some gigs booked soon but hopefully we'll see some of you at a festival this summer. It feels like we've been in the wilderness for a while but we'll be back real soon. Album starts recording at the end of july! See you soon,

hEck ya! We were in the studio last weekend recording our new single Another Avenue. Twere a grand day twere. Working with the producer (Brian O’Shaunessy - Primal Scream, Beth Orton) was free and easy - a pleasure. Recording went v well. Harry was late though (no surprises there though it wasn’t his fault). He called me at midday: "I’ve been arrested". Those flippin’ sniffer dogs are GOOD. Anyway we got it all done and the results are great. I was so into it as I was recording my track that tears came to my eyes. Exhausting but amazing experience. I wanna go back! You’ll get to hear it soon.
