I just signed up to sponsor an animal from Animal Welfare in New Milford, CT.
It is so unfortunate that people are neglectful and uncaring for their animals, where they end up in shelters.
Or they do not get their animals spayed and neutered to help stop the overpopulation of stray cats and dogs. (Charlie is not neutured, but he is rarely outside - however I do very much want to get him neutered since it helps to eliminate certain cancers as well.)
"AWS has many special-needs animals. These include older cats and dogs, dogs and cats with health problems, and animals with personality or behavioral problems. Every cat and dog at the shelter is available for adoption to the right home; however, a few are very hard to place and may never find homes."
By sponsoring, "This special attention and love can bring a lot of happiness to a shelter animal who may never find the permanent, loving home they so richly deserve."
When you sign up to sponsor you will receive:
"1. A special biography and photograph from your sponsored cat or dog.
2. Periodic letters and cards updating you on your sponsor pet's progress.
3. Special sponsorship recognition on our website (great for businesses & schools!)
4. Unconditional gratitude and affection from your special sponsor pet."
and
"We encourage you to visit and spend quality time with your special friend (always feel free to walk your sponsor dog or let your sponsor cat cuddle in your lap!) Some sponsors not able to visit may prefer to send care packages to their special friend containing special treats and favorite toys. "
